This park is definitely my favourite out of Arusha and Manyara. The landscapes are beautifully spotted with Baobobs and the herds of elephants are truly breathtaking.

Review about Ngorongoro Crater by Justin

Excellent destination for spotting wildlife. It has one of the highest concentrations of lions around and I certainly saw quite a few. It tends to feel a bit like a zoo in my opinion, as it is all enclosed within the 'crater', and the land cruisers feel like they're on a set track weaving through it like a Jurassic Park ride in Hollywood studios. It's not my favourite, but if you have a long focal length Canon L lens, this is your place to shine. Prop it on a beanie and start shooting keepers.

A well structured, professionally managed and decently priced holiday adventure in Zimbabwe
4/5

Falcon Safaris designed a trip to Zimbabwe as per our requirements. Their choice of tour operators / service providers was good, and their own guides/tour arrangements were par excellence. We were comfortable throughout our 5 days in Zimbabwe, and did not experience a single instance of late service or an event that was below expectation with the exception of the Boma dinner where we thought the food / food selection could have been better. Elephant Hills Hotel in Vic Falls was nice and the choice of Ivory Lodge at Hwange National Park was an inspired one. With respect to pre-tour service we found Falcon Safaris quite accommodating as they changed our dates at the last minute and we did not have to pay any penalties/fees, etc. Overall a very good experience and would recommend Falcon Safaris to anybody interested in holidays in that part of the world. Thanks to Aron and the staff at Falcon Safaris.

World Air Travel organised a good safari with a very good driver/guide
4/5

Communicating with WAT is a pleasure, fast and to the point reactions. Our guide John was very nice, carefull and knowledgeable about nature; animals and plants of Tanzania.
Good vehicle, good lodges. Also thanks to the low season there were few tourists and we often had the animals (that were there plenty) for ourselves.

Great experience with a very competent guide (Amboseli)
4/5

Greatly enjoyed our experience with Africa Flash Mc Tours. Peter, the manager, is kind, courteous and efficient. We were guided by Cyrus (great name), who is competent and knowledgeable, very much the strong and (somewhat) silent type. With him we had two fantastic game drives in Amboseli, and saw a lot (lot!) of fantastic animals - all the usual suspects, plus lions, hyenas and a cheetah! We got the impression he really knew the rhythm of the park, the hiding places of a lot of different animals, their movements and comings and goings: i.e. all you could ask for in a guide.

Other good points:

- Pick up from Nairobi was very punctual
- Drive to the park took less time than expected
- They also set us up in AA Lodge, which was very close to the park gate, and had great facilities. This was something of a treat, since we were expecting a tented camp (nothing wrong with them of course, but still) and we got what we considered an upgrade!

The only reason I've given 4/5 stars, instead of 5, is because they asked for quite a hefty deposit (50%) beforehand.

An excellent combination of birdlife and big wildlife especially the rhino's!

Lake Nakuru is an excellent combination of 'normal' wildlife, special birdlife and the rhino's. Scenery up was beautifull, you could see how pelicans are fishing together in a circle. Accomodation in both lodges was OK. Our guide was kind and knew a lot.

Day trip to Augrabies Falls National Park
Overall rating
4/5

During our stay at Upington we visited Augrabies Falls National Park for about half a day during a normal workday. The entrance is located about 1 mile away from the visitor center. We were asked to fill out some papers with personal information. But the official registration was done at the visitor center. There we received some maps and recommendations for interesting places in the park.

The walk to the famous falls was very well prepared. It seemed to be newly constructed. The path was build of wooden platforms that were directly mounted on the huge rocks that lead towards the canyon. The falls itself were incredible because of their height and huge amount of water. There were also some trails directly on the rocks that led back to visitor center. Overall, it was easy to orientate.

At noon we had a lunch at the terrace of the visitor center. There are a lot of tables under sunshades. The service was very kind and the food was good. It was not very busy at that time in the park. No local tourists.

After lunch we took a dirt road to a place called moon rock. The rock can be easily climbed because it is not steep. At the top you have a very good overlook over the whole park and you are able to see the canyon in the far, the orange river and the contrast between green vegetation near the river and the desert around. The roads can be used also by not 4WD vehicles but you need to drive carefully and slowly through some water passages.
