About: Uganda
Uganda has the most beautiful natural sceneries, the "big five" & a variety of birds
Overall rating
5/5

The safari with Yaneta was an amazing experience. If you want to see the big five, then Uganda's National parks such as Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth amongst others are the best places to visit and explore. Even birdlovers will be rewarded as these parks are home to a variety of bird species. My guide Eric had ten years experience and knew the spots where to find lions and leopards. Through his networking with other guides I got to see lions and their little cubs. He was very attentive to my needs. The booking itself went smoothly. Yaneta adjusted the itinerary according to my preferences. I highly recommend to travel with Yaneta and don't hesitate to ask specifically for Eric.

About: Kenya
Kenya is beautiful, modern, and rugged at the same time
Overall rating
4/5

Diani beach in Kenya is spectacular. We wish we had spent more days at Southern Palms resort at the end of the trip. 2 nights there was not enough.
Masai Mara is delightful with beautiful scenery and wildlife. Tsavo and Amboseli are a bit more rugged and bush-like. Difficult to see game life at time, and the roads can be rough. But the scenery of both parks is amazing . Particularly, the red elephants in Tsavo east and Mt Kilimanjaro sightings in Amboseli.
Nairobi has wonderful restaurants and malls, and Uber is used fairly. But don’t spend too long in Nairobi. 2 nights should do it.

Best tour guide I have ever met!
5/5

Cape Town was worth every penny. We had a wonderful time. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and accommodating. The food was outstanding. We loved the villa upgrade, especially the fireplace and the hot tub. Our tour guide Johnathan made our vacation so memorable, he gets five stars! Also, we would like to request him for our next visit to Cape Town. Go Touchdown Travel we love you all.

Best experience
5/5

Okay so I don’t normally write reviews so me writing this is going above and beyond. We did the 3 day budget safari camping and it was insane. The amount of effort and thought and consideration that went into a “budget” experience was truly unparalleled, and made the experience feel luxury. Every consideration, any thing I asked, Oscar went above and beyond and surpassed all expectations. Our tour guide Moses was also fantastic, the food was fantastic, I simply can’t rave about this more. Oscar even was going to go to the lengths to meet us at dinner to make sure everyone in our groups specifications were met. There is perfect communication, and you can customize it to your exact specifications. I’ve been all around the world, and I can speak from experience the service he provides is truly unparalleled. Please go to him! He will make your safari experience!

Dedicated provider!

James was great: him and his team were dedicated in finding a leopard for us!
Went above and beyond and listened to all our wishes. Definitely a great value for money and I would recommend James’ agency for both Kenya and Tanzania.

Compass Odyssey did a great job arranging a tour for us in Namibia
5/5

I chose Compass Odyssey to arrange our 12 day tour of Namibia and they did not disappoint at all. The early communication with Darren and Kate was very good, and they clearly understood our requirements and interests. Once we engaged them, they were very prompt and clear with communications and offered good advice when we needed to adjust the agreed programme because of an issue with the departure flight (which was caused by me, not them). The more off-the-beaten track places where they suggested we stay (Valley of 1,000 Hills and Doro Nawas in Damaraland) were among the main highlights of the tour. Their pre-tour information package was very comprehensive and informative.
Our guide, Elvis, was very good. He ably dealt with a problem on day 1 when our son missed his connection in Johannesburg on his way out to join us. Elvis is an expert on animals and birdlife and we learnt a lot from him. I am sure that we saw a lot more wildlife and birds than people without guides would have been able to.

First class service from start to end!
5/5

The service of African Welcome Safaris was excellent. When planning our trip (family of 5 adults), Kathi not only carefully listened to our wishes, but also responded with speed and care. She made sure our entire trip was carefully tailored to all our needs and desires.
We had an amazing trip to Cape Town/Franschhoek/Kruger/Garden route. Exellent guides: Loreal as our airport transfer driver who was a burst of joy, Henrik for one full and very informative day in Cape Town, Ben for two days taking us on a grand tour to see Cape of Good Hope/penguins/Kirstenbosch Garden and Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. We could not have had better guides - friendly, kind and very professional! Kathi had chosen us absolutely beautiful hotels at every place. Each hotel was clearly chosen based on our wishes and all of them gave a variety of different cultural aspects that made exploring South Africa exciting and pleasant. The chosen vineyards for our Stellenbosch and Franschhoek leg were also all absolutely stunning and different in their own, beautiful ways.
Kruger was amazing and our Simbawati Waterside Lodge was lovely. Most of us had never been on a safari and didn’t really know what to expect, but the Waterside Lodge and the safari experience was like a dream come true for the entire family. Simbavati Waterside Lodge itself was stunning and the staff truly provided a five-star experience. Our safari guide Kaizer and tracker Hendry were safari veterans - they were extremely friendly and experienced and gave us a safari of a lifetime. We saw the entire Big 5 (numerous times) and felt safe every single game drive we had. Suzie, our butler, made sure we were always comfortable and full with food and drinks the entire stay at the Lodge. The entire staff at Simbavati Waterside Lodge made us feel at home so much, that we even dropped a few tears before leaving.
Kathi was also absolutely amazing at giving swift, real-time replies via Whatsapp/text messages whenever we needed help or guidance with anything. We felt like we were in good hands the entire trip. The trip in its entirety was unforgettable and every day was more exciting than the previous! This is what a five-star, stress-free, value for money trip looks like!
We can highly recommend Kathi and African Welcome Safaris!
