A great experience in two amazing Kenyan parks

Kenya is a fantastic country. Even with a short stay (1 week) you can feel the strength (and some of the problems) of this country. We have visited two parks (Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara) with a competent guide (Geff provided by Kameraz of Africa, our tour operator). Beside the amazing scenery of wild animals living their wild life (lions are simply specials in particular when they look to you from a branch of a tree on which they rest !) , the kindness and efficiency of the staff in the lodges is remarkable. We were a bit puzzled by the Masai culture, go and decide yourself ! Two days in Nairobi were an interesting part of the trip. It gives you the feeling of a dynamic country with a lot of things going on. There are things to see in the city and around. The National Museum is great, feeding a giraffe is a nice experience even if you are not a kid. If you have time do not miss a visit to a coffe farm. To learn everything from the trees and their difficult life in the troubled period of
Read more climate change to the roasting of the grain (and finish with a coffee tasting !) is quite an experience.. You can go hiring an Uber taxi for half a day or so. Well.....the downside of Nairobi is the traffic. Difficult to explain if you do not see with your eyes. We felt safe everywhere (we did not do anything unreasonable !) . For eating there is quite a choice. One more thing for the scenery. The high land around 2500 m (even higher sometime) all green and farmed is a scenery not to miss. Conclusion, a trip not to miss !

The visit in Kenya was very well organized. Visiting the three parks, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara was impressive and would not want to miss one of it. I would definitely suggest to everybody not to miss Lake Nakuru although it is smaller, but the scenery and the bird life are beautiful. The lodges were perfect for us and the drives excellent.

Beautiful Country with Kind People

I had a wonderful two weeks in Kenya in July 2023. I traveled with my partner and four of our friends. We visited Diani Beach, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and Maasai Mara. The people in Kenya are so hospitable and friendly. We experienced beautiful weather in the mid 70s on safari and low 80s at the beach. We had an amazing tour operator, Flash MCTours. Our driver was very knowledgeable and took great care of us. The tour company owner, Peter, was always available for any questions that we had. We saw such amazing animals. We were lucky to see the big five, we watched a monkey being born, the wildebeest migrating, and saw many babies as well as adult animals. We really enjoyed our boat ride to Crescent Island on Lake Naivasha. Being up close and personal walking with giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, gazelles, etc. was beautiful. Diani Beach was gorgeous. The sand is so white and soft and the water was warm, and so blue. I cannot wait to go back to Kenya.
We also enjoyed several days in Nairobi. The shopping, restaurants, and culture was fantastic.

Amazing Place to visit

The safari was amazing. Everyone from the driver to the hotel staff were so friendly and keen to talk about what you had seen but if you did not want to talk happy to leave you alone. I was able to see the Big 5 but also so much more which I was not expecting which made the trip so wonderful. I also went to the coast and went snorkelling / Suba diving was able to swim with dolphins, turtles and even saw a Humpback whale with a calf. I would recommend Kenya as a place to visit.

When you picture an African landscape with abundant wildlife and sweeping plains, you picture Kenya. Its outstanding beauty and breathtaking vistas are only enhanced by the warm, friendly people we met. Everything from the landscape, animal airings and accommodation exceeded our expectations and we cannot wait to return.

I was travelling with a Kenyan friend and we treated ourselves to a three day private safari in the Masai Mara. We absolutely loved everything about it. Our guide was excellent and really friendly. We visited a Masai village which felt like a real privilege and the camp we stayed in was excellent. In just one day we saw lions, elephants, buffalo, zebra, antelopes, wildebeest, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, cheetah, warthogs, hyenas and stunning birds. The scanty is beautiful and really quite open. We enjoyed a picnic by the Mara river and a short walk on foot (guides with rifles available). While visiting my friends’ family, we did our own safari drive in Lake Nakuru National Park- it was l late afternoon/ early evening and just beautiful. It was really exciting to see rhinos amongst a herd of buffaloes and lions which were really active rather than lounging in the sun. It was sad to see the effects of climate change though- my friends remember the lake being pink with flamingos when they

Aside from safaris, my real highlight were the Kenyan people and their hospitality - I feel very lucky to have friends who helped me to discover their beautiful country, traditions and culture. I feel sure I will be back.

Superb Safari

Safari in different areas is worthwhile.
Masai and Amboseli are both brilliant and work visiting. Amboseli in particular is amazing for the volume of hippos and elephants.
Lake Nakuru was great for watching the rhinos, flamingos.
Hell's gate was a little disappointing.
I loved Tsavo West - thick grass/bushes, red soil - so different from other areas, yet good wildlife, and we finally saw a leopard ! Not as much wildlife as other areas, but still enjoyable. It is a bit more of an adventure.

Make sure you take new $100 bills (2017), as the old ones (1999) are sometimes not accepted!

Early starts are worthwhile on safari.
