Love Zanzibar and 3 nights is not enough. Swim with dolphins, reef walking and cooking lunch with locals are our highlights!
Friendly locals and easy to navigate around on a scooter. Lovely weather too.

We found Zanzibar disappointing. Wildlife was exploited and getting anywhere on this island took so long. Was good to visit but would not return.

There's only one protected area for wildlife and that is home to a golden-backed monkey. I wouldn't describe Zanzibar as a safari destination, but as a place to get away from the safari mentality and relax. There are beaches to the north and Stone Town to look around so it's certainly worth staying a few days.

Zanzibar is the place to go for relaxation and historical/spice tours. Beautiful island and great old town. Fascninating.
