Unforgettable Experience with Eastern Sun Safaris
5/5

Eastern Sun Safaris delivered on every level. We booked our 5 day Safari directly with them and Mercy was fantastic with her communication. We changed our dates and flight times on numerous occasions and Mercy just fitted in around our requests.
The accommodation we stayed in was recommended by Mercy and was a mixture of wild camping in tents with animals sounds sending you to sleep at night, as well as more established camps such as Olduvai Camp in the Nngorongoro region which has a beautiful setting around a Kopje ( an outcrop of large rocks). All the accommodation was fantastic.
The food at each camp was very tasty, especially when you realise that some of the camps are truly in the wild and the cooks are working with very basic equipment.
Hassan, our guide was a very safe driver which is important in this part of Africa as the roads are often dirt and can turn to slippery mud after the rains. He was amusing and the more we chatted to him the more knowledge he imparted to us.
We were keen to see the Wildebeest Migration so chose the southern part of the Serengeti as February/March is the time of year when the wildebeest are giving birth on the flat grasslands in the south. We were not disappointed and had many wonderful animals sightings with Hassan's knowledge of the Serengeti knowing where to go to see the best sightings..
I would wholeheartedly recommend Eatern Sun Safairs to anyone wanting to visit the Serengeti. It was an unforgettable experience.

One of The Best African Safaris Ever!!!!
5/5

My wife and I had been thinking of doing an African Safari Tour for some time and after a lot of research eventually settled on Wild Mind (primarily because they're one of the only tour companies that actually operates directly out of Tanzania. I was a bit shocked to find out during my research that most other tour companies simply hire out local guides and vehicles and aren't necessarily based in whatever country you're looking at touring). While Wild Mind is a relatively young tour company and definitely aren't as large as some of their competitors, the service was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable, the safari tour vehicle was state of the art and the food was great. We were able to see some stunning views and get up close to the wildlife. Tanzania is absolutely amazing! I honestly can't recommend these guys enough. If you're looking for a great African safari experience, I'd go with Wild Mind.

Wonderful and enriching experience!!!
5/5

Our trip was for 5 days covering Tarangire, Ndutu, Serengeti, Ngorongoro. This trip had very stunning parks/conservations with lots of animals/birds, beautiful weather and awesome nature viewpoints making it most memorable trip so far. This demands that other aspects of trip to match these standards as well to make entire trip an amazing experience which thanks to James(our guide) indeed happen. In our trip we not only saw big 5 and great wildbeest migration but many other wild animals including wild cats, hyneas, jackals, badgers, awesome experience of wildebeest giving birth moment, wild cats devouring their hunts, cubs playing around , gazels, bucks, monkeys, plenty of birds etc. James was very well informed about each of these species and he indeed helped us learn a lot about them when we realized how less we knew till then. James has terrific spotting skills, he could spot animals far off and often predict their actions. No doubt he could spot wildebeest among thousands of them just before she started giving birth to baby. All of us were very keen to take lot of photographs like many tourists there and so James would ensure to get us in nice spot for better perspective for photographs without disturbing/scaring animals off. He always made sure we spent time we want at each spot be it just viewing animals or taking plenty of photographs. James made our games drives very enriching experience. He is very professional guide and nice person. He made sure we were really comfortable and always checking anything more he could do to make our trip better. Accommodation and food was really comfortable and great all round the tour with camping at mountain top having lovely view. All of us very really happy to have our trip arranged through Lion king adventures. We will definitely plan our next safari trip in Tanzania with Lion king adventures with James as our guide.
Asante Sana James!!!

Great wildlife but didn't feel natural
Overall rating
4/5

Most likely wouldn't have written this if it wasn't for my mixed feelings. I'm glad I went there as a Tanzania safari is not complete with visiting the crater but it doesn't come even close to Serengeti. Yes, a lot of people complain about it being crowded with tourists but that wasn't the only problem. Seeing the Masai and their cattle right next to the wildebeest and zebras was also strange. Add to this the fact that the place is a small, very open enclosure hemmed in by mountains on all sides and you end up losing that "jungle" vibe that you get when you visit Serengeti or Tarangire.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's an excellent place to see wildlife-but the combination of geographic and human factors just make it feel like too much of a zoo.

I flew myself and a friend into Lebala Camp through Hank's Aero Self Fly Safaris. This was an amazing experience with the most beautiful wildlife. Everyone who saw my photos asked if they were postcards. I told them I took everyone with a 55-300 mm telephoto. The staff was awesome and I ate like a king! I have 10 friend who want me to fly them into the outback of Africa now! Summer of 2018 will be my next journey. Can't wait!! Thank you Botswana for being a true conservation country!

It was OK
3/5

I booked my tour with Dan from Kisoro Tours Uganda. The safari itself was good, I enjoyed the trekking and the gorillas, however, I did not like how at the last moment before our arrival Dan tried to raise the prices of our safari (250 USD extra per person, because he had to organize additional car - rental of additional car with the driver for 3 days is less than 200 USD in Uganda), which did not happen, but still the move left bad aftertaste in my mouth... I also was severely disappointed with the Broadbill Forest Camp - truly a terrible accommodation! Still not completed - 6 years after initiation, old tents, water trickling from the shower, no water in the toilet the last day, personnel without any idea about how to manage the camp and not familiar with the hospitality concept whatsoever, electricity only until 10 PM and then overwhelming darkness, microscopic food portions, on the trekking day we were served rice and vegetables as it was raining so nobody in the camp felt like going down to the village to buy some much needed proteins etc. Initially we were thinking we should have stayed in the forest longer than just 2 nights, but after seeing and experiencing the camp, we were glad that we didn't cater for longer stay. 2 other persons from our group were staying in a different location, which judging from their descriptions was much more liveable. Maybe Broadbill Forest Camp is comparatively cheaper to the organizers... My advise: go for Kisoro tours, but avoid the Broadbill Forest Camp!
