Incredible experience, tremendous value
From the moment we left Johannesburg and made our way to the Greater Kruger Park area, we felt the familiar thrill of returning to a place that stirs something deep within us. The bush has a way of calling you back—and once again, it did not disappoint.
No sooner had we arrived to our Viva safari experience than we were off on our first game drive. It was immediate immersion. We witnessed the raw power of a leopard—his impala meal draped high in a tree, a stunning display of strength and survival. Not far off, we found him again, lounging in the branches, regal and relaxed, as if granting us a rare, personal audience. It was unforgettable.
As the sun dipped low, we were gifted one of the most breathtaking sunsets we’ve ever seen. The sky painted itself in warm, fiery hues—nature’s backdrop to the untamed beauty of the bush. Later that evening, we encountered a pride of lions intently watching a herd of water buffalo just beyond a game fence. The stare-down was intense. The buffalo, visibly agitated, held their ground. It was nature’s drama, unfolding before us.
Our days were filled with both game drives and bush walks—each one a masterclass in ecology. We learned so much, not only about the Big Five, but about the entire ecosystem, from industrious termites to vibrant birdlife. Every creature plays a role, and every moment taught us something new.
Beautiful country, beautiful animals and beautiful people!
South Africa was an experience of a lifetime. We did not see much of Johannesburg as we left for a safari in Sabi Sands. Learned a lot about the local culture and did a scenic tour of the canyon and waterfalls. Food was excellent everywhere we ate! The scenery is stunning. We had a guide every step of the way, so I am unsure of the safety of the area if we were on our own.

The entire experience was beyond our expectations!
Our entire trip was beyond our expectations! Our guide, Henry, was the best. He had fascinating stories and knowledge about the birds and animals. The accommodations were lovely. We were fortunate to see many, many animals thanks to our guide's knowledge as to where to locate them. Overall, it was an amazing trip.

Amazing wildlife, food and a fantastic experience
We stayed at Rissington Inn and it was great. The time to the gates for Kruger national Park werent long and it was a really relaxing place to stay and still in nature. The Kruger game drives were great, we got to see the big 5 with a couple of close encounters (in a good way).

Do it
It’s not easy to get to, but once you’re there, you’ll be glad you came. I took a night safari, a full day safari in Kruger National Park, a short tour in Johannesburg, and a few days in Cape Town. I could easily have spent more time in each location. I stayed in a camp (MoSafai), and I enjoyed that. Not luxurious by any means, but well organized with everything in the tent connected to a private bathroom with shower and hot water.

South Africa has stunning wildlife, terrific food and really friendly people.
South Africa is a fantastic destination for a safari. We went to Sabi Sands and had a magical time and were really well looked after. The wildlife was breathtaking and the staff went above and beyond. Had a few days in Johannesburg as my husband works there. The South Africans are absolutely delightful, I felt so welcomed and the food is superb. All the locals are very friendly however there is a high crime rate in Johannesburg so you can't really wander off and explore. Having said that we did a bus tour which was very interesting and we learnt a lot about the city. There is also a nice shopping mall. My husband went to Capetown on business and loved it, stunning place.
