Impressive landscape, wide variety of wildlife, unique grasslands and close encounters with wildlife, very friendly guides and staff at park lodgings. Very friendly staff and clean lodgings at Kenzan Kisura Camp.

The Serengeti National Park was a highlight of our Tanzania trip, as we got to experience the herds migrating. We saw so much in only 4 days - 35 lions (many in trees), leopards, hyenas, a serval, a few kills and huge herds of elephants, giraffe, zebra and gnu.... as far as the eye could see. It was exhilarating, and you often find yourself alone with no one else around, just the Serengeti plains stretching in front of you.

If you want to see some big predator cats or other big game, you realy have to go to the Serengeti. It has a higly amount of lions and there are alot of cheeta's. For seeing a leopard you need a little bit of luck and a good guide.
It also has an increasing amount of elephants and giraffes.

But other than some big and amazing animals it also has a real divers sceanery. Sometimes its realy amazing to see how the landscape is changing. From real African savanna to a rocky area or a very green and wet place.

This is a huge and extremely large plain. They are calling as endless plain. You see many times the mirage as it is hot and so flat. The animals are chasing the water and the carnivors are chasing the others who are seeking the water. So the life is going like this. Although there are hundreds maybe thousands of safari cars, they are all dissappeared in the endless plain and no one is disturbing the others.

Visited the northern Serengeti, this was our first visit, knew what to expect but viewing it in real-time was overwhelming. Was keen to photograph the 3 big cats and they duly obliged, our leopard and cheetah sightings were incredible. Possibly got better Lion images in Tarangire.
All expected mammals were observed and photographed, and the birds were pretty impressive too, although I am not a specialist. Generally it was apparently quieter than other parts of The Serengeti (views of other travellers), which suited us. The exclusive use of a vehicle always helps in terms of species targeted, photographic opportunity and the capacity to avoid crowds. We hoped to see a 'River Crossing' but it wasn't to be, despite several near misses. Our main criteria for a successful camp is the potential quality of wildlife viewing available, so we don't get too excited about swimming pools, wi-fi provision etc. In fact it is, to us quite nice to leave a few creature comforts
Read more at home, it adds to a truly authentic safari experience.
We stayed at Sayari Camp which was of a very high quality in all areas and thoroughly enjoyed a 3 night stay. We will return to The Serengeti soon to hopefully witness a 'River Crossing'. The Serengeti certainly lives up to it's reputation as one of the world's top wildlife destinations, a remarkable eco-system.

A well maintained park with teeming wildlife. Roads are very rough and dusty. Toilets and lunch areas well maintained and clean . No off road allowed so areas are in good condition. Great weather.

Wow- it really is fantastic. I only knocked the birding because, like Ngorongoro, it takes a lot of effort to go birding here if you really want to rack up the species. But there are fantastic birds like bustards, Secretarybirds, zillions of eagles and storks, etc.

Nature at its best!

This was our first safari. We did first Lake Manyara, then Serengeti, and finally Ngorongoro. I think this is the best sequence.
Serengeti is huge! Distances are long, so if you are expecting a zoo-like experience with an animal at any corner, you will be disappointed. We spent two full days and spotted lots of lions, zebras, wildebeests, antilopes, elephants, buffalos, ... No rhinos, but I don't think they are present in the Serengeti. On top of that the scenery ("Serengeti" means "large plains" in Swahili) is absolutely wonderful. Spotting a lion atop a "kopje" is unforgettable!
More crowded than Lake Manyara, but much, much less than Ngorongoro.
