Exciting, beautiful and unique
Our stay at Makweti was superb - hospitality, catering, service and over quality of experience cannot be faulted. The array of wildlife we saw on our morning and afternoon explorations and the immediate proximity to the wildlife was truly amazing - a special mention to Joseph our safari guide/host, his knowledge, patience and service was a highlight of our 4 day experience.

Excellent host and guide in Kenya
My husband and I spent 3 days in the Masai Mara, Kenya, with Silas. He was an excellent guide and very attentive host. Communication was prompt and thorough. Our trip was amazing!

Jartan is a knowledgable, fun, and accommodating guide with Eagle eyes!
My wife and I traveled with Jartan as our guide along with 4 of our friends touring through the Masai Mara, Amboseli NP, Tarangire NP, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti NP. Jartan took great care of all of us along the way. He listened to what we wanted to see and experience and did his best to accommodate our wishes. Of course no one can guarantee seeing animals, but with Jartan, we saw so many animals that our cameras were filled up with great photos. His ability to spot animals is truly remarkable. Even the drivers, who spot animals when the rest of us could not, were impressed with his ability to spot animals at tremendous distances. This trip was our third trip on an African safari and we saw so many more animals this time as the previous two trips combined. The tented safari camps exceeded our expectations. Jartan did a good job keeping us on schedule and always put us in the best position to see and do the things we all wanted to experience. His personality was a great fit with all of us, he has a good sense of humor and was happy to share what life is like in this part of the world.

Experience of a lifetime!
Our safari experience — 4 day/3 night in Mizumi NP + Udzungwa NP + Masai Village — far exceeded our expectations! The service and organization was above and beyond every step of the way. From making arrangements with Winnie, our tour guide, Isaya and his team, to the activities, food and accommodations. It was so much fun and we saw more animals than we ever expected. We appreciated the youthful, fun, positive energy and extensive knowledge of everyone on team Kihindo. You will, no doubt, have the experience of a lifetime with Kihindo!!

Gorilla Tour not official, but bribed a guard for a private tour.
The tour went ok. While tour was in a Landrover, it was not well maintained. Twice the car would not start until fixed a few days later, ran out of gas since dashboard was not working so never knew how much gas we had or how fast we were going. He tried to change originally quoted hotels on me, most where for a lower quality but when pressed he changed back. I was in low season so no issue with availability.
The biggest issue I had was on the gorilla trekking. The night before he called me to say needed to wake up and hour earlier cause gorillas had moved. I said we stayed in this hotel since it was 10 mins from the Buhoma gate. He said please wake earlier, so I did. One of the owners picked me up, not my usual guide we drove for about an hour. Then parked on side of road, where a Ugandan guard came out of the forest I followed him alone, not sure what was going on and saw gorillas for an hour. This was clearly a bribe for the guard and much lower cost for the operator. For all gorilla treks you usually meet with the group at an official entrance show passport get signed in and and divided into groups, as well as a short talk. This operator clearly did not pay for a gorilla permit. Tour operator and guard pocketed the money not Uganda Parks.
Experienced, knowledgeable, organized, detailed oriented, adaptable, and caring
My trip started off with delayed flights out of Chicago making the ability to make my connection from Doha to Nairobi questionable. On the flight I was able to message my tour leader who told me not to worry, keep him informed, and that things would be arranged if I had to overnight in Doha. Luckily, Qatar Airlines held the flight to Nairobi & rushed a group of us through. Knowing that someone was there for me and that I had a person I could contact meant everything.
This caring and helpful attitude was carried through the whole 19 days of my safari.
It was a once in a life time trip. The food and lodging were amazing. The experience, knowledge, and patience of our tour leader never ending. We saw so many animals and birds plus the Big 5. We lost count of the prides of lions and cubs. Tacking cheetahs and leopards was an adventure.
The trip was well worth the cost. The friends and the memories made.

It was amazing
My 8 day journey through Maasai Mara and Amboseli to Diani was exceptional. Our knowledgeable guide enriched our wildlife experiences, and tour consultant Lencer ensured a seamless transition to beach paradise. An unforgettable adventure blending wildlife and beach relaxation. Highly recommended Fabrics of Adventure Safaris.
