Superb experience
I just got home last night from my 12-day African experience. From start to finish, every need was met. When we landed there was someone at the gate to meet us and deliver us to our hotel! We spent one night in Johannesburg to begin our journey. We were sad that the Apartheid museum was closed the day we were there, but instead took a bus tour of the city.
The next morning we took a short flight to Sabi Sabi Reserve, where we landed on their private runway. We were set up in gorgeous accommodations and set out on our first safari drive. Over the next four days we took 8 drives where we saw scores of beautiful wild animals (we saw the big 5 within 24 hours). Our guides were professional and went to great lengths to make sure we saw EVERYTHING. The food was beyond amazing and the service was top notch. Be sure to ask for Vivyane and Benny for your guide and tracker team!
Next we took a private flight to the nearest public airport and flew to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Again we were met right after we cleared customs and were driven to Victoria Falls Lodge, coated inside the park, and were treated to a variety of fun activities, including a tour of the famous Victoria Falls, as well water and land safari tours. We really enjoyed seeing all the birds of Southern Africa in addition to the wild animals. We also had high tea at Victoria Falls Hotel! And the animals made themselves right at home right by the lodge. Wes, Roxanne and our guide Lucky made us feel right at home!
Our last four nights we spent in Cape Town. What a beautiful place! Our tour guide Glenn was beyond amazing and led us on three tours: the peninsula where we saw the penguins and the Cape
Of Good Hope, the city, where we explored Table Mountain, Kirstenboch Botanical Gardens and some
Downtown historical sites, and the Schtelenboch area, famous for its wineries.
The last day we had on our own and toured the V&A waterfront area before Glenn picked us up to head to the airport for our trip back home.
Lauren, our travel specialist, checked in on us multiple times and made us feel that we were special guests.
Can’t recommend this group more. As a matter of fact, three friends have already made inquires just from seeing the photos I posted on Facebook.

Customer-focussed, well organised and providing good value for money
What started with a gorilla and chimp trekking holiday, was expanded to a fun-packed 18-day trip (thanks to Sander's personal involvement), which delivered all the way through. We were very impressed with our accommodation throughout, both in terms of quality and cleanliness, but also the locations. Visiting the primates was absolutely fantastic, of course, but we also enjoyed the game drives in particular in Murchison and Mburo NP, and the Carnivore-project led game drive to see the lions in QENP. Barnice was our driver guide, who safely navigated us around the country and helped to add relevant excursions as we went along. Grassrootz is definitely customer focussed, which was perfectly demonstrated by both Barnice and Sander who helped us overcome some difficulty we had after the holiday had ended. Thanks again. If you want to go to Uganda, make sure you go with Grassrootz!

Professional with best in class tour composition
Very professional operator. Really enjoyed the tour and how it was organised and executed. Seen lots of animals, nice accomodation. Nothing to complain. Guides were very knowledgeable and tried to find interesting species (& succeeded). Great value for money. Staff was friendly and helpful. Especially the bush walk was an amazing experience. Some feedback which did not worsen my stay but might be areas to improve: Vegetarian option is mostly same dish as soya. I really missed vegetables. Other food, breakfast, etc was good. Only filtered coffee is at some places limited so that parts of the group did not get any. If it is difficult in the Bush Camps please communicate so that one can adjust their fillings and everybody gets some.

6 day tour including Masai Mara, Amboseli, lake Nakuru and Navaisha
I had custom made tour with Hyrax Safaris and would definitely recommend
their services, especially as they were able to bring together everything we wanted with very short notice. Not only did they deliver on everything promised, they were good value for money and not pushy in booking as many other tour companies are, which was one of the best things about my experience with booking with them. The tour itself was stand out with a very funny guide!

Open hearted, thoughtful, found us the herds…. Wanted to take them home with me.
As a world traveler, this experience has been the best!!! We were not tourists, we were guests, with our guides sharing their love for and respect of nature. They were well informed and didn’t hesitate to answer any silly question. I aways felt safe, even when lions or other large animals were close. They were able to spot leopards in trees & rhinos hidden in the grass. I could not imagine going with any other company. I’ve even extended my trip to have a few more days with these guides who I now consider good friends!
Thank you gentlemen!!

Excellent Local Operator - Don't Bother Looking Anywhere Else
We had a tailored made 6 day safari in Tanzania. I worked a long time with Norah and Masuma in the office to design the perfect safari for us. Nothing was too much trouble - their attention to detail is outstanding. Musa was assigned as our driver/tour guide and he was absolutely awesome- couldn’t have asked for anyone better. He located cheetahs, leopards, lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocs etc. He also managed to locate the crossing of the wild wildebeest which was an unbelievable experience as well as the hot air balloon. Musa was amazing, thoughtful, funny, extremely knowledgeable and considerate driver. Musa joined in with my 2 teenage children singing African regaee songs in the jeep - we had a lot of fun and my kids were mesmorised by the animals.
I chose Easy Travel because from the moment that you contact them to the very end of your holiday, they are EXTREMELY efficient with friendly outstanding service. They are a LOCAL tour operator in Tanzania so you don't need a middle tour operator in the UK or US (so more cost efficient too especially when you are choosing luxury accommodation!). You can trust them completely and they go the extra mile on everything. My teenage daughter also has a peanut allergy and they rang ahead at every accommodation to reaffirm that our dinners and lunches on safari (you can't call them picnics because it was tablecloths, hot food and wine! You can choose a picnic if you prefer!) were all nut free. The chef came out every night without us even asking.
Thanks to the whole team - out of this world luxury accommodation with fine cuisine and the best tour guide. We have returned to England and this holiday has had quite an effect on us - poli poli, Hukuna Matata.

Very good Pilanesberg day tour
Booked a day tour from Johannesburg to Pilanesberg couple of days before over Tripadvisor, received the confirmation of the time of pickup over Whatsapp the evening before the tour.
Pickup was on time, and it took another hour to pick up all the other people around the city as I was the first on the way. So for me it was about 4 hours drive to Pilanesberg instead of the 2.5 hours indicated on the Itinerary, just keep that in mind.
Trip to Pilanesberg was simple, one stop halfway there.
Game drives at 09:30 and 13:30 were quite nice, we didn't see that many animals but it was just too hot so no surprises there. We did get to see a leopard chasing a rabbit so that is a very rare sighting right there. Overall I was happy with the drives, although the ones at 06:00 offer much more, naturally.
Launch at the park was OK, beef or chicken burger and a drink, nothing fancy, but not bad.
And then the drive back with one short stop just outside Pilanesberg. I was picked up at 5:30, dropped off at 19:00 at Eastgate.
It was a nice experience, the only complaint I have it that in the morning after picking me up, the driver was driving quite fast and at one point hit a pothole which had me flying for a couple of seconds. Did not like the landing...
If you don't have the option of driving or wanting to stay the night before somewhere near Pilanesberg, this tour is definitely a very good option.
