Best guide ever
We had the absolute best experience with Derek, and honestly, we could not have asked for a better guide for our safari. From the very first day until the end of the trip, he made sure that every single moment was special, comfortable, fun, and unforgettable. Out of everything we experienced during this trip, Derek was truly one of the biggest reasons why it became such an incredible memory for us.
First of all, Derek is not just a guide he is someone who genuinely cares about his guests and puts his whole energy into making sure you have the best possible experience. He was always attentive, patient, kind, professional, and incredibly funny. He made us laugh during the entire trip and created such a good atmosphere every single day. Long drives never felt long because he always had stories, jokes, interesting explanations, and amazing energy. You can immediately feel that he loves what he does, and that passion completely changes the experience.
What impressed us the most is how hard he worked to give us the best safari possible. Derek did EVERYTHING he could to help us see the animals and enjoy every moment. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to see the Big Five, including the leopard, elephant, lion, rhinoceros, and even giraffes very closely during the trip. Seeing a leopard was one of our biggest dreams, and Derek made it happen. His experience, patience, knowledge of the parks, and ability to spot animals are honestly incredible. Sometimes he could notice animals that we would never have seen ourselves.
Every time we stopped to observe an animal, Derek took the time to explain everything to us in detail. He taught us so much about the behavior of the animals, their habits, how they hunt, how they live, the differences between males and females, how ecosystems work, and so many fascinating facts throughout the safari. You can really tell he has deep knowledge and years of experience. He answered every single question with passion and precision.
Another thing that made the experience exceptional was how much he cared about our comfort and wellbeing during the entire trip. He constantly checked if we were comfortable, if we needed breaks, water, better positioning for photos, or anything else. He always tried to place the vehicle in the perfect spot so we could have the best possible view for pictures and videos. He was incredibly patient and never rushed us. We always felt safe, relaxed, and taken care of.
Derek also went above and beyond many times to adapt the experience to us personally. He was flexible, understanding, and always focused on making us happy. You can truly feel that for him, this is not “just a job.” He genuinely wants people to leave Kenya with unforgettable memories, and thanks to him, that is exactly what happened for us.
This safari exceeded all our expectations, and a huge part of that is because of Derek. We will honestly remember this trip for the rest of our lives. If you are looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, funny, professional, caring, passionate, experienced, and completely dedicated to giving you the best safari experience possible, then Derek is the person you need.
Thank you again, Derek, for everything you did for us. You made this trip magical and unforgettable. We could not recommend you more highly.

A guide who will transform your African safari from a vacation into a life-defining experience.
My husband and I traveled to Namibia as passionate photographers and seasoned international travelers - we've visited over 28 countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa - so our bar is genuinely high. Ricky didn't just meet it. He exceeded it in ways we didn't anticipate.
From the moment we met him, his warmth, humor, and deep love for the African bush were immediately apparent. This isn't a man doing a job - he is living his calling. His knowledge of Namibia's landscapes, wildlife, and culture is extraordinary, and he shared it all with infectious enthusiasm and genuine care for our experience.
What truly set Ricky apart was how personally invested he was in our trip specifically. He remembered our interests, anticipated our needs, and had a quiet, reassuring way of handling every situation with grace. When things didn't go according to plan - as they sometimes do in travel - Ricky made us feel completely taken care of.
We left Namibia with photographs and memories we will treasure for the rest of our lives, and so much of that is because of him.
Ricky, we are rooting for you and Quality Time Tours with everything we've got. You deserve every success.

2 weeks Ethiopian tour with my guide yohanes. He deserve 5 star.
We recently finished an amazing two-week tour in North and South Ethiopia with a very professional company and wonderful team. The whole journey was interesting, unforgettable, and full of unique experiences. Our guide, Yohanes, was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much about the history, culture, and traditions of his beautiful country. He truly made the trip special for us. We also enjoyed a lovely farewell dinner at Toto Traditional Restaurant, where we tasted delicious Ethiopian food and everything was very tasty, and we loved it so much. Ethiopia is truly a fascinating country, and we highly recommend this tour experience!

First Time in Africa? African Overland is Perfect!
My first Africa Safari with African Overland was the best trip of a lifetime. I've seen the Big Five up close. The team was very helpful and accommodating to any needs... Serengeti's sunsets, the hospitality of the people and their customized itineraries - everything was perfect.... I would 100% recommend African Overland for those who want to visit Africa for the first time.

RIP off dishonest company
Save your money and book else where. Charlatans all nice and responsive before you travel. Than it all goes wrong!! We booked chimpanzees in kibale park instead we were taken to Kyamburu. This with less the half the cost of what we paid for. Our 2nd hotel was cancelled without any warning. Where we were at was substandard and not in the park as promised. Some USD800 difference in cost. Lies about water as we called the hotel. Our driver had received our itinerary 2 weeks prior to our arrival. We were always booked in the sub standard hotel and was never informed until we arrived at the wrong hotel. I think he thought we would not notice. We were supposed to go to ischika this didnt happen. They will sell you one itinerary than completely change it. Please look elsewhere and read reviews from other websites. I managed to find plenty of negative reviews once I researched properly. I have noticed quite a few of the bad reviews have disappeared. Uganda is a beautiful country please DO NOT book through beyond travel. I have included many screen shots as I have noticed the owner responds to reviews with lies. The difference in what we paid for and what we got is some USD2000 difference

Not one thing went wrong! I just wish I could have stayed more...
Frank Tours came highly recommended by locals who had used Frank Tours (FT) services before and I was not disappointed :)!
Communication during the preparation of the safari was very easy and professional. FT was very reactive: I received same-day answers to all my queries. I had to amend my safari itinerary and dates a few times which FT each time nicely accomodated. I appreciated the detailed lodge suggestions and being able to choose the right (for me) level of price/luxury, and the suggestion of community lodges.
FT tour offer was very competitive in price compared to French tour operators.
Otherwise all went as planned: pick-up times, morning departure times, planned activities, etc. Sam, my driver/guide, was helpful, accomodating and very reassuring for the single traveller I was.
I had a wonderful time during my 6-day safari, visiting Kibale National Park, Queen Elisabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Lake Mburo National Park. All lodges were very different in style but all absolutely spotless. 6-days were a bit short - but all my fault, trying to pack too much in a handful of days...
It was an amazing safari experience: chimps and gorillas of course but the crouching lions of QE park, the elephants at Kasinga channel and the crocodiles of the Lake Mburo lake boat ride were also memorable experiences... I also keep wonderful and vivid memory of Uganda amazing and changing landscapes, of villages crossed during the long travelling on country roads and the local people met at lodges and during the activities.
I highly recommend Frank Tours and I hope to have the opportunity to come back soon in Uganda and discover more of its people and landscapes...
