nice and practicle for familly
4/5

safari very well organized, nothing to predict more, everything is included
the tents are large, the simple campsites with showers, the meals made by our cook served at the table ...

I could recommend a different visit near lake Manyara because this safari is less interesting because the forest is dense ... why not go pedaling, or visit the maasai market ... outside the park, go for once to the meeting of inhabitants but always accompanied!

Stanley was a Kilimandjaro guide, and now, he is a driver guide with very skills for observing and finding animals !

Richard gives one car for a familly, only familly, he does'nt add an other person ! just us !
... we had a big 6 places toyota land cruiser ... anley is a very good driver guide !

The compagny deserves to be known, a good and experimented place for travel in Tanzania.

I recommand

About: Kenya
Could have been better if Not for the condition of the roads and the Cramped Safari Vehicle
Overall rating
4/5

We took a 5 day safari visiting a night each in Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru and 2 nights in Masai Mara. We booked through Karibu
Safaris and I must say we were very happy corresponding with Robert, and he was so prompt in Replying. We were over all happy with
the safari but for the following:

- Our plan was changed with the excuse that someone missed their flights. Am sure this was not true. It was Ok for us but then I had an ailing mom back in India and left the day to day hotel contacts and programmes back home incase of emmergency. Thank god nothing happpened.

-The Vehicle with just the two of us was pretty comfortable on the 1st day, but then the next day we were 6, and the 3rd day there were two more and the small vehicle was cramped to capacity. If you are above 6 foot tall you would find it very difficult to sit in the vehicle with more than 6 people.

- At Masai Mara, without prior notice, we were changed from the Mara Springs Camp to Lenchada Resort. It was very basic, but comfortable, thank heavens, food was also good. Here again we were told the hotel is full, but am sure it wasnt.

-We were not very happy with the Hotel in Naivasha - The Taphe Guest House, we changed two rooms, TV didnt work, no sockets to charge, the bathroom was shabby and nothing worked properly, no free water, food was average.

-Would have preferred a better hotel in Lake Nakura - The City Max hotel was OK, but the room was stuffy with no fan. We opened the windows but was invaded by mosquitos. We went early Feb but I honestly feel this hotel should have a fan in the room.

- Worst of all, for almost 100 kms into Masai Mara, the roads were non existent, the dust, the bumpy ride is something I would never forget. Looks like the chinese are poking their nose in Kenya and instead of doing the road up in bits and pieces, scraped up all the Tar once and for all. It was a hectic and terrible ride in and out of Masai Mara.

-The Masai Village is a rip off, and the people there are greedy. Dont go there unless you want to waste your dollars.

And finally an advice to Single women, beware of your over friendly driver. In our case, the driver dropped us at our Nairobi Hotel and went all the way back to Lake Naivasha to tempt a Single Dutch lady traveller into going with him to a bar for a drink and then soliciting some fun. He was disappointed his offer was turned down and kept asking her if she hasnt cheated with her husband. This was shocking to us as the fellow seemed such a quiet chap and never opened his mouth ! He told the dutch lady, all single ladys like fun, but then,he shouldnt presume !

On the whole I found the Karibu safari reliable, safe.... and would recommend. They offered me complimentary airport-Hotel in Nairobi- airport transfers and I paid a nominal deposit by paypal and the balance on arrival which worked out fine. I did a 5 hour walking tour of Nairobi City for USD 10 per person and enjoyed it. I stayed at the Best Wester Meridian in Nairobi for USD 70 a DBL incl of breakfast and taxes and would strongly recommend. Lovely rooms, superb and safe location, lovely breakfast and walking distance to Malls and supermarkets. Nice very cheap places to eat next to the hotel.

Good service at an affordable price.
4/5

The company provides good service, all issues are resolved quickly. If you are looking for a budget option, then this is probably here. Four stars just because the company could organize everything even better. There is much to strive for and what to improve. I would advise to pre-give more information about the necessary clothes, vaccinations, and a more accurate description of the program. Guides are professional. I would advise to take a lodge, it is much more comfortable and not much more expensive. Be prepared that time in Africa is by African standards and do not take to heart the possible delays in transit and waiting. This is Africa. The food is good.

Good
4/5

Uganda and Rwanda are amazing countries. Great people and good food and very affordable. Amazing landscapes, nature reserves and parks. We even saw the most elusive green breasted African pitta in kibale Forest. That was stunning. The holy grail bird for birders. As she is hardly ever seen even by ardent hardcore bird watchers. What luck we saw one and even took pictures. We had a blast with gorillas and even saw a leopard let alone lions and all. Time of our lives we had. And Rolex. Best food item We have ever had. Our guide Alex was lovely and tried very hard to accommodate anything we wanted and he sure did. Lovely experience.
Only drawback and was a MASSIVE ONE was that our car was a Toyota hiace wagon that was in shambles with no air conditioning and very uncomfortable so please in the future do ask about the car you will be provided with. For us it was a learning experience for sure so please make sure your future ride is a Toyota Land Cruiser minimum with working air conditioning.

Caring!
4/5

Joseph did a very good job, from the beginning until and I was back home. He was very much concerned about everything and making sure things were as planned. Masai Mara was simply BEAUTIFUL, no words to express how magic it is!! Our driver was also nice - a bit quiet though. It would be nice if he could also explain a bit more about the animals, and the role of ranger, which I really admire! It was a beautiful experience, and felt very honored to meet the Masai, and visit their houses.

amazing experience for a budget shared safari, good value for money
4/5

we booked a shared safari 4 days and 3 nights, we shared with other 4 travellers so we were total of 6 + our driver and chef. the itinerary is fixed but well planned, we did tarangire then serengueti then ngorongoro, we camp and that was an amazing experience. the driver was good and nice and the chef cooked simple tasty food. the car broke down once but the driver managed to get it fixed so we could continue, for a low budget I would say the experience was really good as anyway you get to see the same things! worth to try

A well-organised, exciting and nature-filled experience
4/5

We booked a 5-night trip with Hello Tanzania, travelling in February 2019, and it was a fantastic experience that we would thoroughly recommend.

We were met on time at Dar es Salaam airport and the same guide accompanied us from there until the end of our trip. We went to Selous where we saw lions, leopard, elephants, wild dogs and a whole host of other beautiful animals amidst stunning scenery. We also had a memorable day in Udzungwa, hiking and swimming in the waterfall. We were just the two of us throughout the whole trip and the guide was flexible to our timings and requests. The days planned were intense and we are glad we stayed behind in Selous for an extra day to enjoy Jimbiza camp for an extra night, rather than move on quickly after just one day. Hello Tanzania were flexible to this request during the planning stages, which deviated from their original proposal.

The Hello Tanzania guide was extremely experienced and clearly very passionate about the wildlife. His calm nature, expertise and passion contributed heavily to the success of our trip. His incredibly keen eye even managed to spot a 20cm-long chameleon as we traveled at speeds greater than 30km/hour en-route to the accommodation. The leopard, the vulture feeding frenzy, and the fish eagles were personal highlights spotted by our guide.

In the pre-travel correspondence, Hello Tanzania were flexible to our many requests, they were incredibly helpful, friendly and easy to converse with over e-mail. Paying large sums of money to a small company in advance of travel can be nerve-wracking, especially when Hello Tanzania weren't always quick to respond (it took them 5 days to confirm they had received our money, for example). The nature of e-mails received from Hello Tanzania leading up to our trip was informal, with notably broken English and grammatical errors. Do not let this dissuade you from what was a well-organised, experienced service delivery on the ground in Tanzania. Whilst a quick online translator/ spell-checker would increase the professionalism of the e-mail correspondence in staff members’ second language, we are glad that we chose Hello Tanzania and trusted them with our deposit and upfront payment.

In short, Hello Tanzania delivered a well-organised and action-packed trip for us. The main contact was incredibly easy to work and plan with in the build up to our departure. We will remember our holiday for many years and are glad that we went with Hello Tanzania.
