A Great Safari in Uganda
4/5

We took a 3 day Gorilla Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with Green World Safaris. We stayed at Buhoma Lodge. It was a great place with hot showers and excellent food within a beautiful location. The food was good and in plenty.
Moses, our guide did very well on the bad roads. He was also knowledgeable of the local animals and also good at pointing out important landmarks. He quickly responded to any inconveniences we could find which made our trip a smooth holiday! He was really a nice driver and we are very grateful with the way our safari was conducted.

Responsible & Quick
5/5

The guys in this travel agency is quite impressive, comparing to other services I have experienced in Africa. What impressed me most is the immediate refund because of wrong information they gave me beforehand about minimal service charges at Mt. Nyiragongo. In addition, they have fixed or tried something to compensate whenever I have informed them inconvenient experiences with the hotels they have booked for me. Considering usual uncertainty here, it is quite impressive to see that they take care of customers with their bests. I bet you wouldn't regret to use their services.

A great adventure- small & locally owned
5/5

Simon provided us a great 2 night camping Safari in Chobe national park. The experience included a boat ride and many different drives around the park, where we got to see just about every animal that we could have hoped for ( elephants, zebras, giraffes, baboons, birds, hyenas, dung beetles, lions, etc). Camping was rustic but well prepared, and included good meals cooked over the fire, plenty of snacks, tea, and rain gear for when it started pouring. He even went above and beyond to accommodate our 18 month old on the adventures. The only downside of camping was lots of ants. Simon owns and operates Cape Fig Safaris and is exactly the kind of person you want to hire if you're looking to support a small locally owned Safari operation.

A pleasant surprise
Overall rating
4/5

The Mountain Zebra National Park was recommended to us by people we met in another park. We weren’t too convinced, but decided to go see for ourselves. What a pleasant surprise.

The park is surrounded by beautiful mountains, with a central grassland plateau, covered with wild flowers during the time we were there (April). Although most of the roads within the park are gravel, it’s well maintained and accessible to all motor vehicles. The rest camp has a number of cottages and a beautiful camp site. The cottages are quite modern, comfortable and well equipped for self-catering. The cottages are serviced daily. There is a restaurant and a well-stocked shop in the rest camp. The restaurant has a very basic menu. We did not visit the restaurant, as we self-catered. There is a swimming pool in the rest camp and another swimming pool in the separate picnic area.

We saw an abundance of mountain zebra, black wildebeest, springbok and blesbok on the grassland plateau. In the thicket surrounding the plateau, we saw gemsbok, hartebeest, kudu and eland. Most of the antelope in the park are easy to spot and they generally go about their business without giving much attention to the visitors. We fleetingly saw some black-backed jackals and two of the rhinos in the park. The best sighting however, was the two male lions. They walked within touching distance past our vehicle. To complete our list of sightings, we also saw monkeys, baboons, ground squirrels and a number of different bird species. Not seeing the cheetahs, hyenas or buffalo, was a bit of a disappointment. I would therefore recommend visitors to go on the guided game drives to improve their chances of seeing the more elusive animals.

I have visited a number of national parks in South Africa and would definitely recommend this park for its accommodation, beautiful scenery and abundance of animals. It is a small park and a three - to four night stay should be sufficient to explore the park and enjoy the scenery.
