Unpretentious luxury with an excellent guide
Our experience with Kingfisher Safaris got off to the best of starts, even before we had formalised our booking. Martin is prompt and very precise in all his communication over e-mail. Even before we arrived in Botswana, we felt well looked after. This would be the theme throughout our 7 day safari in Moremi (Khwai Sector) and Chobe (Savuti Sector).
Pilot and his team (cook + camp hand) work like a well-oiled machine. The food is exquisite and non-repetitive: how Thaelo manages to squeeze this much out of a small cold box in the car is beyond us. Evening meals are three-course affairs, and lunch is refined splendour with lots of hearty and fruity dishes. Sleeping accommodation is simple but comfortable, in tents with a bush shower en-suite and plenty warm duvets to warn off the chill at night. The warm water bottles were a nice touch we greatly appreciated.
The main attraction of course is Pilot's guiding. He is an excellent spotter and knows the region like his back pocket. In addition, he is a true peoples person with an enormous network amongst the local guides. Everyone with a radio trips over each other to pass on exciting sightings to him, which makes him unbeatable when 'hunting' for lions at a kill or a well-hidden hyena den. In addition, he has an excellent eye for photographic opportunities and animal behaviour, always positioning his personalised LandCruiser in the best vantage point.
If we had to name one small minus, it would be that if you are a small group (one couple) the days that include transfers, are really transfer days without much else. This because all the gear needs to be packed and transported in the safari vehicle. With larger groups, there is a second vehicle doing all the breaking and setting up camp while you go on another game drive. The one night-drive in Khwai (where we stayed 3 nights) we did gave us such beautiful sightings (serval!), that we would have loved more opportunities like this. However, in the grand scheme of this safari, these remarks are mere details. We would recommend Martin and Pilot with his team to anyone who wants to have an authentic and well-tailored safari in Botswana. Pilot's campfire stories and attention to detail and safety will endear him to guests of all ages, including children.

Best tour guides in the industry!
Our tour guides David and Maluta on our 9 day safari through Kenya (Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Amboseli) and Tanzania (Tarangire, Ngorogoro Crater) were incredible! They provided an amazing service and knew a lot about the best spots to find the animals during our trip. They were extremely professional and made sure we were well looked after throughout our trip.
The tour operator (Abongo) was ok. A few logistical issues throughout the trip which were not handled very well, and could have been dealt with more professionally, but overall we were happy with the service and the trip we had.

Fair prices for an unforgettable experience !!
We did a private safari (2 people) with TOPY TOURS for 3 days (2 in Serengeti and 1 in Ngorongoro), and I'm so glad we've chosen this tour operator. TOPY TOUR is managed by Jackson, a reliable, fair, professional and amazingly kind man. He adapted everything for us so we could live the best experience possible (2 guides : one french guide on demand, and one other guide super talented to find animals, personalized safari, meals...). He's super-listening, and will do his best to help you, even if it doesn't concern the safari btw (he helped us to find a SIM card for the internet, make money exchanges or withdrawal). You can trust this agency, we highly recommend it !
Thanks to Jackson's guide (Luca), 3 days of safari were enough : he managed to make us see ALL ANIMALS!! And for 90% of them, we were veeeery close ! This is very important to get a good guide for your safari, cause we saw some guides during our safari journey who just stopped their car in front of some animals, but soooo far away! For us, Luca was THE BEST GUIDE. Always on the lookout, driving until we found close animals. It was magical.
By the way, we loved Jackson so much that we decided to do all our mainland activities with him (Meru Waterfall, Materuni Waterfall, coffee tour, Hot spring Chemka, Masaï Market...). Always for a fair price compared to other agencies!

Best service in a fantastic country!
I was on a business trip in Uganda and had Edris and his staff as drivers. They were so professional and friendly! Their knowledge and sense of what one needs exceeded all expectations. I am a filmmaker and got all the help I needed. There was a high level of comfort in the cars, interesting stops along the roads and great experiences they offered. Thanks to their help, they made my job easy.
When I return to Uganda, I will definitely make sure to hire Edris again.

Very thoughtful, competent and knowledgeable!
Our safari was in Tsavo East and West with Explorer Kenya. It was truly amazing. Everything was taken care of. Our guide/driver picked us up from a very different location than normal and was even early! We were able to see every animal we wished to see, even the rare black rhino. The places we stayed were great.
A truly memorable experience. Kerry, who helped us book, did a wonderful job communicating.

To choose Bestmemorysafari for our Safari Tour was for sure one of the best decisions ever - it was a once in a lifetime vacation with such great experience & a fantastic adventure ! From second one Issac was in contact with us to arrange the safari. He always responded quickly, was more than polite, friendly, understanding, flexible, open for individual wishes and greeted us personally at Nairobi airport! There we met Timothy - an experienced guide - who we can only recommend as well ! He has a great feeling for the perfect spots & times to see the animals as near as possible (i'm talking about 0.5-2 m far from the car !) Therefore thanks to him we were able to see the BIG5 any many more! He knows everything about them & can answer you any question you have about the animals, landscape, culture and people living in Kenia - its amazing! We lacked nothing- cold water was provided in the Jeep. The lodges & camps we stayed in were amazing !!! (We googled some hotels near the ones we stayed in and the ones you have with this tour were absoulty the best ones - like a oasis in the middle of nowhere) ! Issac and Timothy were both always in contact with us, in time, reliable and friendly so we never felt alone or lost. To write something about the tour in general is difficult for us, 'cause we're not sure if we will ever find words for all the adventures, beautiful views & emotions we expirienced on the safari ! Those sights & moments might be a indiscirible once in a lifetime thing - we would wish every person possible to have ! Its just stunning!!! This safari tour by bestmemorysafari also had really everything we wished a safari to have - early morning-, afternoon-, fullday- drives, a boatour, the possibilty to do a walking or riding safari (we would really recommend to do!!!), a nightdrive, to visit a massai-village (an experience so great & a meeting of such lovely, friendly, proud people!), a walking safari (we just say: we walked 2m next to a crocodile!) and so much more ! You really get the full Safari experience with this 10-day Kenia tour ! Every day, every hotel & every park has it own flair, animals, landscape, adventures! To sum it up... you see thats not easy & thats not even a little of all the big great impressions you would get on this safari... we can only recommend bestmemorysafari by heart !!!
