Our Soweto tour with Thomas was absolutely worth it. I feel that K got so much information about apartheid and how non-white people were treated - way beyond what a school curriculum could provide. The visit to the Soweto district was eye opening, as well as seeing a local kindergarden. We got everything the tour promised and more.

Our Amazing 5-Day Safari with a Toddler!
5/5

We just got back from the most incredible 5-day safari — and I’m so happy we went for it! This wasn’t our first safari, but it was our first time joining a group tour and our first with a toddler (we’d always done private safaris before, without kids). I have to say, it exceeded all our expectations!

Loyce was an absolute lifesaver. She organized this last-minute trip for us with our 2.5-year-old, was super responsive, and even offered to personally pick us up and have lunch together to make sure we wouldn’t miss our flight to the coast — such amazing service!

We booked a budget group tour, and honestly, I wasn’t sure how it would feel compared to private safaris — but the driver and the group were so friendly and welcoming, they made the whole experience even more fun. The accommodations were way better than we expected, and the local food was so delicious.

The Masai Mara was pure magic. We saw all the Big Five — lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and even a rhino (though the rhino was a bit far away in Nakuru, but still counted!).

If you’re thinking about a safari with young kids, I highly recommend Pounds East Africa Safaris — they made everything smooth and fun, even with a toddler. My only tip for families: maybe focus just on the Masai Mara, because adding other parks like Nakuru and Naivasha means long, bumpy drives that can be a bit much for little ones.

Arguably best Safari experience available today

African Big Cats, my guide Lovoi, and the administrator Emmanuel made my time in Tanzania an unforgettable and flawless experience. These guys are serious experts at their craft! My guide and driver, Lovoi, was absolutely proficient at navigating the country and national parks, teaching me about the animals, nature, and culture at every place we went. The accommodations and food were incredibly organized, clean, and comfortable, even when we stayed in the middle of the Serengeti national park. They really offer every single thing they describe on their website. All in all this company and the experience they provided exceeded my expectations and I am very grateful for their work. They’re truly worth every penny!

Awesome every aspect
5/5

We were a group of eight with two vehicles and all enjoyed every minute of the tour. We saw the BIG 5 along with so many experiences of the wildlife, the knowledge of our guides and their hawk eyes.
Our picnics were fun, tasty, hot meals with wine being available.
Sense of humor, courtesy goes a long way. Our surprise gifts were a bonus, as we're our accommodations!
Right from our contact with the tour operators via e mails we felt comfortable and confident that we chose the right company. We made no mistake...great memories, experiences Awesome !

Very accommodating. He tried his best for us to see as many of the big 5 as possible

The camp where we stayed was great. Breakfast, filling lunch and 4 course dinners so there was plenty to eat. We felt very welcome as guests and our hosts were lovely.
We did see 4 of the big 5 and got the chance to see some lions eating an elon thanks to our guide which is lucky.

Very attentive and careful. Excellent level of service, a true sense of Customer!
5/5

An intoxicating and unforgettable journey. From the top of the skies on helicopter tours, to dry land on jeep tours and hikes, gliding over the water in boats and, of course, in the emblematic Mokoro canoe.

Wildlife pulsates at its fullest—from towering predators to large and small herbivores to a profusion of birds. The vegetation, rich and vibrant, completes the show. All of this will remain with us forever, etched in memory.

Each experience harmoniously intertwined thanks to the meticulous attention, tireless commitment, precise coordination, and unparalleled dedication of Paul Mandaza of Afro Dawn Safaris—a special thank you to him.

A trip of a lifetime. A dream come true.

5/5

Stanley was our guide on the all day drive and he was wonderful. He was informative, friendly, and funny and pointed out even the bird. We saw most of the big 5. Enough bathroom breaks and a nice lunch spot. He made sure we had a great ride!
