About: Kenya
Ideal destination for wildlife watching
Overall rating
4/5

National parks enable watching a wide variety of animal species in its natural environment.
Though, parkentrance fees are quite expensive, but it helps preserving the wildlife.

Gustaf was a great guide!
4/5

Guataf was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and entertaining. One of the people in the same car as us was quite demanding but Gustaf was very patient with him.

Was quite bummed that we didn’t get to see any of the big cats though.

Happy Traveler.
4/5

Efficient organization. Enjoyed staying at Sopa Lodge which had friendly helpful staff and good food on offer.
Enjoyed the Masai people who came in the evenings.
Drivers were very good, determined to show us as much game as possible.
Met terrific people at the Masai village, highly recommend it.
Only draw back was the horrible roads in the Mara.
I do prefer open vehicles, not the closed ones with pop tops. Not enough fresh air coming in.

We went north from Johannesburg to Mbombela and did a panorama tour then had a couple of fabulous days at Umkumbe Safari Lodge.
The animal viewing was wonderful. Especially seeing leopard.

Good
4/5

The safari itself was well organized, except for some issues that occurred during the trip (e.g. we were a group of three and they bought the entrance at the park just for two, so we lost time in arranging this).
The guide was a little bit silent and didn't explain a lot of the wildlife, but, he was really good in all the other organizational aspect. (Like timing ecc)
We were not lucky in see the animals and this affected all the experience and probably even the explanation about the wildlife.
Food, car and accomodations were very good.

I truly recommend 21 Africa Safari for your up-coming Safari in Tanzania
4/5

We booked a 3 day Safari with 21 Africa Safari, we visit 2 parks Serengeti natinal park & Ngorongoro crater. A really breathtaking adventure, first of all we had the best guide and translator Issa mnyama they were fun and full of knowledge and they were happy to share it with us. They were 100% in and went the extra miles in order forms to see the most animals. The food was also really good - which we didn’t expect when we are on safari!

I truly recommend 21 Africa Safari for your up-coming Safari in Tanzania.

Amazing!
4/5

Dixon was an amazing guide, he was very knowledgeable. We managed to see the big 5 even though we stayed for a short time.
The Serengeti lodge was a little cold however it was well equipped and nice overall.
The mountain lodge we stayed in was amazing! We really enjoyed this. Food was nice but would have preferred more options for lunch.

Worthy experience
4/5

My best friend and I booked a Pilensberg day-trip via GetYourGuide 3 days before going, for 128€ per person.

Our pick up spot and time was at the @SandtonHotel at 6:00 AM. We didn’t stay at the hotel, so we had to choose it as a common pick up spot. We arrived at 5:56 and were told by the reception that the driver came at 5:45 and left a couple of minutes later. The reception had to contact the driver’s boss on our behalf so he could return to pick us up… We then enjoyed an eventless ride to a gas station after 1h for a break and finally to the reserve.

The morning “game” was good, it lasted close to 3 hours. We saw hippos, rhinos, elephants, zebras but no cats.

Lunch was good, and part of the package. Beef burger + a soda, it was good and served in a nice spot on the reserve.

The afternoon “game” was more disappointing, as it only lasted 1h25min, and for a long while, animals were hidden. We ended up seeing the same animals as in the morning + a giraffe up close. Still no cats.

Although nobody can control animals’ behaviors, the afternoon game felt rushed. I wish it lasted longer to increase chances to see rarer animals and enjoy the nature.

Desmond was a great guide, really funny and knowledgeable, with whom we felt in good hands.

Do not miss it
4/5

The overall trip was a great experience. The tour operator Tsehaynew, although he was not at tge trip, he well organized everything and was following up the group closely. He responded immediately to my text, questions, requests for info.
Tge lalibea tour guide, Wendy, he was unbelievable... he had knowledge of history and religion.
Addis, is not so interesting place. 2 days are enough. Danakil Depression is AMAZING place to visit.
National museum is closed due to renovation.

Note: Although you can pay with USDs or EURs, currently, exchanging currencies into USDs or EUR is not legal / ot allowed in Ethiopia, even in banks.
