It was unbelievable for us to be so close to animals i've never before seen in their natural habitat. Our guide was very good at helping us identify and learn about the animals and the beautiful, unique birds we saw on our safari. This was an experience we won't ever forget.

I loved our safari trip at selous game reserve a lot! the food and accomodation were very good and halal, which was important for us. Furthermore, we loved our guide! We did not like the bush walk and the village tour..

Enjoyed 1D-2N trip to Nakuru and Naivasha with family
4/5

The trip was very well managed. Safety and convinience was primary concern. Pamela gave personal attention to all our needs. Overall we enjoyed it.

I wish we had a better price point... may be it was high season period hence not in control.

Great service for our group!
4/5

After many back and forth email communications to create the ultimate itinerary for our group we were very happy to finally get on our way. Our group of 30 was very pleased with service, accommodations and guide (Machiel) on our 7 day tour of South Africa. Tanja (African Savanna Travel) had everything organized smoothly- hotel check-ins were very smooth with keys already labeled for us on arrival- we rarely took more that 5 minutes to check in the whole group of 30. All of our activities were great and communication between Machiel and our destinations was constant so that we would waste no time on arrival. Machiel was continually in contact with our next stop to let them know our ETA and make changes on the fly. This made everything go very smoothly for us. On top of all the regular tasks, Machiel also assisted one of our group members to make travel plans for a family emergency that arose part way through the trip. Janet was able to rest easy knowing that Machiel was helping her make connections every step of the way - above and beyond. I would certainly use African Savanna Travel again for my touring needs.

Very beautiful lodge and nice people
4/5

The very exciting moment in our honeymoon trip was safari! I loved it. Only few things needed to improve:
1) very low electricity in lodge (you cant even charge your phone and we had no light 2 days from 3) and
2) last day walk safari was less then 1 hour because we needed to go to ferry at Dar es Salam (but I wrote it when booked tour), I was upset because it was very interesting, and guide was brilliant!

Unique journey
4/5

I did Tarangire National Park in one day. We got to see elephants, giraffes, boars, monkeys and even lions which is not common in Tarangire. The guide, Mike, was very communicative and kind.

Good Safari experience
4/5

An authentic experience, not just a touristic experience of placer and relaxation, it is an authentic African experience with its fantastic posts of exuberant nature and plains with miles of. animals that seem interminable.
This 4-day safari begins in Tarangire, a small park but perfect with a high emotion for the animals that you will see in the distance, the Serengeti is huge, indescriptible, the crater of the Ngorongoro delivers us incredible postage from above the viewpoint, the food is included, and the cook has a good hand, the accommodations are basic but within the framework of the African infrastructure that differs from European standards, there must be a good predisposition but it will be fine. Some normal weather incidents that are part of the saved nature and part of the experience, it could be normal to enter the vehicles in the rainy season, there is a bucket that sticks, the experience is unique, if it is that you look for it. The company is responsible for the inconveniences and I suppose to solve them. An incredible experience !!

Overall, a very good value safari
4/5

We did a five-day safari with Focus in Africa in March 2020. We visited Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara.

Overall, the safari was great value. We saw a lot of animals, including the Big Five. Nelson, the organiser, was easily reachable and communicative.

Our driver, Loi Solo, was superb. He was very kind, was able to navigate the tough roads, and importantly was very good at spotting the animals. The safari jeeps were excellent, with pop-up rooves, electricity sockets for charging devices, a fridge, and everyone had a window seat.

Most of the camping was of good standard, the facilities for the campsite near Tarangire and Lake Manyara were excellent.

The food was also good.

There were a couple of drawbacks. The campsite in the Serengeti was poor, a lot of the tents were old & broken, and could not keep out the rain (we were there in the wet season). Our particular safari appeared to be overbooked, which led to a cramped jeep and a number of changes to the itinerary over the five days.

As this was a budget camping safari, these are not issues that would prevent me recommending Focus in Africa to those interested in a safari experience.
