Great 12 day trip, Outstanding Service!
5/5

We took a seven week around the world luxury trip. I did most of the planning but when it came to southern Africa, it is pretty difficult. I can’t remember how I came across African travel consultants and Saidy, But the service has been excellent. It’s quite expensive to do a safari, Saidy Really helped us get the most luxury for the best price, I appreciated his help to work with our own budget.
We based ourselves out of Johannesburg and did a four-day trip to Victoria falls. The hotel was OK but You are really never in your hotel as the trip to vic falls, is one big adventure. We did the sunset cruise twice, the day trip to Chobe, The tour of Victoria falls and The white water rafting trip. All were excellent. We then stayed at Kambaku river sands In the Timbavati reserve for Safari and it was outstanding. Great food great wine, luxurious accommodations, and excellent trackers. The whole 12 days went off without a hitch, thanks much to Saidy Monitoring our progress and Was very responsive. When i picked African travel consultants, I was a little apprehensive at first, Given the Few reviews, but they provided references in the US that checked out and having done now this trip, I would definitely agree with those other guests, This is a top-notch organization.

Amazing Safari in Tanzania and Kenya
5/5

Winston at Grayton Expeditions organized our 10 day private safari in Tanzania and Kenya. We had 5 days in Tanzania and 5 days in Kenya.

We started corresponding with Winston at Grayton about 2 years ago and then the Pandemic hit and we were unable to travel. We continued to correspond with Winston letting him know that we still planned to come for our safari. Winston was very professional and was always available to answer our many questions. He ensured that our safari was exactly what we wanted.

We were picked up in Arusha, Tanzania by our driver, Nestory. With Nestory, we visited Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Parks. Nestory was an excellent guide, very well experienced and made sure we saw all of the Big 5 while we were in Tanzania. He was always very helpful and knowledgeable about the wildlife. He has a “magic eye" as he called it as he was able to spot wildlife (sometimes at a great distance) while driving that we couldn’t see until he pointed them out to us. Nestory didn’t use the radio too much to find wildlife as he was so familiar with the parks and animals and knew where they tended to be. We were very fortunate to be able to see a Black Rhino at the crater.

As we were camping in Tanzania we had a cook with us, Abu. Abu always made sure we were well fed and his food was very good. We were served a hot lunch while others had a boxed lunch.

Nestory took us to meet our new driver at the border between the Serengeti and Masai Mara. We were met there by Raymond our guide in Kenya.

Raymond was also an excellent, experienced guide. We visited the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli National Parks. Raymond was also excellent at spotting the wildlife. He did use his radio to communicate with other guides and was able to take us to see lions and cheetahs hunting and well as the Great Migration of the wildebeest. Raymond made sure we saw all of the Big 5 in Kenya.

Our safari was amazing. It was the adventure of a lifetime! Everything went very smoothly, and was well organized. We had no difficulties with our guides, vehicles, accommodations, borders, etc. I cannot thank Winston at Grayton Expeditions for organizing such an amazing safari and excellent guides.

We thoroughly enjoyed our safari in Tanzania and Kenya. I would recommend Grayton Expeditions and both of our guides, Nestory and Raymond, to anyone who is considering a safari in Africa.

Grayton exceeded expectations on our 10 day private safari
5/5

Our 10 day safari to Tanzania and Kenya was a once in a life time trip . This makes the opportunity very exciting but also rather daunting trying to plan a bucket list vacation from 8,000 km away and no knowledge of workings and realities of safaris.
This is where Winston and Grayton Expeditions expertise and dedication made the world of difference. We completed our safari today and we could not have imagined what a great experience it turned out to be. Our expectations have been exceeded in almost every aspect.
PLANNING
We began to plan the safari in early in 2021 working closely with Winston at Grayton Expeditions. Winston and his team worked closely with us to understand our specific expectations and budget. They then put together an itinerary that respected our eclectic accommodation wishes (from public campsites to high end lodges), helped us understand what was possible and what was practical. Covid derailed our safari for 2021 but we continued to stay in touch with Winston and started to plan our 2022 safari. Over the many months Grayton continued to help sculpt our safari into the success that became. Communication was quick and detailed and they never tired of our requests for clarification and additional details.

CARE ONCE WE ARRIVE IN AFRICA
From the moment of our arrival in Africa the Grayton team was available and engaged in our experience. A 24 hour airline delay caused a last minute change in schedule, Grayton immediately was able to reschedule our first day events in a manner that ensured we were still able to experience the activities of the lost day. Almost every day while we were on safari we communicated with Winston who was busy ensuring our safari was meeting our expectations. I am sure that Grayton would have immediately resolved any issues that were likely to come up over such a long and varied safari but the very best aspect of the experience is that there was never ANY issue or unexpected deviations from the initial plans. The safari was indeed planned and executed to such a high degree there was never any problems at all.
GUIDE IN TANZANIA
Our Tanzanian guide, Nestory was exceptional and the highlight of the safari. From the moment he picked us up to the moment he handed us over to the Kenyan guide at the border the experience with Nestory fantastic. His Landcruiser was in excellent condition, outfitted with a table tray for our binoculars and cameras complete with a universal charging station for our cameras and cell phones. His expertise on all aspects of the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire were outstanding. He was also able to spot animals that no others could see. His driving was excellent and since we did a public tenting safari throughout Tanzania we were also accompanied by a cook, Abu, who rendered all other people on other safaris jealous of the delicious and hot lunches and dinners that he prepared.
WE SAW ALL BIG FIVE IN TANZANIA INCLUDING A BLACK RHINO

GUIDE IN KENYA
Our Kenyan guide Raymond was truly unique and made our time in Kenya exciting while we also experienced the true Kenyan nature of helping others and caring about his clients. Raymond picked us up in his Landcruiser at the border between the Serengeti and the Maasi Mara, helped us through the immigration process and proceeded directly to the Maasi Mara. His 13 years of experience was evident within minutes of entering the Mara we were watching a cheetah hunt a zebra (unsuccessfully) on our own as no other guides had noticed this opportunity. We then were able to witness a lion at the end of her successful hunt of a wilderbeast, again on our own. The next day we had the privilege of viewing the great migration. The various game drives that followed were equally successful.
The day we were in Lake Nakuru we came across a smaller vehicle hopelessly mired in the mud and unable to continue. Raymond was able to find another vehicle with a tow rope and then expertly pull the stuck vehicle to safety. Overall, every aspect of our time with Raymond added significantly to the quality of the time we spend in Kenya.
WE SAW ALL BIG FIVE IN KENYA INCLUDING A WONDERFUL ENCOUNTER WITH TWO LEOPARDS STROLLING ON THE MARA RIVER.

FINAL DAY IN NAIROBI
On the final day of our safari Winston took the time to come and great us at our hotel and debrief us on the trip, partly to ensure he and his crew met our expectations and partly to understand all our thoughts on the various aspects of the experience to continue to enhance future clients’ experiences. Winston joined us with a driver to tour downtown Nairobi and venture out to the Giraffe sanctuary, Elephant Orphanage then to the train station for some R&R in Diani beach.

I would highly recommend Grayton Expeditions to anyone planning an African Safari.

Nice trips with good value for money
4/5

The 5-days group safari trip through Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Lake Manyara was a great experience. We did 2 nights camping and enjoyed it a lot. Our guide, Benjamin, was a good driver and animal spotter. We saw many animals and he always tried to drive as close to the animals as possible. Our cook prepared varying and tasty breakfasts, lunches and dinners. We would recommend everyone to do a safari in Tanzania, for either 4 or 5 days (for us, Lake Manyara was least impressive). Travel Africa Safari Agency offers the trips for a good price.
