Amazing adventure with Morningstar!
We recently (Feb) completed a 7-night safari through Kenya (Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli) and had an incredible experience from start to finish.
The booking process was excellent. Dennis was extremely responsive throughout and put together several different versions of our itinerary, giving us plenty of options to consider. Everything was presented professionally and clearly, making it easy to review the trip day by day and adjust activities and accommodation based on our preferences. We also appreciated that there was never any pressure to book, and the accommodation photos helped bring the itinerary to life.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the Masai Mara. We stayed at Zebra River Camp and were fortunate enough to receive an upgrade, which was a fantastic surprise. The Mara’s vast landscapes were breathtaking, and we were lucky enough to see almost everything we hoped for during our game drives.
A huge thank you goes to our guide and driver, Rono. He was knowledgeable, relaxed, professional and had a great sense of humour. As a couple travelling together, we really appreciated how he struck the perfect balance between giving us space and providing interesting insights about the wildlife, culture and parks. He was incredibly accommodating, always happy to adjust plans where possible, and his driving skills were impressive given some of the road conditions. He genuinely made the trip even more enjoyable.
One thing to consider when planning a safari like this is that there is a fair amount of driving between the different parks, particularly when covering multiple destinations. We were completely fine with this as we wanted to see as much wildlife and as many different areas as possible, but it is worth keeping in mind depending on your preferences and how comfortable you are with longer drives.
Lake Nakuru was another great stop, particularly for rhino sightings, while Lake Naivasha offered some fantastic variety. We thoroughly enjoyed cycling and hiking in Hell’s Gate National Park, as well as the boat trip and walking safari on Crescent Island. Amboseli was the perfect way to finish the safari, with huge numbers of elephants and some spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
All of the accommodation exceeded our expectations, and the food throughout the trip was consistently excellent with plenty of choice.
The only minor issue we experienced was a tyre problem with the safari vehicle one day. However, the company dealt with it quickly and professionally, were very apologetic, and replaced all of the tyres to ensure there were no further problems. It felt like an unfortunate bit of bad luck rather than a reflection of the company itself.
Overall, the organisation, communication, accommodation, activities and guiding were all outstanding. We had an amazing time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone considering a safari in Kenya - we have already recommended them to our friends. Special thanks again to Dennis for organising everything and to Rono for making the trip so memorable.

Joseph is so professional, calm and has sharp eyes. He is excellent driver for us!
We had an amazingly eye-opening 6-day Safari experience, thanks to our driver and guide Joseph. He shared many interesting facts about the places we visited and especially about the animals in Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru (their habits, their ways of life, whether they from the same families,...) - it feels like he knows them personally very well. We highly appreciate that he was also actively in touch with other drivers to get the latest updates on the best locations to spot the animals, particularly lesser-seen ones like lions, cheetahs or rhinos. Apart from that, Joseph was calm and accommodating, which made us feel safe throughout the journey so we could enjoy the best safari memories. Highly recommend having your trip with Joseph!
The only thing that could have been better is clearer communication about methods of payment. We had some disagreement with the village representative during our visit to Masai village, on what dollar bills were accepted for payment (e.g. with series later than 2013). Later we also found out Kenyan shillings were also accepted but not mentioned in the tour information. Had we been informed properly in advance, we could have made payment in shillings and ended the village visit on a high note. Hence, we suggest stating the accepted currencies and notes implicitly under the tour information to avoid misunderstandings to future guests.

The organization was excellent from start to finish, and everything went smoothly.
We had a wonderful safari today in Nairobi National Park. Our guide was very professional, available, and attentive throughout the day. He responded to all our requests and made sure we had the best possible experience. We really appreciated his flexibility and knowledge. Highly recommended!

The tour was great, the guide was awesome, we loved it
The tour is worth every penny, we booked 6 days and it was more than enough. We were lucky enough to see all the animals but leopard (next time). The lodges we stayed at were great. The team helped with all the questions and documents before the tour, they were helpful and responsive. It was our honeymoon and it was a lovely experience; we couldn’t be happier.
I want to say BIG thanks to our guide Benson who was not only driving us through half the country but also provided a lot of information on the animals, people, culture; was always helpful and answered probably a hundred of questions I personally asked.
If you want to change/upgrade accommodation, just contact the operator, it was possible for us. I definitely recommend the service provider. Thanks again for the unforgettable experience

Amazing experience!
Our guide, Richard, truly made the entire experience unforgettable. He went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing safari experience.
During both the afternoon game drive and the full-day drive, we were able to see all the animals we had hoped for. Richard shared a lot of interesting information, always answered our questions thoroughly, and listened carefully to our wishes and needs.
The transportation and accommodation were also very well organized. Overall, the experience was absolutely worth every penny.

Great safari as always
This is the second time I have gone on a safari with Splendid Vacations. Alice handled all the arrangements, and just like last year, everything worked like clockwork. We were met at the airport, and our safari began the following morning.
Our guide, Alex, is the best guide I have ever met. I am a photographer, and Alex knows the best angles for photographing animals based on their position and the lighting conditions. He was incredibly helpful and kind throughout the trip.

Amazing Safari experience

An unforgettable safari with exceptional service

He was knowledgeable, friendly, patient with our children, and worked hard to ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible.
