Perfect intro to safari magic
Thank you to Moloko and MoAfrika for making a great day so easy! Was my first time on safari and will be back for a longer one. Easy booking and logistics topped by very comfortable vehicle and expert guiding.

Excellent and Informative Tour of Soweto
Tshepo was our wonderful guide taking us on a private tour of Soweto. As South Africans ourselves, we wanted to see some of the key sites that we have learned about as part of SA history. Despite being very familiar with the history of Soweto, this was a great tour as Tshepo did an excellent job of telling us things that we didn’t know. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the culture and history of Soweto!

Mo Afrika was Mo Awesome!
My family of four (husband and two 14 year-old girls) did the 15 day South Africa tour and it was amazing.
BACKGROUND
I'll start my review with the preparation work. I admit, I was very skeptical of doing everything online and via What's App. I had previously booked a two-week tour with another company based on a recommendation from friends who had done the exact same tour. Three months after I booked, the company went out of business, and I was back to square one. I did a TON of research to figure out which company to go with. Mo Afrika had the best two-week option for what I was looking for.
RESPONSIVE AND CARING
They were quick to respond via What's App and were very patient. I worked with both Lavendar and Rishen, and they were both excellent. They always answered my questions and were prompt. At one point my daughters left their charger bank and charger in a hotel in Joburg. They helped arrange for us to meet them on our return flight at the airport to return the items. This is attentive service we are talking about. Lavendar also took the time to get on a call with me before I booked to ease my concerns.
ACTUAL TOUR
The actual tour was amazing. Clearly, Mo Afrika outsources some of the tours to other, in-country companies. If you think that's a bad thing, you would be wrong. They selected some amazing partners, including Viva Safari in the Kruger area and Wild Horizons in Zimbabwe. One of the things I liked about the tour was the thought that went into how it was done. Staring in Cape Town was great. We stayed within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront and were able to walk in safely for dinners and shopping. It also allowed us to ease into our adventure with a city that was most like our own. We started with a half-day Cape Town tour that let us ease into our vacation. The next day was a full day CT peninsula tour where we were amazed by the seals and penguins, and overall Cape Town experience. Next, we did a full-day wine tour (we were unable to do the Robbens Island tour because it was closed, so they substituted the half-day wine tour for a full day -- it was awesome and great family bonding time.)
We next moved to Joburg for our tour of Soweto and had a great experience that included going into one of the emcampments and visiting a pre-school with our daughters. I don't want to say too much about this as I think it's something you just have to experience for yourself.
Our safari portion was very well thought out. We arrived at Tremisana Game Lodge, and it was great. We dropped our luggage and immediately went out for a sunset game drive. BAM! Our first game drive, our guide did a "Ferrari Safari" so we could see a leopard crossing the path in front of us. First of the Big Five and it was the toughest one to see! We proceeded to see other amazing sites, including, of course the "McDonalds" of the bush...
The next day we did a bush walk with Luke (the Camp Manager) and he was a great guide and we felt completely safe. We did additional drives at the Tremisana Game Lodge and were fortunate to see all of the Big Five there. The guides were amazing. Next we did a day in Kruger where we saw a lot of animals all together (at one poll we saw elephants, zebras, giraffes, impala, and even lions) all together.
What was amazing about the way they did this was that you got to experience the safari from different points -- the evening rides, the sunrise ride, the bush walk, etc. where you would see them up close at the smaller game park. Then Kruger gets you the big experience of seeing herds and/or groups of animals together. Our family now has many catch-phrases -- especially from Sunny at Kruger (It's a giraffey day! Wow!)
We next went to Victoria Falls and were greeted by Wild Horizons -- Mo Afrika's partner for this part of the trip. They kept the high quality going. We stayed at a beautiful resort, Elephant Hills and enjoyed the pool and spa. We even took advantage of a spa afternoon for our whole family.
The Falls were breathtaking and the guide was wonderful. We took our leisure day and two of us did the horse back riding safari (Great!) and a half day safari. We wanted to do the elephant encounter but it was booked -- so if you are thinking of doing that, I'd book in advance.
The trip to Botswana was great. The border crossing is long -- be prepared to wait for over an hour wait for border crossing. My advise if you do Botswana is get the multi-entry visa when you arrive at Victoria Falls. It will save you both time and money. In addition, if you have kids, you not only need their passports, but have their birth certifiates on your phone as you will need them.
We enjoyed the river cruise in the morning and would do that again However, we would have skipped the afternoon safari (we didn't see anything on the land cruise we hadn't seen before on the other parts of the tour) and would have missed the 90 minutes to get back through the border crossing. Plus we could have had a restful last afternoon before our journey home.
Overall, I would recommend this tour and Mo Afrika. It was an amazing, life experience for our family.
