Excellent⁹.
Everything was wonderful (3 days safari in Masai Mara, private tour, stayed in Mara Sopa Lodge). Laura was very helpful, answered all our questions. When we landed late at night, Justin was ready to welcome us. Rufus was perfect tour guide, driver and friend. Thanks a lot.
Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Enjoyed the safari. We had an excellent driver/guide [LT] and cook [Emily] which made the safari really enjoyable. The driver/guide was well experienced and very knowledgeable and very familiar with the area. The cook provided excellent meals. accommodations were as advertised and all of the staff was knowledgeable and very friendly.

They are professional and genuinely committed in everything they do for you.
Professional, responsive, and genuinely committed, Tanzania Explorer delivered a seamless and memorable first safari for our family. They combined expert planning, eco-conscious choices, and carefully selected, crowd-free locations with a personal touch throughout—creating a relaxed, authentic, and truly unforgettable Tanzania experience.
From our first encounter with Tanzania Explorer (part of Old Explorer Group) and the initial Zoom call, we knew they were the company to take us on our first safari adventure in Tanzania. As a family with two teenagers and no prior experience in East Africa, we wanted an operator who could guide us through every step. Their focus on keeping most of the money in Tanzania, their clear passion for conservation (supporting charities and choosing camps with a strong eco footprint), and their more adventurous tours elsewhere in Africa all showed us they were mature and confident in their operations. Throughout the planning, Tim (our planner) replied promptly and clearly to every email, always offering to call if anything needed further clarification.
Tim suggested an itinerary starting in Dar es Salaam, and although we were initially a bit sceptical, it turned out to be spot on. Their villa on the outskirts of the city was a perfect place to rest after a long flight, see a bit of Dar, and gently get a feel for the country. Especially valuable for a first-time visitor to East Africa. The hosts at the villa made us feel like part of the family in a genuine way, helping us relax and feel taken care of, a feeling that followed us throughout the trip.
From Dar, we flew to Arusha on local flights, where our safari guide picked us up and stayed with us for the next four nights. We visited Lake Manyara (a great small taste of what is to come!), then spent a night at Ngorongoro Crater before continuing to the Serengeti. Our camp there, Mawe, was a small, luxurious bush camp in a part of Serengeti that felt perfectly “hidden away” from the busiest areas. We never experienced the crowds of safari vehicles often seen on social media, except briefly on the last day near the airstrip, which only confirmed that Tanzania Explorer had chosen the right camp location for us. During the Safari we saw all the Big Five and much more!
After the safari, we flew to Zanzibar for a few days of beach relaxation. Once again, Tanzania Explorer found us a place that exceeded the photos: a small boutique hotel tucked away on Michamvi beach. It was a safe, tranquil and intimate spot far from mass tourism and large resorts, exactly what we had described we wanted during our planning!
Throughout the entire journey, we stayed in touch with the Tanzania Explorer team via a group WhatsApp chat. Whenever we needed anything, they were there, and it was always their own staff picking us up at airports and driving us. During our stay in Zanzibar, we especially appreciated that they never tried to up-sell or push extra tours on us. Instead, they encouraged us to relax, which is exactly what we did.
I cannot recommend Tanzania Explorer enough. They gave us the holiday of a lifetime and truly lived up to their slogan, “Creating African Storytellers” - because after this trip, that is exactly what they turned us into.

Great Planning
We loved Lion King Adventures. We told them exactly what we wanted to do and see and they really delivered. Initial communication was great and timely. One feedback I would give is that better response would be encouraged while patrons are on the trip. We never received a response for an emailed request. Overall our trip was absolutely amazing!!! Our tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. Transportation was timely and safe. The selection of lodges and hotels were top tier. We were extremely satisfied. Thanks for making our trip one to remember!

great safari
Mr. Tarimo was an excellent guide. We saw many many animals, he is very knowledgable and drove very carefully. The whole safari was well organized. The Moyo Tented Lodge in Serengeti was wonderful. But every Lodge was to our liking. The food was always good. A downpoint was, that we had to pay for the water at some lodges. Also, our car was quite loud, it did not have elecricity to charge our camera, nor did the cooler work, for which we asked beforehand, to cool our medication. Overall, we were very happy with our safari and would recommend it to friends.

Best way to experience Chobe National Park in just one day
My dad and I had a phenomenal experience on a day trip to Chobe National Park from Victoria Falls with Cuckoo Safaris and the Botswana-based sister company Puku Safaris.
I have done a multi-day safari in Chobe on a previous trip, and I was worried that it would not be possible to experience the same magnificent wildlife, scenery, and intimacy on a day trip where time is a limiting factor. In fact, everything was just as good, and I actually think we managed to see almost as much of the park as I saw over four days before. I share this in the hopes that other travel planners who worry about having the *perfect* experience will feel encouraged to make time for the Chobe day trip if staying in Chobe is not an option - of course, I also have to recommend staying at one of the safari lodges in Chobe :)
The morning began with a relaxed drive from Vic Falls to the Kazungula Border, where everything went smoothly and we met our safari guide, Vusi. We got lucky and happened to end up with a private tour for the day, but the experience would also be fine with other people!
The morning boat tour was fantastic thanks to our boat guide, July. I was skeptical about doing the boat in the morning, but I am so glad we did because there were hardly any other boats out on the river. The timing was perfect so that animals were just beginning to come down to the river to escape the growing heat.
Lunch at the fancy Cresta Mowana Hotel was excellent - buffet style and included in the booking price.
Vusi truly made the trip with his passion and care on the afternoon game drive. We saw many of the major species within the first hour and spent the rest of the time searching for a pride of lions, which we finally found!
We finished the game drive around 17:00 and were back for dinner in Vic Falls by 18:30. Thank you Vusi and July for the smooth and memorable experience! I hope to come back for one of your camping safaris to Savute and the salt pans!

Amazing experience
We booked a 9-day private safari with Jungle Roam Safaris, and everything was perfectly organized from start to finish.
The itinerary was excellent, combining different parks and reserves (Naivasha, Nakuru, Masai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo East) that each offered a unique experience. The organization before and during the safari was smooth, and communication with the team was always quick and professional.
A special thank you to our guide, Kush. He knows the parks incredibly well and always seemed to know exactly where to position the vehicle to give us the best wildlife sightings and the best opportunities for photography. He also drove very carefully and safely throughout the trip, which was especially reassuring as we were travelling with young children. We also appreciated the great respect he showed for the wildlife and the environment, always observing the animals responsibly and never disturbing them.
Travelling with three young children (aged 3, 7 and 9) can sometimes be challenging, but Kush was patient, professional and made sure the whole family could enjoy the experience. We created unforgettable memories together.
We highly recommend Jungle Roam Safaris to anyone looking for a well-organized private safari in Kenya. Thank you for an amazing adventure!
