Tanzania’s southern parks at the end of the rainy season

I had been already twice in Tanzania but never visited the southern NP. Great experience, very few people, nice scenarios and a green landscape since we were there just when the rainy season was ending.

We did a wondeful holiday with this company, thoughtful and well organized. The reservation of the safari was very easy with Martha.
The team has been careful from the moment we landed at Kilimanjaro Airport. Always helpful and flexible.

We enjoyed 5 marvellous safari days with Franky (the best guide in Tanzania - eagle's eyes :))

Also the accomodation they chose were fantastic with a wonderful view and service!

A unique experience - with a team that pampers you in the middle of a wonderful nature!

Ahsante sana!!!

Close encounters with wild and very relaxed animals

If you want to see wildlife and get really close to elephants, buffaloes, lions, hippos, hyenas and several more species of mammals and birds - come to Tanzania! We visited Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro on our four day itinerary with a six person jeep and basic accomodation.
Our guide and driver Godlove was excellent, spotting and explaining a plethora of animals - most impressive for me was his ability to name ALL the many birds very precisely. Our cook Marley created new and tasty four course menues every day and managed to satisfy the wishes of the meat lovers in our group AND of us vegetarians.
It was merely amazing how close you can get to all the animals and how relaxedly most of them watch you back (apart from most of the birds and zebras who would always get a few metres inbetween them and us).
If you come from central Europe and are used to fixed treaties - you will maybe feel more satisfied with your trip if you let some expectations more loose..
Read more We recommend to take a tour operator from Tanzania. We had one from Kenya with a bureau in Arusha. The reasons for booking that special tour were some promises that the bureau in Arusha was not wanting to hold: a visit to Olduvai Gorge was to be included (already paid), two nights in Serengeti were in the description, game drive in Ngorongoro should have lasted till the afternoon - none of this was happening. Adding to the disappointment was that the bureau in Arusha didn't pay for the Lake Manyara camping site through the weeks before we went so at the camp site they won't let us leave on the next morning until payment was assured - making up to a delay of two hours before we started the journey to Serengeti, when we had expected to start with an early morning game drive there. It took a few nerves and some e-mails untill we got a fair refund for the promises not held.
If you are relaxed about basic accomodation I really recommend you book a camping safari - it's so beautiful to wake up to footsteps outside (an elephant in our case) and "talking" hyenas (who will raid the dustbins). And you better get an excellent driver like Mr. Msemo who "rides" the dirt roads like nothing.
If you want to get in touch with your own wild nature - come to Tanzania!

Amazing experience!

Great variety of wildlife, beautiful scenery, great weather. Accommodations were average, East Africa tends to be less westernized. Food quality varied but was generally decent. Our guides were not as knowledgable as we would have liked but probably would have been fine for people with less questions about animal behavior, etc. Serengeti is incredible, Ngorongoro Crater is amazing as well. Tarangire is great for elephant lovers. Lake Manyara was a bit disappointing compared to the other parks.

Amazing Safari Experience

We had an amazing safari experience with Dusty Roads Safaris - all of the representatives of the company that we met were great and our guide Joseph was fantastic. We did a 2-day / 1 night safari to Tarangire and Ngorogoro Crater. Both days were fantastic, the scenery, the wildlife and the lodge (Eileens Tree) were all great. As for the wildlife we saw tons of lions, buffalos, elephants, giraffes, a rhino and her baby and countless other things. Safari bookings was a great tool to book with. Highly recommend all involved.

The nature of Tanzania is beautiful. We had an excellent guide who showed us a diverse animal world. Hotels on the safari were not bad, but the hotels in the country itself are terrible. In general, the safari was pleasant.

It was a once in a life time opportunity for me and I was not disappointed!

The wildlife was great, got the opportunity to see all that I was expecting to see. Our guide was terrific, don't think we could have had anyone better, thanks, Gilli! The weather was wonderful. The accommodations were great, food was very good, although accommodating my daughters food restrictions were not as well attended to as I would have hoped. Overall our safari experience was wonderful.

The safaris and the landscape are very beautiful but the organisation is most of the time very bad

4 / 5 4 /5

The safari's in Tanzania are really beautiful. And there is enough wildlife to spot. I had three joined safaris in every safari i met new and interesting people. The gids are well informed. Even through not every gids is a good chauffeur.
My only warning is the organisation. A lot of so told organisations are really just one guy with a computer and a telephone. And the drop you bij friends of them to fill up a car. That's not a big problem but there is no structure and organisation. So you have to ask every day multiple times with car you have to get and where you're going. Sometimes you find yourself getting in three day in three divergent cars and in every car other people.

Lovely safari in Selous Game Reserve - but too short!

We had ordered a 3 days safari in Selous Game Reserve and the program was great except for the morning flight was leaving at 2.pm and the rivertrip started very late. The lodge was beautiful and the service excellent, but the stay was too short. The safari was top, but we didn’t se more than 2 of the great 5, because of the rain. The third day we had to go to the airport at 9 am because the plane was arriving one hour too early.
