Involving and knowledgeable staff
4/5

The experience was worth the investment. The meticulous planning, the on the ground engagement and finally the package delivery.

Excellent experience dealing with Explorer Kenya Tours & Travel
5/5

I booked a 7 day safari trip for my family scheduled to start in late June 2020, back in January 2020. Sadly, with the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic, I made a decision to cancel the trip in early April. Therefore, the only experience I have had with Explorer Kenya was through emails with Robert Murigi, but based on that experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Robert is very professional, knowledgeable, efficient and conscientious. Initially when I was researching I reached out to a number of tour operators, but Robert really stood out by the promptness and completeness of his answers to my emails. I felt very comfortable dealing with him and felt confident about making a booking with them and sending a deposit for the trip. When I made a difficult decision to cancel the trip in early April, the request was promptly dealt with and my deposit was refunded within days. The whole experience has been so smooth and first rate. I have 100% confidence in them and I am already looking forward to contacting them again about booking a safari trip when Covid-19 is under control and the travel becomes safe again.

I was blessed with the opportunity to become immersed in the heart and soul of Kenya and its people.
5/5

One Horizon was spot on in providing me with a safe, comfortable environment that gave me the joy of experiencing the true Kenyan spirit.
I experienced projects that included the Empowerment of Women, a Day with the Masai, Farming program for Grandmas, and a visit to one of the schools supported by One Horizon. All of my tours left me feeling FULL from the connection I had with my new Kenyan friends. One Horizon allowed me to be a part of a socio-culture experience that made me feel like I had a connection with both the people, culture and environment.

Learning about the traditions, struggles and joys of the Kenyan women and families has encouraged me to bring travelers to One Horizon and their tour opportunities several times in the past three years. I hope to continue sharing the connection and opportunity to support the lives of my Kenyan friends. I walk away from each experience knowing I have become a better person through my interactions provided by One Horizon.

Needless to say, I give One Horizon my highest recommendation for a life changing experience. Just do it....they will take care of you.

Unforgettable! Will go down as one of the best, if not the best, vacation ever.
5/5

This adventure more than met my expectations. I jumped on board at a friend's suggestion but had never placed Africa on my bucket list. What a mistake! This trip was the best. Our local/stateside rep, Amy, kept us posted on when and how to prepare, and traveled with us. How fortunate to have a go-to person with us. Eric Otieno met us at the airport and never left us. He stayed in the same lodges and drove one of the three safari jeeps.

We ventured out on game drives almost daily, yet somehow fit in cultural, educational, and philanthropic activities. In addition to exciting game drives, we visited a tea farm (think we're all tea drinkers, now), local tribal villages, Karen Blixen's (Out of Africa) house, and the Giraffe Center, which has successfully preserved the Rothschild Giraffe (Yea!).

Favorite ventures: Nanyuki Spinners, a self help program for at-risk girls, where the weavers create quality products and explain each step; Ol Pejeta Rhino Sanctuary, where we saw the last two remaining Northern White Rhinos, and Dr. Jane Goodalls' Chimpanzee Rescue site where, Poco, a rescued chimp put on quite a show.

I was prepared to rough-it a little on the accommodations, but no need, they were top notch.

Can I do it all again?

Our safari was perfectly organized. One of the best experiences of my life. thank you
5/5

Thank you for this wonderful safari. Kiliholidays was perfect. Mack was professional, helpful, very very friendly, and on time.
Thomas, our guide, speaks English very well and has given us a lot of his specialist knowledge of the landscape and animals. Because of his local knowledge and his look, we saw elephants, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffalos, flamingos, hyenas, hippos and and and. And even a successful two lion hunt.
The accommodations were wonderful and the food excellent.
I highly recommend kiliholidays and Thomas.
Thanks a lot. Esther and Clemens

Our most memorable tour in Kenya
5/5

We were eight travel agents on a Kenyan safari enjoying one of the most incredible and exciting experiences of our careers. Seeing animals in the wild is something we think everyone should experience once in their lifetime. But the highlight for all of us was meeting Colin Murray and his One Horizon project. We had booked an excursion for Nairobi called Farm to Feast. We were picked up by Colin, who took us to pick up piglets (paid for by the cost of our excursion) to be delivered to grandmothers who are raising their grandchildren in difficult conditions. We met the ladies, visited their community garden, and went to one of their homes and helped them prepare a traditional feast for us. The food was fabulous, we danced and sang and fell in love with the ladies. One Horizon Africa was easy to work with and provided for us with a most memorable day. We have all recommended One Horizon Africa to our clients who visit Nairobi.

Amazing
5/5

We lived and worked in Kenya for some years. Therefore, it was no challenge for us to go and visit places along well-trodden paths. However, when it came to exploring East Africa beyond that, we relied on Adventure Expeditions. Thanks to the intimate knowledge of the region, the organization skills and the well-established co-operation network of Diana and Richard, we experienced the unexpected in Kenya, Uganda and on Zanzibar. We highly recommend their tailor- made travels, the good mix of adventure and comfort, nature and culture - not to forget the friendly and experienced drivers/ guides who are equally skilled in tracking the Big Five and providing insights into local cultures. We hope to return soon for yet another adventurous expedition!

It was amazing experience, never can imagine that Maasai life is like this.

Communication is friendly and professional at the same time, service was fully adjusted to the individual needs it was more than we expected. The safari tour is our life experience.

I continuously share information about this project among university students during my lectures in the field of business communication.

This is great example of the humanitarian project that includes local community needs. Students like the idea very much. We all can learn about patience, empathy and hard work from all of you. I wish you a lot of success!

The most inspirational moving experience ever
5/5

I booked 2 full day experiences in Kenya and both days far exceeded my expectations. My first day was just me and my guide and we visited the Grandmas Project.i was so inspired with One Horizon and all they do on their programs to make the participants self sufficient. I met with and shared lunch with the Grandmas and listened to their remarkable stories. I will never forget them.
My second day there were 3 of us plus our guide and we visited a Maasai family and once again sat with them and listened to their incredible stories. I have such admiration for these wonderful people. For me the fact that I had actually helped these families by my visit made me feel good. I cried both days and have so much admiration for them and the amazing work One Horizon do. This us a MUST DO for everyone heading to Nairobi.
