Game is wonderful, the accommodation very much below par. Staff not much better

Addo elephant Park is really worth a visit
We spent two nights in Addo, sleeping at the Nyathi rest camp. This accommodation is beautifully positioned in that it is really very remote (no wifi or cellphone signal - sometimes a blessing....). There is a limited amount of game to see at the camp but the scenery and peace make up for this. The accommodation is very nicely appointed and the kitchen has pretty much everything one could want (only two of every piece of crockery and cutlery - which is a bit limiting). Parks people at the camp were friendly and attentive.
We really enjoyed the park, the lists of animals that one can see does not compare with Kruger BUT this does not mean that the game viewing was not great. We saw many, many elephant. So anyone wanting a close encounter of the elephant kind - this is the place to go.
I have never seen quite so many Kudu, there are quite literally herds of Kudu - usually one encounters a solitary Kudu half obscured by a bush - not in Addo, they are as plentiful as Impala are in Kruger - well not quite but one started to think that way. The bush pigs are very plentiful. We also saw lots of zebra.
The waterholes are the places to go to, easy viewing but one has to pick your time - as is the case at any waterhole - the animals are there and then they are gone.
We are not big "birders" but we saw some nice birds and the cherry was the secretary bird - wonderful.
The roads have been pretty well maintained and the restaurant and shops (some very nice up market curios - similar to what we have seen in the airport at ORT) are in pretty good shape. Overall we were impressed.
Addo clearly has some problems with regards to over grazing in some area and while one could be critical I would rather see it as a work in progress - especially when one considers the state of some other parks in South Africa/Africa.

Emmanuel the guide was so knowledgeable, passionate, engaging, entertaining.
While planning the trip, Fahari Uganda Safaris took the time to talk to us, so that they knew exactly what we wanted and they provided just that. Upon arrival, I realized that there was no need to worry or stress, about anything, everything was organized perfectly.
Waking up in Kisoro, we were treated to rolling hills, mountain Scenery and beautiful views of Lake Mutanda.
I and the group fully took in the spirit of Bwindi Impenetrable forest and its inhabitants. The Forest enveloped us in thick green and giving us a jungle mood. We took in the Emerald sights, smells and sounds of this two million years forest.
After an hour of trekking through this African Jungle, pushing the misty branch leaves aside and on slippery grounds, the ranger whispered in the walkie- talkie and a few minutes later, I stepped forward and there he was, sitting by himself. The idea of getting up-close and personal to such a huge beast is terrifying. They say that seeing a mountain gorilla cannot be matched by any other experience with animals, and I can testify to that.
Fahari, Uganda Safaris, Organized for us an interesting and amazing trip. They cared much about us having a fantastic experience. We had an incredible time and we were able to capture so many awesome pictures. The organization of the trip and accommodations were excellent and the meals superb. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip!
Fahari, Uganda Safaris did not disappoint. They did an amazing job in putting together an amazing trip. I am already thinking about when to go back or which other trip I should take with them.

THE ULTIMATE IN SERVICE AND EXPERTISE
Claire Ferguson heads up the Africa team at cazanove+loyd and brings a level of expertise and knowledge that can't be beat!
My recent travels included walking safari in Zambia, Victoria Falls and two different camps in Botswana.
Even after my two travel companions had to cancel at the very last minute, Claire made certain my travels were safe and the welcome warm wherever I went. Never felt alone at the delightful small camps where I stayed.
And of course, the animal safaris, the guides, the food and the accommodations were FIRST RATE.
Have referred several friends and Claire has similarly provided her special knowledge and service to their varied needs.

It was a wonderful 10 day safari: landscapes, animals and shared experience of our guide Surat.
We went to Kenya with SunUp Adventures. We do not know Kenya or even the Safaris. It was a wonderful stay, the course well organized and the discoveries just magnificent. Thanks to Surat for taking us to all these magical places. This trip will remain one of the most beautiful of our lives.
Thank you very much Surat.

Outstanding every time we have travelled with them...
I have travelled with cazenove + loyd a number of times across the years and I cannot fault them for the choices they have made for us. We have been lucky enough to of experienced Botswana, Mauritius, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Madagascar; all very different trips with different budgets to work with but the hotels, lodges, and camps that have been chosen for us have always been exceptional. Particular attention has always been paid to the very best guides and property locations which have made the world of difference - c + l certainly know where each of these crucial elements are to be found! From 5 star hotels to simple two-man tents, always giving an opportunity to experience the variety of delights around. Food, whether it was cooked over an oil drum BBQ, in a metal luggage case over a fire pit, or within a fully equipped kitchen has never disappointed. The last few trips we took were designed by Claire, who did a fantastic job of listening to our requirements and executing them seamlessly. What amazing memories we have. I highly recommend travelling under the safe umbrella of cazenove + loyd, you will not be disappointed!

Incredibile lifetime experience, amazing and unforgettable
I did a 5 days safari with them. We had a wonderful group of nice and funny people and our tour guide Malisa was I think the best tour guide you could ever wish for. He was so nice, funny and able to answer all of our questions. Due to him we were able to see all big fives... He told us to get up early so that we also get to see the more night active animals like the cheetahs. The food was great and the overnight stays in the Serengeti where the Hyenas joined us had been just incredible. During the night you could hear the hyenas laughing and the lions roaring as if they were just close to you. If your a wildlife fan, you shouldn't miss that opportunity. Even now when I see my pictures and videos I can't stop smiling. An experience I will never forget. Thank you so much for making this an amazing memory of my life.

Amazing experience!
The trip exceeded our expectations. Everything was excellent. Before the trip, James was super helpful, answering all our questions and making sure we were prepared for the trip. There were no last minutes surprises at all.
The car was nice and comfortable. Our guide, Malisa, was an amazing guy. Super friendly and helpful and willing to share information with us while keeping us safe.
The food was amazing. Abdula, the cook, traveled with us and we were one of the few groups who had proper meals during the trip, and not sandwiches in a box. Not only proper meals but amazing meals!
The campsites were simple but had everything we needed, with a plus for being so close to the animals. The whole tour was amazing. I definitely recommend it!
