Amazing value for money

They were very responsive, replied quickly to our questions, and were always proactive in trying to solve any issues or accommodate our requests. We felt that they genuinely wanted to make sure everything went smoothly.
We were pleasantly surprised to receive upgrades at two of the hotels included in our itinerary, from mid-range to luxury accommodation. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. In particular, staying in a luxury lodge right in the middle of the Serengeti was an incredible experience. Being surrounded by nature and wildlife made the safari feel much more immersive and special. We also really enjoyed the upgraded accommodation near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. (Mbuni in Serengeti was outstanding!!)
Our guide, Fazil, was also a very positive part of the experience. He was friendly, proactive, and attentive to what we wanted to see during the safari. He took into account the animals we were particularly interested in and tried to adapt the game drives to our expectations. We really appreciated his effort and his willingness to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.
Area for improvement
The Charity Hotel was probably the weakest point of the accommodation. Compared with the other hotels in our itinerary, we felt that the quality was slightly below what we were expecting. The hotel and rooms could benefit from some maintenance and improvement, and we ended up changing rooms during our stay. The food was also unbearable, we even went to bed without having dinner.
For future guests, it might be worth considering an alternative hotel to ensure a more consistent level of quality throughout the itinerary.
Overall, we had a very good experience with this company and would definitely recommend them. The communication, flexibility, hotel upgrades, and our guide Fazil made the trip very special. With a few improvements to the accommodation choices, we believe the experience could be even better.

Amazing family safari
Our family safari with Gilmag Safari in August 2026 was the best we’ve ever had.
Mary was very helpful and responsive in organising the exact itinerary we were looking for.
Our guide, Aggrey, was not only an excellent and careful driver, but also a real walking encyclopaedia. He knew almost everything about nature and used his expertise and knowledge of the area to make sure we got to see everything we wanted to see, including the Big Five and the wildebeest river crossing.
Our trip included visits to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti, followed by a relaxing week in Zanzibar.
All of the accommodation, including the tented accommodation in the Serengeti, was clean and comfortable.
We couldn’t be happier with our experience and can highly recommend Gilmag Safari to anyone visiting Tanzania.

A perfect safari
For my first trip to Africa, I chose a classic 5-day safari with 2 days in the Masai Mara, followed by Nakuru, Naivasha, and Hell's Gate.
A huge thank you to our amazing driver, Jacob, who drove and guided us perfectly. He's incredible; he knows every nook and cranny of every park and does his utmost to spot the Big Five! The safari was well-organized overall, but be warned, the days are long.
