Memorable few days
4/5

Our safari experience with Excellent Voyage was truly incredible. Every aspect, from the seamless booking process to the impeccable accommodation, delicious food, and reliable vehicle, exceeded our expectations. However, what truly made our adventure extraordinary was the exceptional knowledge and care provided by our guide, Godi. He went above and beyond to ensure our happiness and comfort throughout the entire journey His passion wildlife was contagious and added a special touch to our safari experience, as he shared fascinating facts about each animal we encountered. We felt safe and well looked after his guidance. Every minute was a joy, and we wholeheartedly recommend booking a safari with Excellent Voyage. If you're fortunate enough to have Godi as your guide, it will undoubtedly be an amazing and memorable few days.

Amazing recommendations and customer service for first trip to Africa
5/5

We found Compass Odyssey during the pandemic when, like many people, we were dreaming of trips we wanted to take, but couldn’t. We exchanged emails with Darren many times and knew, when the time was right, that we had found the company we wanted to book through for our first safari. His knowledge of the areas we were interested in, experience with booking these trips, and easy going personality were a good fit for us.

2023 rolled around and the timing was right. We originally had hoped the entire family would go, but for a few reasons it turned into a father/son trip. Darren quickly was able to adjust from the prospects of a family of five to just the two of us. My son and I were looking for an adventurous safari, not caring about staying at high end resorts. Darren understood this and, for each of the three locations we were looking at, sent multiple choices of lodging for us to choose from, along with descriptions of each and his recommendations. All along the way, Darren was there to answer any questions we had, and promptly too, despite the 6 hour time change. I knew when I sent questions to him that there would be answers waiting for me when I woke the next day.

The quality, and amount, of pre-safari information supplied by Compass Odyssey was just amazing! Almost every question I would have had was answered in these documents - Covid requirements, mosquito and disease concerns, how much to tip, what type of money to carry, luggage limits on bush flights, what documents would I need because I was traveling alone with my 16 yr old son - everything was answered. Compass Odyssey even supplied a step-by-step set of instructions on navigating through the Johannesburg airport from arrival, to immigration, to luggage claim, to checking for our connecting flight. It was so detailed that I knew what to expect every step of the way (something that turned out to be very valuable).

When we were looking at booking our airfare from the US to Johannesburg, where our trip would really start, Darren’s experience really shined through, strongly recommending two nights in Livingston, Zimbabwe, to start us off - just in case of flight delays and to give us time to adjust to the time change. It turned out to be a great piece of advice as our flight to Johannesburg was delayed enough to cause us to miss out connection in Johannesburg. If we had not booked two nights we would not have seen Victoria Falls (on my son’s must-see list!). As our flight from London to Johannesburg was taxiing for takeoff I was texting Darren saying I was concerned we would miss the connection, but our pilot said we may make up time in the air. I switched my phone into airplane mode not knowing what to expect when I landed in 11 hours. When we did land, I had a text waiting from Darren telling us we would miss our connection (he had talked to the airline), so he had changed our flights to the next day and already arranged a hotel for the night. This was a life-saver - we are experienced travelers, but this was our first time to Africa, and Compass Odyssey looked after us well.

The trip was amazing, more than I could have hoped for. The lodging was perfect for us. We stayed at Pioneers Lodge in Livingston, Chobe River Lodge in Kansane, Botswana (amazing lodge, staff and location), and Nokanyana Lodge in the Okavango Delta (the staff, the food, the guides were great and the hyenas laughing in the camp and elephants rubbing up against the tent as they walked by at night are things I will never forget). The transportation that Compass Odyssey arranged was smooth, giving us peace of mind and helping us get across borders where necessary - thank you Mortimer! Their recommendations were perfect, making this a trip exactly what we were looking for and wanting us to go back for more. (When we do, we will definitely book through Compass Odyssey again!)

Amazing!
5/5

Brilliant adventures and Safaris gave us an incredible experience. Julieth was very professional and accomodating and provided us a seamless itinerary based on our requests. My sister and I booked a 6 day safari and we couldn't be happier with chosing this company. From the lovely accomodations, airport pick-up and drop-off, and our guide it was truly well-planned. Osbert, our safari guide, was amazing! He went above and beyond with everything and had a wealth of knowledge. You could tell he has a passion for wildlife. Please don't hesitate on choosing them for your safari experience!

Unforgettable experience!
5/5

We went on a 3-day safari (14-17 July).
That was incredible!
We saw many animals pretty close, took pictures and enjoyed the view.

Special thanks to our driver, who did an excellent job with the road and told interesting facts about animals.

Our stay at camp was very comfortable: good service, nice food, clean bathrooms with hot water.

I would totally recommend this tour and our guide Daniel.

Exceeded all our expectations
5/5

We were ten people from 15 to 74 years of age and we all had a FANTASTIC trip. Everything exceeded our expectations. Julius and Khalifa were absolutely fantastic at finding the animals, and we saw all animals more or less just next to us. They both know everything about the animals and the nature. We stayed in luxury lodges and luxury tented camps, and we only wished that we have had more days to enjoy the accommodation.

Excellent day trip from Nairobi to Lake Elementaita with professional service
5/5

We had a day spare in Nairobi so organised a day tour with JoySharon at Morningstar. She was most attentive to our needs, very prompt in all replies and completely professional. We wanted to see flamingos and so travelled out to Lake Elementaita. There were not many companies offering a trip to this lake, however when I suggested it JoySharon was happy to accommodate the request. We then came back to Nairobi to visit the Giraffe centre. Our guide Alex was excellent. He was punctual, charming and extremely knowledgeable about birds. We can highly recommend Morningstar as a excellent safari company.

Well organized and always available
5/5

We booked our honeymoon safari trip with Discover Africa after we had gone through intensive research to find the perfect Botswana Trip. We couldn't find a solution that covers all our bases ourselves. Susan from Discover Africa took on our request and was able to find as the perfect trip at Chobe National Park and Okavango Delta. She communicated very frequently with us and understood exactly what we were looking for. She was able to form a trip plan for us very quickly, and with a few small tweaks we were able to agree on the trip details and booked immediately.

The safari trip was managed very well. All necessary documents were provided with the app that had the trip itinerary available for offline viewing. Once we arrived in Botswana, all aspects of transport, game drives, food and accommodation were handled by the lodges and we barely had to lift a finger. We stayed at Elephant Valley Lodge in Chobe and Kadizora in Okavango Delta. Both lodges were amazing and the food was great. The game drives were stunning and well spaced out to allow us to rest and relax in-between. We never felt rushed throughout the trip.

Overall, Discover Africa Safaris was great to work with and they organized a fantastic honeymoon safari trip for us. Will definitely be using them again for future safaris!
