Unforgettable
We had an incredible experience with Zohar and I would absolutely recommend others to choose this operator! Our safari was a four night, five day luxury experience at the end of May that we took as a honeymoon celebration.
Zohar was very flexible to fit our safari expectations and wishes. In advance of our booking, we called Lilian for her advice on what options may be suitable for us. She custom designed a route that took into account the year’s rainfall (muddy driving proves challenging and excess underbrush growth reduces the ability to spot most animals) and also provided lengthy descriptions on the various “add ons” that Zohar offers. One tip - there may be additional activities Lilian can create based on your interests that are not listed on the website. When we mentioned a love of hiking, Lilian provided a few additional options for our review. Also, Zohar remained flexible on our itinerary. That is, Lilian allowed us to decide closer to the date of our departure for a final decision about extra activities. We appreciated the opportunity to reevaluate given recent weather conditions.
At the time of booking, we alerted Zohar that we were traveling to Tanzania for our honeymoon. We arrived at the airport in Arusha and were immediately greeted by a driver bearing fresh watermelon juice (and another thoughtful surprise I won’t specify). Lilian herself met us at our hotel (Serena), alongside Solomon (our guide). They presented our itinerary again and provided other helpful tips and tricks for the time to come. Then, we immediately left for the canoeing safari at Lake Duluti (walking distance from Serena hotel). This was an excellent day one experience, especially for bird watchers.
We departed relatively early the next morning for a long haul trek to the Serengeti. If scheduling allows, I recommend to spend a night at Manyara to break up the drive. Solomon helped the drive to pass with speed, answering our very, very many inquiries about Tanzania, the landscape, Arusha, the animals, and more. We had an incredibly lucky start, catching two lions playing right at the start of the park. Within the Seregenti, we stayed at the Serena, which was definitely impressive. Also, due to Zohar’s thoughtful notice to the hotel, we were greeted with a special honeymoon surprise during our stay (and the same in Ngorogoro). Of all our hotels, Ngorogoro was the favorite and I wished we had more time there!
Solomon was fantastic. He knows the area/animals/geography inside an out, he was almost inside the head of animals, predicting all of their next moves. While we had great luck on the safari, we also owe many of our sightings to his great skill, catching many things with his naked eye that we hadn’t even noticed with binoculars. He was also personable, patient, and funny. This was a very special trip, in no small part because of his presence.
In addition, Zohar is a locally owned safari operator. While we truthfully hadn’t known this at the time of our booking, we were very happy to learn we chose a company that is owned by a Tanzanian woman (Lilian). We learned that through this local perspective, Lilian treats her staff with considerably higher standards and pay than some other companies on the market. Guides work very long days and this dedication should entail equitable pay and acknowledgement/respect of their critical role in one’s safari experience. It was exceedingly evident that Zohar beats out many other competitors in this regard.
Also, regarding the Zohar vehicle, all was nice, new, and in excellent shape. According to our guide, our Land Cruiser was less than five years old and it was outfitted with a way to charge electronic devices. The vehicle itself wasn’t something I considered in advance, however, after passing multiple broken down cars, I realized we were lucky to be in a vehicle that was properly maintained. Our guide explained that Zohar vehicles are carefully reassessed prior to departure to ensure they are Serengeti ready!
Overall, Zohar is an excellent company, rating 10/10. We hope to return for a second safari soon, plus climb of Kilimanjaro!

Amazing, legendary, fantastic!
Thank you so much for the most amazing Safari experience. We had less than 72 hours in Kenya and this really was incredible. We saw all of the big 5 as well as all of the other animals possible! Our tour guide, Michael, was an absolute legend! He was so professional, knew so much about the animals and couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed at Loyk Mara which was the best accommodation I could have imagined. The rooms and food were both faultless and I would really recommend the whole experience in a heart beat. Thank you so much!

Amazing tour and super helpful guides
The tour in itself was an amazing experience, the guides showed experience, commitment and knowledge to make the experience complete in each stage. They also had all the necessary implements for assuring comfort during the whole trip. Moreover, the guides and operators where ready to help in situations that were beyond their responsibility regarding visas and border crossing allowing us to solve problems easily to continue with the experience. I would like to congratulate deeply the whole team for an amazing complete experience.

Honest, Helpful and full of good ideas
Covid meant that we had to postpone for two years. Clare at west Wings stayed in touch and kept our booking alive.
When we finally got there, Simon the barefoot guide did the rest. My family had the best time ever, saw the big 5 (made more difficult due to the rain) and we were fed and watered by Simon. We had breakfast lunch and dinner cooked for us .. and it was all amazingly done, we we're fed restaurant standard food in the bush!!
This is the only address you will need for the safari experience of your dreams.

Safari Better Than We Expected
Ramadhani organized a trip to southern Tanzania through Selous, Mikumi, Ruaha and Udzungwa mountains. We covered the abundantly endowed parks with safari guide Martin who showed us the different plants, animals and bird species.
It was an outstanding safari capturing the beautiful sights, meeting the wonderful Tanzanian people and the lovely countryside.
We had a mix of game drives, hot-air balloon tours, boat safari and cultural tours that we could not get enough of Tanzania.
It was nice that Ramadhani booked us in comfortable and relaxing lodges.
This shall remain as one of the most memorable safari of our lives.

Petnah T&T take the safari experience to another level with expertise and personal effort.
Praise God! God is good. So, Petnah Tours and Travels is one of the best tour companies in East Africa! Going on Safari with them numerous times, their trips are worth it. In Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. The tour guides are experienced and endeavour to give the customer a real experience of the wild while on game drives. Extensively pushing to let you see the most interesting animals like leopards, lions among others and seeing some spectacular places like the Ngorongoro Crater. They organize accommodation at some of the best hotels like the Serena hotels and get the best tour guides for the job. They give advice on what would make the trip fun, but most importantly, having God be the guide makes the trip all the more worthwhile. He is the Leader. On our recent trip to the Serengeti, we got to see all the big five animals of the Serengeti, stayed at the beautiful Seronera Lodge and Serena Ngorongoro and was got really good entertainment. It was a good trip. Good value for money. Love you. God bless you as you plan for your trip. Petnah T&T is a good place to start in East Africa!
