Mlimani Safaris gave me, my husband, and our 4 friends the best experience we could have asked for. They were great in the planning phase, offering suggestions on how long to stay in certain places, which lodges to stay in, etc... Something that I feel is important and offered a unique experience is Mlimani is 100% Tanzania owned and operated, so you know you are supporting the local tourism industry when choosing them.
Our guide Nicolas was very experienced and provided in-depth information on the areas and animals the entire trip. After talking to a few other guests at the lodges, getting a guide that provides this additional info isn't always the case. Nicholas was also great at listening to our needs and going with the flow of the day. There were a few days when we just wanted to enjoy the pool at the lodge and not spend all day touring around, he was totally flexible and always came up with a good daily plan that fit our needs.
As far as animals and parks - everything was perfect. We saw the "big 5" and so much more!! We were never rushing around to catch the next big thing like I felt some safari vehicles were doing. We visited Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and two local tribes.
Mlimani suggested we go in late May, which ended up being a perfect time to go. We loved that the lodges were not as crowded as in peak season but we still saw all of the animals. Thank you so much Mlimani for making our trip of a lifetime just that much more special!!

We had a lovely time in Kenya during our 6-days safari trip through Amboseli National Park, Laka Naivasha and Masai Mara. Most of the accomodations were very good and luxury. We spotted a lot of animals (the big 5!) and learned a lot about the Kenyan culture. For anyone who is looking for a complete and affordable safari, we really recommend Marurumi Safaris.

Wonderful Safari Tour!
We had the best time on our safari trip with Crater Explorers! Emanuel was very helpful in coordinating our trip, and he answered all of our questions thoroughly and in a timely manner. We felt confident that we would have a good experience even before it started. The accommodations were fantastic! We stayed at a lodge and a tented camp, and they both felt luxurious. Emanuel, the chef, prepared amazing food for us and we never went hungry. We always looked forward to his meals! Frank, our tour guide, made the safari so memorable. He knew all the good spots in the park, and his knowledge about the animals and their behaviors and habitats really elevated an already amazing experience. I will never forget how Frank skillfully tracked a leopard so we could see it up close. We would highly recommend Crater Explorers, and if you’re lucky enough to have Frank and Emanuel on the trip, you will be guaranteed a wonderful time.

Darren listened to our wishes and planned a seamless and very personal itinerary.
We communicated with Darren or Compass Odyssey exactly what we wanted and he was very thoughtful and precise with the planning of our trip. We began with 4 nights in Capetown, which was just perfect. Our personal guide, Glen, was fabulous! We saw all of the sights, plus a couple that we requested, as well as a day of wine tasting at some beautiful wineries. Our entire trip was very personal, in that there were only the 5 of us on all of our tours and Safaris, except for 1 camp in Kruger, where another couple joined us, who fit in perfectly. No big crowds or tours! All of our accommodations were very nice, and our safari hosts and guides were extremely knowledgable. All of our accommodations had very comfortable beds, and nice baths with good showers. Queen Victoria in Cape Town was a boutique luxury hotel, as was The Peech Hotel in Johannesburg. Highly recommend both! The Victoria Safari Lodge had the feeling of a real African setting and we enjoyed sitting at the outdoor bar each evening watching the sunset and the animals at the watering hole. After having dinner one night at the famous and historic Victoria Falls Hotel, we were quite happy with our choice of accommodation, feeling the VFHotel was a bit stuffy. LOVED the Chobe River Lodge, and the Pom Pom tent camp in the Okavango Delta. Senalala Lodge was nicer than expected and the hosts were very nice, knowledgable, and accommodating. The trip could not have been better planned by Compass Odyssey, and we thank you for truly memorable experience.

We loved having our own private tour guide. Patrick adjusted our itinerary multiple times and responded quickly to questions. The accommodations were great, the food was good and the service was incredible at every location. We received a detailed description of each park and lodging facility and we received what was promised and more!
