Very professional, responsive and accommodating
Great experience which would definitely recommend. We went to Amboseli park in April for two nights and half day and the itinerary was great. Our hotel (on the medium range) was perfect, exactly what we needed it. Martin, our guide, was very knowledgeable, always on time, and with great taste in music!

Knowledgeable and Very Helpful
I contacted Ale regarding a safari for my group of six. We decided on Botswana, going to The Great Tsau Hill in the Kalahari, and then the Okavango delta, and Nokanyana in Mababe. Since we were so close, we also asked her to add on Victoria Falls. It ended up being 11 days total. She made all the arrangements which included all the accommodations as well as the transfers between the camps. Ale gave us advice about the visas needed for Zambia and Zimbabwe. She was there to answer all our questions. Then, a few months before our trip, we were informed that the camp we were to go to in the Okavango Delta had a fire and was no longer available. Ale was able to book us at another camp quickly and with just a bit more cost. That camp was Nxamaseri, and I would highly recommend it!
We were met at the airport in Maun and taken to our helicopters for our flight to The Great Tsau Hill. The camp was rustic, but comfortable. Our guide, Chilli B, was great! We spent a day with the bushmen, and did a lot of birding. Our next flight was to a bush airstrip where we were met by our guide, Mr. P. We drove from the airstrip to the river, where we took a boat to our camp. Nxamaseri was great! If you like to fish, this is the camp for you. We didn't take part in the fishing, but we had twice daily boat safaris, and one day we went to Tsodilo, sacred hills with ancient drawings on the rocks. Very interesting, but bring your hiking shoes. As for the boat safaris, it was mostly birding and hippos in the water, but the birds were spectacular.
Our last camp in Botswana was Nokanyana in Mababe. Here we were met at the bush airstrip by our guide Chilli B again! Here, we had all the large animals that you expect to see on safari. We had breakfast in the bush. It was a great time.
We then traveled to Zambia to stay at Sussi & Chuma, a luxury camp, which was just what we needed after our 9 days in the bush. We spent the morning visiting Victoria Falls on both the Zambia and Zimbabwe sides. Bring a good raincoat or take what they offer. It was spectacular. We ended the trip with a short safari at the nearby reserve where we got to walk with rhino, completing the big five for us.
Everyone we encountered was friendly and knowledgeable. Of the six of us, I was the only one that had been on safari before. All my friends loved it.
I am in the process of booking another safari with Wandering Thru. I highly recommend them.

We were full of expectations considering that it was our first ever Safari and we were in our honeymoon! Well, it was even better than everything we thought it would be!! They are thorough, thoughtful, organized, and friendly.
The tour company was excellent. Every detail was thought of, yet it didn’t feel overly planned or rigid. The best part was our driver, Fred, who knew the area like the back of his hand.

Diane went above and beyond to put tighter the perfect honeymoon package!
We wanted a honeymoon that was both action packed and restful and Diane put together the perfect trip! After a long day of game drives it was nice to come back to a beautiful and relaxing accommodation for the evening. It was everything we could have dreamed and more!

Probably one of the last bastions of wilderness on earth where you can still see the big five.

Botswana offered a total immersion in the bush with tracking of animals in their natural habitat.
We did a self-drive from S. Africa to Muan, Botswana in order to go on a mobile camping safari in Moremi Park in the Okavango Delta. The 7 hour drive to Muan was an experience in itself. Wide open country with salt pans and bush on the fringe of the Kalahari desert. Easy driving, good roads and very few cars or towns. Muan was a bustling centre serving the tourist trade for the Okavango delta. We stayed at Cresta Riley's coming and going from our camping safari, a lovely hotel with great food & service and full amenities. We went on safari with Boteti Safari's who were fabulous. The game drives in the Moremi Game Reserve were supherb. We saw all kinds of wildlife up close. So many elephant herds, giraffes, zebras and all sorts of deer. In addition to seeing lions, a highlight was a mother leopard and her cub coming out of the bush right next to us. We just can't say enough about Bostwana. The people are lovely and very welcoming, the scenery and night skies are breathtaking, and the wildlife is spectacular. Best of all was the camping experience with no boundaries and with wildlife around you. Needless to say we kept our tents well zipped at night. After 5 days in Kruger Park, S. Africa we found Botswana a much more natural and immersive experience.

If you have found Early Kingfisher, you have found the best safari to book with
I had no idea what to expect when going into my family’s safari with Sam. But by the end of our trip, I knew that we could not have had any better experience with any other company.
The level of expertise, dedication, and passion is what makes Early Kingfisher so uniquely fit to provide the most enjoyable and memorable experience.
Over the course of our trip we found ourselves repeatedly grateful for having Sam as our guide. Having someone so knowledgeable about the bush, animal behavior, and everything in between made each moment particularly special. The Early Kingfisher name rings true, but for good reason. Though we were awoken before sunrise (to a good breakfast might I add), it meant that we not only had the opportunity to witness some truly spectacular morning skies, but it also allowed Sam to utilize his skills in tracking. We had the chance to witness a pride of lions relaxing after a meal and wild dogs searching for packmates, before any of the other safari cars made it to the spot and crowded around. If anything was an indication of Sam’s skills and keen eye to find animals and understand their movements, it was the constant call of “Sam Sam” over the radio by OTHER guides looking for his expertise and finds. The moments we experienced in the bush were also so dependent on the level of understanding Sam had. We had the incredible chance to see multiple ‘ceremonies’ of meeting and hunting as Sam knew when to hold out beyond snapping a few photos.
I cannot overemphasize Sam’s knowledge. Every question I asked about the animals behavior, evolution, and more—often times unsure there would be an answer—would be answered expertly in turn. And if you are an ornithologist, Sam has got you covered with his specialty in bird identification (even those not particularly keen on bird watching will find themselves interested I guarantee!).
This utter commitment to craft extends to everyone in the Early Kingfisher team. I truly do not think I have had better food (seriously delicious), more comfortable sleeping arrangements while camping, and service than what Sam’s staff provided. Honestly, it is something you just need to experience firsthand. You will never for a moment worry about being hungry or tired, with hearty meals and tea-times well-timed.
Our safari lasted seven days, and I believe that is the bare minimum that you should go for. I cannot more highly recommend Early Kingfisher, in all aspects imaginable. The opportunity to encounter Botswana’s beauty in such a powerful, well-attended way should not be passed up.
I would love to give a massive thank you to Sam and his team for giving me and my family an experience that will not fade from our memories!
