Duma Explorer staff professional, personable, passionate, and expert.
5/5

We used Duma to plan a 10 day private safari in Tanzania. We had never been on a safari before and we had never been to Africa. Thank goodness for their expert guidance in putting this trip together! They guided us to plan the ultimate itinerary. They respond lightning fast and answer every silly question. On the ground, our guide Ebeneezer Kilepo handled absolutely everything so that we could just sit back and enjoy the exerience. He is professional and incredibly knowledgeable but at the same time fun and funny. The accommodations that Duma recommended were all impeccable. We saw more animals than we ever could have expected, more up close than we expected and more active than we expected. Ebeneezer is an amazing spotter and knows literally everything about flora, fauna and geology (or at least it seemed to me). I literally have no critiques at all of this experience. We chose Duma because our friends had used them in the past (they also had Ebeneezer as their guide) and we are so glad that we did.

Liar, Cheat, disreputable! Do not use under any circumstances
1/5

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. My husband and I booked through a great agency in Kenya who outsourced the Tanzania portion of our trip to Galloping Safaris. Walter, the owner, is a liar and a cheat. Read other reviews (wish we'd seen them in advance). We were in Tanzania for 5 days. He hired a 3rd party guide/driver for us, Athman was EXCELLENT. He saved the tour for us. However, Galloping Safaris (GS) had us pay our entry fee into the Serengeti park (even though we'd paid everything in advance). He said he was installing a new payment system and was having problems. We put the $642 USD on our credit card, assuming Walter would do as he said and pay us back when we finished the trip in Arusha. Walter with GS outright lied to us. We wasted an hour waiting for him to respond so we could even enter the park. Next, as we were exiting Ngorogoro crater, we were not allowed to leave the park since GS (Walter) had not paid the concession fee of approximately $100 USD. Our driver, Athman, convinced Walter to go to the bank to immediately transfer the $$. Another hour wasted there. Then we arrived at Tarangire Park, only to find out, once again, Walter at GS had not paid the entry fees. He then asked us again to pay $227 USD of our own $$. We had no choice but to pay, because where else would we go? Yup, another hour wasted sorting this out. Upon our final day, we drove back to Arusha, met with Walter, his wife Glory (a Director of the company) and someone who said they were his lawyer. He did not have the money to pay us back upon our arrival ($869 USD total), instead he wrote and signed what we thought was a legitimate legal agreement that he would wire us the money in 2 weeks. That date came and went, no $$$, more lies from Walter and now zero response from him. He should not be allowed to operate. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY under any circumstances.

About: Kenya
Fantastic expirence
Overall rating
5/5

Great safari experiencie. I travel between the Amboseli Park, lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara. Amboseli is fantastic to enjoy the elephants. Great views of the Kilimanjaro on a clear day. Long drives between the Parks, i recomended to fly if you can. The roads are not great and very busy.
The lodges at the parks were fantastic, people are super friendly. As a solo female travaller i felt safe but under presure from the local to buy things.
Beautiful country highly recommend it.

Professional and friendly.
5/5

Gasper was exactly the guide we wanted. We have 12 and 15 year old boys. The older is very quiet and younger is very talkative. A 6 day safari is a lot of togetherness and Gasper managed us well. There are many competent, professional guides, but the special ones feel more like a friend by the end. Gasper is that kind of guide. Patient answering all the questions a 12 year old can think of, even the repeat ones. Funny, informative, and a clear passion for the work. He loves it and it’s very obvious. Thanks, again Gasper for an incredible experience.

An awesome tour organisation with great attention to detail!
5/5

We climbed the mountain via the 7 day Lemosho route with Williamson Adventures and couldn't have been happier. We were happy from A-Z with the service and everything on the mountain.

In our opinion, there are many aspects that could be done wrong but were done just right at Williamson Adventures.

One of many aspects would be the following:
- All of our porters had 5+ years experience on the mountain and didn't give up halfway or get demotivated because of lack of experience. The whole team was set up and paid fairly.
- Our guides knew exactly how to behave on the mountain (especially the Summit Push) as they have climbed the mountain over 100 times. Also, our guide once had to help another group use emergency oxygen, which shouldn't happen as everyone on the mountain should be trained to do that. Our guides were experienced and, unlike other groups, knew where the limits were on the mountain, which we find very important. The food is also adapted to the altitude (quantity, carbohydrates, fats and proteins). Every detail was taken care of and our whole group made it up the mountain and we were completely satisfied!

Thanks to the whole team and organisation to make that dream come true! :)

Amazing Trip!
5/5

We booked a trip with Azas Safaris Uganda, Prisca showed us different types of itineraries and we chose 9 days trip, it was amazing, we saw wildlife is Murchison falls, it was amazing. The highlight of the trip was gorilla, we asked Prisca if she can adjust and we spend more days in Bwindi of which she did together with her team.
The accommodation was amazing, it was according to plan and we like mahogany safari lodge most in Bwindi. Thanks to our guide Christopher Muhumuza for giving us a great knowledge most especially about wildlife. We promised Azas Safaris Uganda more recommendations back home.

Simple to work with and responsive
5/5

I reached out to Kruger Safari Co. a couple week ahead of wanting to go on a trip. They were very responsive and we set up a zoom call to review my options. Because I was going to safari as a solo traveler, it can be difficult to find lodges (since many don’t want to take a single person). They contacted lodges and found one that fit all of my criteria and was within the price range that I provided. Would work with them again!
