I was not disappointed in experiencing the wildlife and other animals, as well as the scenery of Uganda! My Nikon experienced over 1800 'clicks'! The photography was phenomenal!

The Country is so lush and green and is packed full of wildlife wherever you look. The rolling hills and mountain scenery is stunning to wake up to, it's not over crowded and the lodges are all small taking on only a handful of guests at a time. There are birds galore even just in the hotels surrounding gardens and numerous other reptile, butterfly and primate species just doing what it does everyday and you get a real feel of nature and serenity.

Uganda is gifted with a lot of wild life species, many mountain ranges and rivers and most parks have dirt roads making for a good bush vibe. The birding experience is also awesome because of the variety of birds species.

Uganda, fantastic place to see the gorillas
Overall rating
4/5

We had a fantastic time in Uganda. The people were really friendly, the birding was great (although we're not really birders) and we felt safe. The outstanding attraction has to be the gorillas. The hour that we spent with them was totally magical, I once in a lifetime opportunity which tops any other wildlife experience I've had. Aside from the gorillas, you can probably get better sighting animals (especially the large cats) in other countries, mainly because of the scrub and jungle landscape in Uganda. However, the gorillas make up for any lack of lions, leopards etc.

Uganda is a small country with a lot of variety to discover (landscapes, wildlife, vegetation, cultures), while distances are small; most places can be reached within a day. Tourism is only developping, you can find peace, tranquility and adventure. Some nice lodges in different price ranges offer basic or upmarket accommodation. Uganda is a safe country and can be travelled individually. The climate is pleasant, not too hot. People are extremely friendly and welcoming in general.

Because Uganda still offer Mt. Elgon and Mt. Rwenzori National Parks. These are amazing parks with incredible wildlife and landscapes. All in all, the Ugandan parks are less overcrowded compared to Kenyan and Tanzanian parks.

Uganda has the BEST primate wildlife viewing of any country. The people are incredibly helpful. My wife and I used local buses for transportation, to cut back on costs between the national parks. We planned ahead and setup treks for Gorillas (Bwindi), Chimps (Kibale), and Golden monkeys (Mgahinga Park). We booked a driver to get use from the Gorillas to the Chimps, and drove slowly through Queen Elizabeth Park, to spot some of "the Big 5". Uganda is amazing -- don't miss it!
