This was one of the few places to see flamingos and they were my favorite part. The water almost looked completely pink because there were so many flamingos.

Lake Manyara was my first introduction to African wildlife outside of a zoo setting. I was in awe. The variety and numbers of animals we saw was great. The scenery was beautiful & diverse - wooded areas full of monkeys & birds, wetlands and vast open plains each had a unique experience to offer.

The Lake Manyara Serena Lodge gives you an excellent view of the Lake Manyara area of Serengeti. The accommodations are excellent, with a pool located on a ledge overlooking this vast wildlife habitat.

We only had a relatively short time in the Park but certainly enjoyed both the scenery and all the elephants.

Thick vegetation makes it hard to see wildlife well. Only a few areas where lots of wild life can be seen.

So much beauty! Wildlife abounds! Each time you start to think the search for another animal is starting to take time, something appears!

This was our first day on safari, and we didn't spend as long here as we did in other parks. We had a boxed lunch watching Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley. We are not birders – but no one could fail to be impressed with the all the birds -red and yellow barbet hopping around our feet, a weaver bird finishing off a nest a few feet from us, several other species with spectacular colours. After lunch, we drove around the park and saw our first zebras (babies too), giraffes (babies too), impalas (babies too), buffalos, warthogs and flamingoes from a distance. Many elephants and babies. On the way out, we stopped to watch a family of baboons, and later a family of Vervet monkeys.

The lake level is continually being depleted for agricultural interests and as such the ability to see hippo, flamingos and other water reliant species are being diminished. This park can be bypassed if on a tight schedule and/or budget. I rate this park Fair for wildlife photography.
