Wild Root Safaris put together an excellent 6-day private safari for us!
5/5

My husband and I had an amazing time on our private 6-day safari! Mathew and his team put together a great itinerary for us as we got to experience a range of diverse habitats and see animals in different environments across the 4 places we visited (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara). It was the perfect amount of time and we were lucky enough to see 108 species of animals (75 of which were bird species), including the elusive black rhino! We even unexpectedly saw huge herds of wildebeest migrating on their way to Ngorongoro Crater.

Of course, we have to give an enormous amount of credit to our guide Hamisi, who was very knowledgeable and crucial to ensuring a positive safari experience. He had a great sense for where to find wildlife and could identify very quickly, as well as sharing a wealth of information about the animals and plants that we saw. We also had a great time just talking to him about his family and life in general during mealtimes.

The chosen accommodations exceeded our expectations and were very comfortable. Our favorite was the Serengeti Heritage Camp which allowed us to see animals from our tent and hear them all around us at dusk and in the evenings. The food throughout the trip was surprisingly good with quite a few options as well.

Overall, we had a wonderful safari and highly recommend Wild Root Safaris and Adventures to others. It was a trip of a lifetime and we would be thrilled to come back again!

Amazing Budget Safari, highly recommend
5/5

The 6-day safari tour to Masai Mara, Lake Naikuru and Amboseli NP was amazing and I can highly recommend it!! Thanks to our experienced guide and driver Sir Charles, we saw countless animals: Lions, giraffes, elephants, a cheetah, a leopard, a rhino, lots of buffalo, antelope and wild boar. We had plenty of time to observe the animals and our guide told us lots of exciting facts about the animals.
As we were traveling in the rainy season, it was a great advantage to be in a 4x4 jeep. Our talented driver managed to get out of even the deepest mud! And the drives on dirt roads were a lot of fun too!
The safari was a budget safari so we knew it wouldn't be luxurious. The vehicle was not new but overall in good condition. However, my biggest criticism is that many of the seats did not have working seatbelts. As the traffic in Kenya is very dangerous, I think they should replace these to give tourists a safe ride!

Apart from the first one (which was still okay except for a totally broken mosquito net - so better bring your own), the accommodation was really great and exceeded my expectations.
The meals were all included and most of the more local dishes were really delicious! We only had to buy our own water as the one from the company ran out after a day.
In terms of optional activities during the trip, I can recommend visiting the Masai village next to the Masai Mara (20 dollars). You get an insight into their daily life and they tell you a bit about their culture. Of course, they also try to sell souvenirs. However, I cannot recommend the boat tour on Lake Naivasha as it was quite expensive (20 dollars) and not that interesting.

Overall, it was a great trip that I really enjoyed and would highly recommend if you are keen on seeing all the beautiful animals and the African savanna!!

Informative, friendly and a pleasure to be with.
5/5

I went on Safari with Lomo with a group of students from SFU University on a field school. We had multiple experiences which included Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, and visited the Hadzabe (Hadza) as well as the Datoga Indigenous Communities. Our guides Alan, David, Adam, Abi and Erasto were all amazing in their own ways! But in common, they were all extremely informative and made the experience so enjoyable! We started off the trip at Arusha National Park which was supposed to be one of the less magnificent parks yet still left me in awe with a gorgeous walking safari and and an exhilarating game drive where we saw giraffe's, monkey's, water buffalo's, and a white baboon! Then in Tarangire we saw so many elephants! Along with many types of impala's, birds, a lot of zebra's and a Leopard! Ngorongoro Conservation Area was one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. We saw almost every animal including 8 lions and their cubs who were quite close to the car. If you are a bird lover there was such a large variety at Ngorongoro. In Lake Manyara we weren't expecting to see too much aside from the beautiful trees but we still saw so many birds including a Martial Eagle with his prey along with tons of Elephants extremely close to the car having mud baths! Lastly the Hadzabe and Datoga communities gave such a rich cultural experience understanding how these communities function today which is extremely similar to the way they lived in the past. On top of everything; the food provided was amazing, the cars were luxurious with power and wifi, and the accommodation was fantastic. Thank you Lomo for a life changing trip!

Great trip!
5/5

We booked with Morning Star for a mother/daughter trip (30y/o -60y/o) to Kenya from Canada for the 11 day Safari/beach combo.

Dennis sent a very thorough, detailed quote of what to expect on our trip including a breakdown of the price. For us, we booked due to the attention to detail in the quote and the affordability compared to others we received. We easily communicated through WhatsApp and he was always quick to respond.

We had Rono as our driver/guide for the safari, we felt safe and well taken care of. He was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We always had water available.

For us, the trip was exciting and adventurous. It was a lot of driving and moving around to new locations(early mornings), but we were able to see lots of animals because of this! Our hotels were basic, but generally comfortable, always had a hot shower. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Very professional organization that puts customer satisfaction first.
5/5

This safari was absolutely unforgettable. The ngorongoro crater was mind blowing! We got to meet the Maasai tribe and they showed us around their village. There are so many animals in the crater, and to see them all together in their natural habitat was a dream come true. You name it, we saw it there…zebras, lions, flamingos, wildebeests, warthogs, hippos, endless bird species, and more! In Tarangire we saw lions, giraffes, zebras, and so many elephants. Our guide, Matcha, was extremely good at spotting animals and very knowledgable. He was also a good time and great person, he made it fun. I would highly recommend this company for safaris and will come back again to do more of them myself. They make sure you are enjoying yourself and the safari. One of the staff members, Daniel, was always checking in with me and making sure I was happy with everything each step of the way, and made my trip that much better! This company cares and makes sure you have the best experience you can have. Highly recommend them and this safari! Can’t wait to come back and do another safari with them!

Asante sana Mwita! Thanks for this unforgettable experience & showing us "the nature how it is!"
5/5

We just finished our safari, which was perfectly organised by Lion King Adventures. The whole programme was set up following our preferences by Maria (thanks a lot for your patience!), who responded quickly, was honest about possibilities and flexible with adaptations. On every day of our trip, we could feel how well everything was prepared, making us feel relaxed and having full head space for the beautiful nature and animals.

We are more than satisfied with the lodges and tents, all booked by Lion King. We were always received there by the staff with a smile, ten helping hands and the willingness to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It is because of this we felt so at home during our stays.

We had the pleasure of making this most wonderful safari trip with our guide Mwita. The man who recognised us at the airport earlier than we could trace our names on the welcome board, which - as later discovered - appeared quite symbolic for him and the course of our trip together: this guy sees everything before you could even suspect ‘that vague brown shape’ turning out to be an animal.

During our trip we have been feeling safe, comfortable and home all along the way with Mwita and on the road in our car Rafiki, of which he took care like a real home; cleaning and preparing it for the next game drive every evening. Programmes of the day were always clearly explained with a lot of room for questions. Mwita did his absolute best to take into account our wishes, combined with his knowledge and experience resulting in well fitting plans.

In regard to the safari, Mwita let us experience that a game drive is much more than driving around and taking pictures of beautiful animals. Being born and raised in Serengeti himself, he showed us ‘the nature how it is’. For us, this was one of the most impressive experiences we had during travelling, being confronted with the power as well as the vulnerability of the wild animals in our world, feeling thankful for what nature decided to show us.

Mwita showed not only treating the national parks, the animals, the car, us and other tourists with respect but also the other guides, in which we believe he was a role model to other guides.

Apart from being a true scanning and spotting master, well-explainer, walking encyclopaedia, perfect driver and car mechanic (really!), most of all Mwita is a very friendly warm-hearted man with love and passion for what he does, the nature and the animals. We cannot thank him enough for this unforgettable one of a kind experience, and hope to make another trip with Lion King and Mwita one day.

Serengeti shall never die.
