Comfortable bare-bones group-travel through Kenya

The wildlife flourished in 2007, enough rain and lots of sun. We got to see many (bigger) animals such as the Big 5. Accommodations were mostly basic and thus fine. Travel by truck with nice horse-shoe shaped seat plan, so you could talk to everyone all the time. Great fun! The guide was very friendly, as the cook was good. The guide knew a lot (had been to Kenya couple of times). We got to photograph a lot of animals and do some nice hikings. Also time to visit villages, towns and enjoy where ever we came.

Kenya is a real land of suprises. Most people don't know about the Marine Reserve just off Bamburi beach. A must if you snorkel!

Everything is good. I was at the north of SA next to the frontier of botswana. The only thing I regret it's a lot of farms or safari have some fences compare to botswana where all animals is free. Except that it's a very good destination, I didn't get the chance to go to kruger park but I heard a lot of comments that it's awesome.

My intro to Hwange was a chase of an impala by 2 Cape Hunting Dogs as we drove into the park. How can you beat seeing a coordinated hunt and kill by one of the most rare predators in Africa?!

From the comfort of the river, one can see Hippos [X], Elephants [X], BIRDS [X], Monkeys [X]. Of course, be sure to go to Victoria Falls too! Lovely Dinner Sunset Cruise (took it twice). Enjoyable Elephant Ride. There's ultralight gliding, white water rafting, and the Livingstone Museum.

Bring mosquito repellent. I was there in June/July and the mozzies came out at dusk.

Review about Good Earth Tours & Safaris by Sandi
5/5

Good Earth allowed me to customize to my heart's content, guided me with opinions and alternatives when asked, and took the best care of us! Ask for Prosper if you are into photography at all. He has a passion for the same, and he truly enjoys helping you find the best shots! But most of all, Prosper is the perfect mix of knowledge, skilled driver (very important in the event of rain!) humor, friend, and great Eagle Eyes! lol!
