Discover Africa , and Matthys van Aswegen in particular, was a pleasure to work with. Firstly, his patience and understanding is a true fine attributive of his. We started talking about a safari to South Africa in mid 2019. We had both phone calls and email exchanges, and he was always responsive with concrete intelligent answers. In fact, he sent me many options/packages that were only in Kruger, and others that included Botswana, whatever combination I asked him for , he put together happily. However , by the end of 2019, not knowing about Covid yet, we simply weren't ready to go on Safari yet. He never put any pressure and was quite understanding. We then spent most of 2020 emailing back and forth again during the pandemic, with many more questions and options. In Dec 2020, I finally booked a Safari with him to Mala Mala camp in Sabi Sands(one camp , 4 nights, seven game drives), as well as visits to Johannesburg and Cape Town. We continued to exchange emails during 2021, updating and tweaking the itinerary, when suddenly the Omicron variant hit during Thanksgiving. Since there was MUCH uncertainty with Omicron and our trip was a few weeks away, I couldn't take chance with my family's well-being and potentially getting stuck in South Africa. So I postponed the entire trip for a year to Dec 2022. Matthys, once Again, was only understanding and flexible! He helped me re-book everything to Dec 2022 AND I even rearranged the itinerary completely, and he was accommodating and cooperative. He was also able to transfer all of my pre-payments for Mala Mala, other hotels, flights, to Dec 2022 so that not one penny was lost! In short, he was amazing ! We just returned a few days ago and the safari at Mala Mala was something me and family will always treasure. We also very much enjoyed Cape Town and the winelands! Discover Africa gets an A+ !

I chose Suricata because I had read some good reviews and despite my initial skepticism I can confirm after 5 days of safari that it was a unique experience. I chose to sleep in the tents because I wanted to try this experience and I was hoping to see some animals in the field and I did. The night I slept around ngorongoro crater I saw lots of zebras, buffaloes and impalas. They were lying there. Close to me.
I arrived on the 31st evening at the kilimangjaro airport. There was Mr T. who took us to the hotel in Arusha and the next morning our ranger, Fred arrived and took us to the camp for resupply. We saw Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Central Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Our chef Saleem has always cooked exceptional dishes for us. Every day for lunch and dinner there were 4 dishes. Rice, meat or fish, legumes and vegetables. Plus dessert or fruit. African cuisine is outstanding. All good and in large quantities. We all saw the animals multiple times. Elephants, zebras, impalas, waterbuks, monkeys, servals, warthogs, giraffes, baboons, hyenas, buffaloes, impalas, leopards, flamingos, lions, and even rhinos. Also a special thanks to our tour guide, he was informative, kind and generous and that made all the difference for us.
The hotel in the park was nice, the staff were really helpful but the food could have been better and they had problems with their electricity.
The actual hike and gorilla experience was amazing, our guide made sure our request to be in the longest trek to the gorillas came true and we thoroughly enjoyed it! (Although a little unprepared with our shoes :))

Exciting and Impressive EcoTour
I lost my iPhone in the river of Engero Sero Waterfalls and the Maasai Guide helped me to find out on the day after. The overnight hiking to the summit of Ol’doinyo Lengai was amazing and the Maasai Guide supported me to get down the volcano. I spotted lots of flamingos at Lake Natron and I visited the Maasai Tribe on the last day. During the tour, I slept in a tent and had meals with different tourists in a big hut. Cold beverages including beers was available in the hut with Wi-Fi. Finally, I paid for the tour to drive me to Moshi to have a look of the view of Mountain Kilimanjaro. It is good to have an unforgettable experience in your holiday with this tour!

Unforgettable trip with amazing tour guide
We flew in from Zanzibar and did a 2 day safari in Nyerere, and everything was very well organised. We can't say enough good things about our guide Eric, who does his job with a lot of passion. He is very knowledgeable, and never got tired from our many questions. Our kids (15-22 y/o) enjoyed every minute of the trip, from the moment we arrived. Seeing a giraffe even before touching down sure helped to get them enthusiastic, but honestly, the breakfast location, the people, the safari, the lodge, everything was just super special. Our kids ate termites during the bush walk, were fascinated by the many different and special birds we saw during the boat trip, and couldn't get enough of the truck ride. It was december so we didn't get to see zebras or buffalos (at least not living ones) but we saw all the other animals. Elephants wading through the water with little babies, tens of crocodiles resting after feasting on a buffalo, hippos from far and very nearby, giraffes with their babies, a pregnant lioness, baboons, turtles, impalas, warthogs, bush babies, waterbucks, it was just amazing. Thank you Eric, for giving us this unforgettable experience.
