Excelent from beginning to end

Everything was perfectly arranged, from beginning to end. Federica did an excelent job in organizing all activities (from transportation, to lodging and safari).

Elephants everywhere
Overall rating
5/5

With excellent access by both land and water, Chobe is probably the best location for elephant viewing in all of Africa. The ability to view game up close silently from a drifting boat is unmatched anywhere. Botswana is safe and well governed and has done a fantastic job of managing natural resources and controlling tourism pressure. Many popular parks in the rest of Africa feel like large zoos crowded with tourists. Chobe feels like the real bush.
We take groups there each winter with remsberg.com and teach photography workshops staying at the excellent Garden Lodge in Kasane. There is no better place to learn wildlife photography than Chobe and it is so close to Vic Falls that you end up with an amazing two for one experience.

Remarkable wildlife and wonderful guide

Excellent time in Selous. The start of the rainy season brought some neat sights and great safari on foot. The landscapes of Selous are not as imposing or awe-inspiring as some of Tanzania's other parks, but the wildlife did not disappoint.

Unmissable
Overall rating
5/5

I travelled alone and staid at two lodges: Camp Moremi and Camp Xakanaxa both part of Desert and Delta company. Both are fantastic with brilliant and expert staff. The first is luxurious the second more rustic, both unmissable!
Excursion staff was truly knowledgable, and I have a fond memory of Pound at Xakanaxa (hello there!); the manager, the kitchen and the rest of the back of the house staff was truly professional and made my stay unforgettable. All the guests I have met in both camp have said the same, so this is not an exaggerated review, rather one grounded in facts. Food was simple and superb, so were the numerous drinks and snacks we had in the rooms, during high tea and the excursions.
I was quite lucky to see a lot of animals, including the one harder to sport like leopards to lions, to hyaena and wild dogs.
I will go back, with no doubt! Many many thanks to both Camp Moremi and Camp Xakanaxa for the unforgettable trip!

Communications were always prompt, service and the offers of help were very good and welcome as it was our first time in Africa. Certainly lived up to expectations. Arranged exactly the holiday that I wanted.

Professionally, friendly and well organized
5/5

In January we went to the holiday fair in Amsterdam.
We visited several stands specialized in Africa safaris
At the Makasa stand we had a click, it felt good.
Selma explained to us what the possibilities were.
We told her what we wanted to see and do and what our budged was.
Makasa organized a 9-days safari in tented lodges and 7-days at the beach resort Dream of Zanzibar.
October 30 we left and everything was perfectly arranged.
Upon arrival in Kilimanjaro airport, a Makasa employee was waiting for us, and brought us to our hotel in Moshi.
The next morning Selma, Ngomi and our guide/driver Humphrey came to the hotel to welcome us and to give us the last details. And of we went.
The safari was great, especially thanks to Humphrey, he was not only a good driver, he was a guide with a lot of knowledge about the animals and he spoke perfect English. He was an entertainer, quiz master, butler and very enthusiastic, if he saw a cheetah or a leopard he became even crazier than we were. We have not only seen the big 5 but also so many other animals.
We wanted to see the migration of the animals, but due to the climate change the animals were still in the north. No problem for Mr. Humphrey, then we just drove to the north. We are eternally grateful to him for this, what a spectacle. Breathtakingly beautiful, not to describe with words, you have to experience this. Not only by seeing it, but by feeling it, smelling it, hearing it, tasting it.
After this beautiful experience it was time to go to Zanzibar. We stayed in the beautiful resort Dream of Zanzibar, here we enjoyed the nice weather and beautiful beach.

Thanks Makasa for an unforgettable dream trip.

Unbelievable Experience
5/5

My friend and I were looking to book a last minute safari. After looking at various trips we finally decided to do a 4 day Lake Nakuru/Maasai Mara tour. It was the best decision we could have made. We decided to use the 4x4 instead of the van - another great decision. Even though it cost more it was well worth it. It was very comfortable traveling over dirt and rock roads and it got us into areas the van would not have been able to go. Although they cannot guarantee animal sightings our guide Surat Nur was unbelievable. I think he showed us every possible animal that lives on this reserve. The highlight was driving for an hour just in time to catch a leopard coming down from a tree and walking right in front of our jeep. Not only were the tours fantastic, the accommodations were also amazing. We stayed at the Ziwa Bush Lodge and the Ilkeliani camp. Both places were beyond our expectations. The staff at both were helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. They treated us like royalty. Chris was fantastic in making the arrangements and went out of his way to make our trip the best ever. I cannot recommend this highly enough!!!

Great servive pleasant people only stain was omission to check state of vehicle prior to departure to Hwange Safari Lodge which fortuitously caused minor arrival delays less than 5kms from destination
