There are many parks in South Africa. Some boast of the big five, some are quiet and have lovely scenery. So you have much opportunity to chose what you want.
In 2010 we spent 16 days insides parks and now, in 2012, even 19 days.
If we stay healthy this won't be the last time.
Sometimes you must be patient or lucky. As we travelled from north to south in Kruger last april (14 days) we saw our first lonely lion only after 7 days! The next day we saw some 12 lions in front of our car!

South Africa is a gorgeous country with rich history and friendly people. The only downside to south africa is their car watchers in bigger cities like Cape Town. They are extremely aggressive and often times, demanding of tips. It became annoying having to deal with someone who would "watch" your car while you ran into the store and then have to tip them for fear they would become angry/hurt you.

For an American, South Africa exceeded all of our expectations. The wine country near Cape Town was very scenic and friendly.

Our guide was kind and well informed, pointing out all the hidden treasures of Zulu Nyala.
Beautiful country

We return every year to South Africa, it has spectacular scenery and the hospitality is amazing, no to mention the Safari experience!

The wildlife I saw exceeded my expectations and the Veldt is beautiful. The area we were in at Idube had a great 'Bush Vibe' with its off road tracking and drives. There was less bird life about than I expected in July.

South Africa is unlike any place I've ever been. It is beautiful in a way I never imagined. I came away with a greater appreciation for its variety of wildlife and how important it is to protect these animals in their environment.

South Africa is a beautiful, friendly, country that has something for everyone. Although I have not experienced Safaris elsewhere, South Africa seems to have all the animals anyone would want to see (penguins included!). I'm not a birder so I'm fairly unsure as to what the variety is although the lilac breasted roller is the most beautiful bird I've ever seen.

You can find very nice cities, and in a few hours on the road, you are in the middle of the wildlife.
