Wildlife was amazing!
Guide should not operate at night with lights! It’s not natural and destroys the ambiance and natural beauty of the park.
The guides should announce how much time to spend at a stop & when we are headed back! No communication on these matters! I didn’t like that

A little adventure never killed somebody :))

Our safari trip took place in Selous NP and it was awesome. Our guide was super great and I think we saw every animal we could at this time of the year. The small lions were incredible. Although we had some problems on the way back (because of the rain and stucked trucks in the middle of the road - 5 hours of waiting on the sun for another car) we experienced one of the best moments in our lives.

Would recommend using Traveljoy for a safari booking. Easy to deal with. We had one problem on our safari which was promptly sorted the following morning. No issues at all with our bookings though would have liked an option to upgrade our accomodation in some places. Our transfers were all smooth and went without any problems. The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. We saw some amazing sites and will certainly go back.

Beautiful park at the foot of impressive Mt. Killimanjaro. The amount of elephants, hippos and monkeys in this park is great.

Incredible animals, skilled guides. Many extraordinary conversations about life in South Africa.

Kathi organized every detail. While we were still at home, she found ways to communicate to ensure she understood what we were looking for and very flexibly modified suggestions accordingly. Continued to communicate while we were on the trip, reassuring us that someone was always tracking our whereabouts. Able to troubleshoot a couple of times when adjustments were required leading to totally smooth service.
We had 3 different safari experiences. They were all different and all excellent. Each guide was very skilled. The subtle way they located animals and knew where to position our vehicles to get the best views were my favourite parts.
Kathi encouraged us to go to Tanzania for a true "African" experience. It was a real highlight of the trip.
We had asked for some hiking to be part of out trip. When she included a hiking guide, we had excellent experiences.

Update
4/5

I wrote a review of Born Free Safaris in May 2018 titled, "Use another company". I would like to revise that review and update to a 4 star review. I have taken many, many safaris - some with Born Free and some with other companies. Just because one trip with Born Free was not up to their usual excellent standards, I decided to update my review. In addition, I received an email from the {resident of Born Free offering to make it up to me, and I do appreciate that.
Previous trips with Born Free were excellent and I would rate them the best of most of my Africa trips.

Excellent organization, good guide everyday with us, the best experience I did.

Everything was good. Before the start, we communicated with Safari Avventura staff for any questions. When we arrived in Tanzania, the staff picked up from airport and explained everything. Then the guide lived with us for all the Safari and was excellent. I suggest absolutely this company!

You can see the big 5, there're lots of animals in this park as it is the big one. However the scenic beauty is not as amazing as in Amboseli or Lake Nakuru.

Necessary but tirying

4/5

We went on the 6-day safari. Most of the animals we saw were in Masai Mara, we could see the big 5 in one day. However Amboseli and Lake Nakuru were more beautiful. I think you should go to see those too (the Kilimanjaro views are amazing). The big inconvenience is the distance between the parks cause it takes half a day to get from one to another and sitting in the car for so many days is exhausting and not comfortable. The other objection we had was our guide, Ali. He didnt explain anything, he was not very nice and when we talked to him about a problem he responded us in a bad way. These people have to know that we pay a lot and come from very far to enjoy that trip so we just want to enjoy what we paid for. He was unrespectful to me with the things he said. That was not nice and we didnt feel comfortable. The last days he changed and started explaining some things and being friendly. Accomodations in Masai Mara and Amboseli are tented camps, they say there's hot water but its cold, but the place itself is not bad (except Amboseli, cause there were many insects in the tent and the mosquito net was full of holes). Food is ok, buffet with some meat, rice or pasta and veggies and fruit.
