South Africa is my favorite destination I have ever been to. I have no other safari experiences to compare it to, but it exceeded my expectations at every step of the way.

South Africa has the exotic vibe of the african continent, yet the all the conveniences you'd find in any developed country.

South Africa has some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet. The people were incredibly warm and welcoming.

Madikwe is a hidden gem in South Africa. South Africa was easy to navigate by car even though we had to drive on the opposite side of the road. My husband and I felt safe the entire trip.

I have travelled many thousands of kilometres across Southern Africa and visited numerous game and nature reserves. Each region has it's own beauty and diversity. From whale watching to mountain hiking, to desert and the big five.
Enjoy your holiday :)

South Africa has a world in one. They have a vast park system that is accessible, well maintained, well provisioned, and friendly. SA is especially good for the first time visiter to Africa.

There are many parks in South Africa. Some boast of the big five, some are quiet and have lovely scenery. So you have much opportunity to chose what you want.
In 2010 we spent 16 days insides parks and now, in 2012, even 19 days.
If we stay healthy this won't be the last time.
Sometimes you must be patient or lucky. As we travelled from north to south in Kruger last april (14 days) we saw our first lonely lion only after 7 days! The next day we saw some 12 lions in front of our car!

South Africa is a gorgeous country with rich history and friendly people. The only downside to south africa is their car watchers in bigger cities like Cape Town. They are extremely aggressive and often times, demanding of tips. It became annoying having to deal with someone who would "watch" your car while you ran into the store and then have to tip them for fear they would become angry/hurt you.
