Excellent, a memorable first time safari in East Africa!
4/5

We took a 13 day Kenya/Tanzania Safari with Wildebeest including Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Amboseli (with stopovers in Nairobi). From the beginnings of our communication, Noah was always extremely prompt and helpful in his correspondence with us. He was very flexible and allowed us to change the itinerary multiple times based on our needs and budget. Upon arrival, we were met at the airport by our first driver Dennis, who drove us through the first Kenyan leg of the safari. Dennis was always enthusiastic and cheerful and ready to share his knowledge. He met all the challenges of the journey, always trying his best to ensure we still got the most out of our trip, and making sure we were well taken care of.

We did have some mechanical troubles with the 4WD during our time with Dennis - his car was well worn to say the least! While he was very focused on ensuring we got our time in the parks, it would have been more beneficial to have the car completely fixed and ready to go, avoiding several break downs in the middle of our drives - this was probably the most trying element of our safari, but ultimately something that couldn't really be avoided or foreseen.

Upon our arrival in Tanzania we swapped over to a new driver Hamsa, who was always friendly, helpful and had great knowledge of his surroundings. While it was a nuisance to cross the border so far from the Mara (due to border restrictions), we were treated to some fabulous scenery in Tanzania, en route to Serengeti. Hamsa was always very flexible with the itinerary to suit our needs, and his vehicle was thankfully in a better state of repair!

When back in Kenya, we spent just a few days with another driver Eustace (this time in a minivan with a pop-up roof). Once again, Eustace was a great driver, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. He went the extra mile on our last day, making every effort to drive us back to Nairobi (from Amboseli), getting us there just in time to visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage during its limited opening hours (something that wasn't on our itinerary, but we'd hoped to do). We were collected by Noah on our last day in Nairobi for our transfer to the airport. It was great to finally meet him, and really helped not to have to worry about arranging our own transfers.

Overall, our safari with Wildebeest was a great experience, we were able to see all of the Big Five, and enjoyed some great animal sightings throughout our stay. The accommodation was a bit of mixed bag, ranging from budget to very nice, but was always exactly as we had agreed. We were very well treated wherever we went, and were lucky to be upgraded in quite a few places. We would certainly recommend Wildebeest for a quality for money, mid-range safari tour.

My 4 days at Maasai Mara and Lake Nakuru were pretty awesome, i can't wait for my next R&R next year
4/5

I really enjoyed more than my expectations the best bargain ever for my vacation. I will recommend anyone willing to take a vacation to Kenya to go for Crossriver Safaris. One more thing, the driver was a good guide and the most important he knows all the types of animals so you can imagine how it was.

Hell's Gate
4/5

Pickup from airport was great. Had to stop in Nairobi to exchange my dollars into KS which was inconvenient.
Lake Naivasu and Hell's gate were a good day trip. The best part of the Hell's gate was touring the canyons. This was somewhat unusual for me as a Masai joined us and took over the tour (good because he went further and different then our guide would have). Bad because he also wanted to be paid at the end which turned into an issue. My guides were friendly, the car for transport pretty basic.

A truly memorable safari experience
4/5

From my first contact with James, I was very impressed with his willingness as well as personal interest to sorting out what we wanted. We did a 4 days safari to Ngorongoro which I will never forget. The food was awesome, our tented camps were clean and hygienic. I highly recommend Blue Ocean Safaris .

2 night stay at Chobe Safari Lodge in Botswana and Rai Ikane Sunset Cruise at Victoria Falls.
4/5

Rai Ikane Sunset Cruise was perfect - small boat and only 4 of us on board with plenty of nice quality food and drinks. The captain in particular was very welcoming.
Chobe Safari Lodge - ideal location and the river rooms were of a very good standard and very comfortable. The boat safaris were very good, particularly the one we did in a private boat (which was also very good value for money). We had 2 dinner meals across the road at the bush lodge - the service and quality of food were exceptional, the highlight of our stay.

Excellent Customer service and very professional
4/5

We had occasion to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro on August 9th. 2014 and had it not been for this outfitter, we would not have accomplished such a feat. We had started to prepare for the climb about a year befire and spent much time determining which outfitter to use. We were concerned because 4 of the 5 climbers in our group were over 55 and one, who was 67, had a heart condition. Our tour operator had recommended Kilele Savane, but we found scant information on the web about this outfitter. We asked for references, which were supplied, but none responded to our inquiries. We also asked a bunch of questions about equipment, food, conditions etc. and all were answered very professionally. In the end we decided to take the plunge after the tour operator mentioned that the owner of Kilele, Frank Mella, had himself been a guide, climbed the mountain hundreds of times in 20 years and that her own daughter had used this outfit.
It turns out that our fears were unfounded - we could not have asked for a better team. We had 19 porters, a cook, two assistant guides and a head guide - a total of 23 support team members. The guides were incredible with a total of over 500 climbs between them. Without their expertise and patience, we would not have made this grueling ascent or descent.
Other little things made such a difference to our experience. Flight delays and lost luggage were handled with ease. Frank himself provided ground transportation to a late-arriving participant, taking him directly to the gate so he could catch up to the rest. He also provided his own sleeping bag, back pack and poles to one whose luggage did not make it. Then there were the times when Patrick (aka Marathon Man) brought us tea one hour before we reached each camp just to lift our sagging spirits. Last, but not least, were the delicious meals and snacks provided by out Masai cook Samson and served by the ever-considerate Ezron. What a team!
I would not hesitate to recommend Kilele Savane and the three guides that made all the difference - John Lyimo , Nyanda Benedicto and Ruta. Their strength, sensitivity and knowledge were astounding.

Great family hotel
4/5

We stayed at Zabezi Sun for 3 nights in September with our 2 children (ages 8 & 10). The accommodation and food selection was great. We ha good help organising a sunset cruise and the boys loved swimming in the pool. We found it a little tiring getting through passport control to visit activities in Victoria Falls. If we came again we would make sure we only had one day in Zimbabwe not over 2 days like we did this time.
