Chobe and Kwai are unique ways of doing safaris. Where the water and not the savana takes the protagonism. Expect to see lot of elephants in chobe playing in the river, while at Kwai you can find them with hippos and crocs on the flooded land. Suvuti in the middle offers a more traditional safari where big cats can be easily seen. Leopards are present in all of the 3 and we saw them even eating a fresh impala breakfast.

We travelled to Botswana with 6 family members to do a mobile safari for my partners 30th.
We had the best week ever. We saw so much wildlife. The people were amazing. Our safari company (Enjanga) was absolutely incredible.
Camping with close friends, amazing locals and tour guide, fabulous food and abundant wildlife in beautiful Botswana. It literally could not have been better….
I can’t wait to go back!

We enjoyed a lot the trip. We didn't know a lot of Botswana before, but all the people were friendly and we felt welcome. The guides were motivated and had fun to search for the animals. And we saw plenty of them. Usually no long searching for it we're necessary to see something. In South Africa also inside a camp we had to drive much more to spot something. I can really recommend Botswana. We were in Chobe and Okavango Delta.

The flight schedules of Botswana's airline change frequently, causing me a lot of trouble with my itinerary. The quality of service provided by local travel agencies is not good.

We spent 9 nights in Botswana in the Okavango delta region in late July-early Aug 2025. We have done many safaris in different countries, but this was our first time in Botswana and first experience in a mobile camping. We truly loved it. Our safari was organised by Kingfisher Safaris.
We flew from Maun to Khwai River concession where we spent our first 3 nights. Our camping site was at the margin of Mbudi river, where we had a relaxing mokoro trip. This place is magical, wildlife sightings are great, we saw loads of hippos (George, a solitary one was our neighbour!), large groups of lions with cubs (during day and night drives) and also feeding on a zebra (we didn't see the kill), wild dogs with very young puppies, buffalos, wildebeests and many antelopes. We had a 45-min helicopter flight with Helicopter Horizon to have a better overview of the delta and it was just amazing. This was the busiest area in terms of number of cars we encountered during the drives of the three

we visited. In some occasions there were too many cars on a sighting for my liking, particularly if involved leopard or lion. We then moved to Mababe (Chobe National Park) for another 3 nights and the wind was quite cool, particularly in the morning. Sunrises and sunsets were amazing, the very dark sky (new moon) was perfect for stargazing and we saw many shooting stars, satellites and a very clear milky way. We saw hienas, large herds of giraffes and elephants with very young ones, many interesting birds, roan antelope, and a lot more, but not big cats (probably due to the cold spell). Our last camp site was Xiini in Moremi Reserve, where we saw leopards three times (including walking straight to our camp and in the evening catching an owl from its nest on a tree just on the side of our camp). We also saw cheetahs twice (once with cubs feeding on an impala) and many lions, including one pride of 9 lions encountering a herd of elephants... And more. This is a beautiful location with loads to see!
