Discover Africa delivers every step of the way on custom safaris!
Though seasoned travelers, our safari was a trip that my husband and I had been dreaming of for years. Not wanting to go with a preplanned itinerary or with a tour group, we decided to do a private, custom tour and sought a safari tour company that could take our ideas and help us refine them into the perfect trip for us without being put into the cookie-cutter mold that many safari companies offer even on their custom trips. After talking with several tour operators, we came upon Susan Swanepoel at Discover Africa. What a find! She listened and patiently helped us put together the perfect itinerary for us. She answered our numerous questions, responded quickly despite the time difference, and gave honest feedback on ideas and camps without trying to push her own company's agenda. After booking, and all during the trip, she was there. The same was true of every single person we interacted with from Discover Africa - if they were picking us up from the airport, they were there waiting. When we mentioned we'd like to eat where the locals do in Arusha on our one-day layover before heading to the bush, our local contact set it up and ate lunch with us. When we messaged Susan with a small change we'd like to make halfway during the trip, she made it happen. The private guides she helped us arrange at every camp were tremendous. Every aspect of the trip was seamless. Being used to having to manage our own flight transfers, getting through immigration on our own, solving any issues that might arise ourselves etc. what a pleasant surprise to have someone with us every step of the way without being on an organized tour. Susan checked in with us almost daily to make sure everything was going as we expected. I would highly recommend Discover Africa, and Susan in particular, to anyone looking to 'do their own thing' on safari - fantastic tour operator!

Unforgettable honeymoon safari
Me and my wife went on Safari with Suricata for our honeymoon and it was by far the best trip we’ve ever been on. Suricata were fantastic from start to finish organising airport transfers. The highlight was our safari guide Rocky; he was an amazing guy and fantastic guide, keeping everyone entertained always; he had incredible eyesight and we were able to see the best of all of the parks and we were because of him we were able to see the big 5 and much more.
The accommodation was beautiful, especially the Suricata Boma Lodge and the Ang’ata camps. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was delicious and the chef was fantastic. Tanzania is the most beautiful country we’ve seen and when we come back we will do so with Suricata.

once in a lifetime experience
One of the most memorable tour of our life., we as a family enjoyed to the fullest everything about tanzania., the jungle , the wild animals, the stay in tents in open jungle in serengeti and lions and hyenas roaming around tents the entire night., and ofcourse the zanzibar beaches and wild life encounter at cheetah rock., not to forget swimming with sea turtles and horse in zanzibar., for the first time we came across a site, where we got names of 3 different travel agency with different quotes to compare., nice concept and everyone planning himself should make use this idea. overall, a beautiful trip with humble peoples and wild animals. thanx

Uganda is Indeed the Pearl of Africa
I was born & raised in Uganda. Though living abroad for many years, had forget how beutiful my country is. Wild life is breathtaking if you are lucky to see all the CATS. We managed to see a leopard within100m it was the best experience with my grand kids. The new road from Masindi town, thru the park makes the trip worth while. Safety is no quastion where ever in the park you are. The only issue is opening hours in the park. If your stay is outside the park, They open at 6.30 & it takes tyme with the paper work. By the tyme you start off to the game drive, most of the CATS have already hunted, eaten and asleep. Plse note: Its very very rare to see a Lion after 7 otherwise the trip was even more fruitful visiting the Rhino sanctuary on the way to Masindi.

Once a life good experience!
We love Botswana and our trip. It is a very organized trip, from beginning to the end. Service is great, people in the camps are very nice and responsible; delicious and veritable of local food; dinner tables set in front of the water pit, we can see animals group by group coming to drink water; great scenery , we saw many kind of animals , unique Africa trees, sunrise and sunset , etc. Our tour operator is very experienced and worked super hard to satisfy every customer. They often gave extra time if they found we are interested, never rushing, weather is hot, but temperature drop in the early morning and night. At night, you can hear the sound from animals but it is safe.

Beautiful throughout, people and nature
The part we visited around Mombassa is so beautiful. The old town is certainly worth visiting and at the beaches around you can swim and enjoy the sun.
We went for a safari with Mosaic Tours to Tsavo East and West. A dream come true. We saw the big five close by. It was impressive and beautiful.
Around and in Mombasa you can find nice hotels, cottages and resorts for reasonable prices. It is divers and save.
We also made a 4 day trip tu Lamu Island. A beautiful island with a lot of history. No cars and tuktuks but donkeys and Boda Boda,s. You can make a day trip with an original dhow (original sailingboat). And if you like even catch some fish.
The Kenia that I got to know is worthwhile visiting. The people are so friendly and warm, colourful and helpful. I will certainly come back next year to discover more.
