Namibia is a land of contrasts, its diverse landscapes unfold beautifully along long road journeys. We were lucky: after years of drought, the country experienced heavy rains, transforming the desert into a blooming spectacle of flowers and colors. Wildlife isn’t limited to national parks; with a bit of luck, you might spot animals even along the road. Most travelers opt for self-drive—a truly rewarding choice. And above all, Namibia is a safe country with warm, welcoming people.

Being our first time in Namibia and actually Africa, we knew it would be great but we didnt know it would be THAT GREAT! From friendly locals to comfortable lodges to great food and drinks to surperb wildlife experiences to surreal scenery ranging from the sand dunes to the coast to the grass plains in Etosha, everything exceeded our expectations!!
All our friends and family were concerned about our safety, being 2 Asian girls driving around Africa for the first time but we felt safe and were also constantly taken care of or reminded by friendly locals to take care of our belongings.
Best experiences (being city girls) include climbing and sliding down sand dunes directly into deadvlei, random wildlife sightings, superb birding opportunities everywhere, befriending friendly Damara ppl and learning about their way of life at Damara Living Museum, eating the best Apple Pie at Solitaire and definitely tracking down wildlife at Etosha National Park and other

We recently visited Etosha National Park and the Namibian Desert, staying at the beautiful Gondwana Collection resorts. I left the travel arrangements to the last minute, but thankfully, Terry was incredibly helpful—she managed to organize the entire itinerary in record time!
Despite only having 6 days, we packed in so many unforgettable experiences. It was a bit rushed, but absolutely worth it. Etosha was teeming with wildlife, and the Namib Desert felt like something from another world—truly magical.
We traveled in May, which turned out to be the perfect time: the weather was warm but not too hot, making it ideal for exploring. Honestly, it’s one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been.

We recently had the pleasure of spending a 2 week self-driving holiday in Namibia. We did a 1800km clockwise loop that included the desert parks of the Namib desert, stops in Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, up the Skeleton ghost to the hiking and famed wildlife parks. The trip exceeded our expectations in Namibia's beauty and ease of travel. In addition to the world class parks of outstanding beauty and excellent wildlife viewing, we experienced the warmth and friendliness of the Namibian people. Wherever we went, we were greeted with smiles, and strangers that were willing to help.
Another surprise was the hiking options that were present in lots of the areas we visited. Etendeka hikes and camps were a real highlight, with the night skies being an unforgettable experience.
We are already counting the days until we return again to this fantastic country.

We took a 15 day driving tour from Windhoek and returned to Windhoek. We felt safe at all times, the service throughout the country was incredibly good!
See the Quiver Trees and Giants Playground, take your time and you might see some Hyrax (Daddies) - very cute.
I recommend skipping Ais Ais unless Gondwana have purchased it - very disappointing.
Luderitz is cute and the Nest Hotel is lovely - we had a room looking over the water - nicely placed.
Swakopmund is cute too - one night only tho, not much to see - we drove back to Walvis Bay for a seal cruise - was lovely but staying 2 nights in Swakopmund took a night away from Camp Kipwe - and that was very bad planning - Kipwe is incredible and deserves a minimum of 2 nights.
Etosha is great but we were not looking for Game, so although I found some fabulous Meerkats at the lodge - I would rather have stayed 2 nights at Otjiwa.

My recent safari holiday was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, the experience exceeded every expectation I had. The sheer variety of wildlife we encountered was breathtaking — I witnessed animals I’d only ever dreamed of seeing up close, which made each day feel magical.
The lodges were luxurious yet welcoming, providing the perfect balance of comfort and charm. Every meal was a culinary delight, and sharing it all with such wonderful travel companions only made the adventure more special. I was also pleasantly surprised by the weather — much milder than I anticipated, which made the excursions even more enjoyable. Especially lucky, it seems, as the dunes were reportedly ice-capped just days after our visit!
A huge thank you to everyone involved in organizing this unforgettable journey. Special mention to Christelle from Gondwana Tours & Safaris, who was an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout. She was always ready to
