The Mulala cultural program was a very intresting, heartwarming experience filled with lots of happiness. Drinks and excellent food were included in the price and de experience overall was worth the money.

The experience was magical
The accommodations for the first night of our stay was sketchy at best !!! - when we transferred to our "tree house" camp, the accommodations were as expected and honestly, a step up from where we stayed the first night. The tours were fantastic - the drives/guides were knowledgeable and the vehicles were great - we spotted all the animals we wanted to see (except a Leopard) - was a great time of the year to go on Safari (warm days and cool nights/mornings) - also, since it's outside of the "rainy" season, the vegetation made for great animal spotting! Overall, the experience was fantastic!

Young Operator with cusomized solutions
Brown Noddy Expedition organised a very interesting excursion for us to the village of Mulala. We could see how coffee is produced from shrub to cup, how honey is harvested and how the fields are worked. The connection to the community with Mama Anna and her Cultural Tourism Program was very inspiring.
Overall we enjoyed a carefully organized day.

During our very comfortable stay at the Kiteme Comfort Lodge we came in contact with Erasm and Geoffrey from Brown Noddy Expeditions. They heard our vague ideas of what we want to see around Arusha and immeriately provided a thougtfull proposition. Together we discussed the options, where we felt very heard and Brown Noddy Expedition customized the tour for our individual wishes. For our trip to the Mulala Cultural Tourism Program the Operator organised a knowing and motivated young tour guide who showed us around in the village, its farms and gave access to the community. The excursion was longer than expected but absolutely worth the time and the money. Local food and drinking water was provided throughout the day, as well as the transportation with private driver there and back.
During our stay in Arusha at the Kiteme Comfort Lodge we could profit very much from the network, knowledge and tips from Brown Noddy Expedition, what helped us to move to and in other parts of the country such as Lake Natron or Lushoto.

MR. Ben , the guide and his camp team were always on time about the day schedule because they were well prepared with food with water with the camping gear leaving my family the perfect timing to enjoy the space around . Ben is a well trained guide over 17 yrs through this amazing country , he knows about the history of the country and all about the animal world that you can and can't see during the journey . Chef cooked 3 meals a day in a heavy black solid pans on the wood fire so the food is really taste special to get you defenetly into the magic place where you are . Excellent but ask about tips!
7 day Machame route on Kilimanjaro followed by 3 day safari at Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
Trek was excellent. Guide was great, food fantastic (especially given we were camping on a mountain!). We finished in 6 days which we appreciated (as we were all able to summit successfully). Only issue here was with tips. We tipped the recommended amount according to the Tanzanian Porters Association but the guides and porters had been told to expect two-three times more. I would encourage speaking to Cubs when booking to clarify what exactly the expected tipping situation is. Especially as the staff were all so fantastic!
Safari was great. We didn’t see as many of the rare animals as we had been hoping but not through any fault of our guide. The camping was fine, but be aware that if you are in a group with an odd number of people you will be asked to share a tent with someone else. Perhaps to be expected for a shared safari but I think worth mentioning upfront.
Overall, we definitely recommend Cubs for both trekking and safaris (especially given their low price compared to most other companies) and it would have been 5/5 if the above issues had been mentioned to us beforehand so we knew better what to expect.

One of our top trips ever!
I have to say, our trip was one of our most memorable and fun trips ever. We had been on safari years ago through another operator and were very disappointed. But Natasha did not disappoint. The lodges we stayed and the hotels she chose were spot on. In addition, our transfers were flawless. The one time a driver was running late because of a traffic jam, we were told when our flight landed and had an easy solution. Natasha really knows South Africa and also really spent the time to craft a trip that was right for us! It was a milestone birthday for my husband, so this mattered! And everyone knew where we stayed and he was treated to cake, singing, etc. And can I say the animals are just amazing!!! Thanks to Natasha and the team!
