About: Tanzania
Very relaxed, peaceful and friendly in general.

We went to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park with our friendly guides Patrick and Ali from Kilimanjaro Trip Safaris and couldn't have had much of a better trip. We saw prides of lions and cheetahs (an especial highlight), plenty of elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, waterbuffalos and wildebeest, and a scattering of hyenas and jackals. Another highlight was spotting a kingfisher alighting on a branch and stopping there for a minute or two, and our sighting of a lilac-breasted roller was spectacular, perched peacefully showing off its lilac breast for some minutes then swooping away revealing its thrilling electric blue underbelly.
Accommodation was good generally, with mosquito nets always provided. The weather wasn't as hot as I expected, with quite a lot of cloud about, but this was for the best in the main as though I love the sun it would have been too hot and dry with less cloud cover. I would certainly recommend such a trip with Kilimanjaro Trip Safaris around this time of year.

Tanzania, a destination one must go in his life, return to the wild

Our family took a 5 days Safari with Shemeji Safari. August in Tanzania, the weather is climatic optimum. Tansportation is comfortable. Lodges and tents are very good accommodations. The guider is smart and very helpful. The scenery is astonishing , especially in Ngorongoro. We spent two days in Serengeti, compare with the othe 3 places, wild animals are more difficult to be spectule. The dinner in the lodges and tent is wonderful , but the lunch bag's food is a little bit oily.

It's amazing to see all the animals we saw in their real environment doing what they really do. It's sad, though that it is so crowded with jeeps everywhere, specially in Masai Mara.

There are not enough words to describe this fantastic experience. I have been to South-Africa many times and although I appreciate South-Africa a lot, Kenya and the places we visited (Amboseli, Nakuru, Masai Mara and lake Naivasha) are just better and more exciting. We went with Wildebeest Safaris and everything was organised into the smallest details. We had to worry about nothing (that's why you go on holiday isn't it? A couple of stress-free weeks) and our guide Geoffrey was always there to make sure things went smoothly without any hassle. For my next holiday I know already where I will go and with whom: Kenya and Wildebeest Safaris.

I would like to highlight three things about our safari experience. One of them is the bush walks we did. It is definitely the best way of getting to know bush life in an overall but also concrete way. You get deep knowledge apart from just the animals. The other highlight is the best decision we made: sleeping outside. That way you really feel "the african bush charm" under those stars and listening to the sounds of the bush (and SO comfy and warm!). The third highlight are obviously our guides. Elias, Minaz, Shanon, Nico and Rex from Tremisana Lodge made us learn SO MUCH and made us love the bush and want to become guides ourselves! doing that bushwalk the three of us with Elias was one of the most enriching experiences in my life. The only thing I didn't like was Reinick behaviour when the buffalos aproached us during the night, he was a lot more scared than we were!

Agent Ute Sonnenberg very responsive/pleasant to deal with/knowledgeable or found out info promptly
5/5

Flexible re communication across time zone difference to USA. Prompt responses both prior to trip and while on trip. Totally seamless transfers and tour arrangements- excellent companies chosen. (So different from all the troubles we had with another agency on a different trip to Brazil/Argentina). Safari experience amazing- Highly recommend kirkmans kamp. Agent Ute Sonnenberg tailored trip to meet my exact requests. If she didn't know something, she researched it and got the answer. Would absolutely recommend Ute and Roho Ya Chui.

Everything we hoped for and more!
5/5

This was our first trip to Africa and traveling with 4 children (ages 13-22) and my wife, I wanted to make sure that I found a company what could meet some very important criteria in putting together a two-week trip to Uganda. Writing an email to someone thousands of miles away and trusting them to put together a package was a leap of faith and it so happens that my leap was well worth it!

I wanted to make sure that first and foremost my family would be safe. I also did NOT want a package that was also sold to many other people and just be crammed in with several others. I wanted a private experience with my family but realized I couldn't go it alone. I also wanted to understand the culture, animals, have some flexibility if we wanted to stop somewhere and see something and not always feel like I was on a schedule.

I wrote several companies I found on the web but immediately felt drawn to Kevin at Experience Uganda! He was very responsive to my requests and endless revisions to schedules and accommodations. He would not just answer my questions in a timely manner but his responses also indicated that he understood Uganda well but also understood the western world standard of living, customs and expectations (having grown up in New Zealand) and did very well at explaining what the expedition would entail and guided me through the whole process of putting together this incredible adventure.

Kevin even called me to help answer my questions and calm my concerns about a trip of this sort. When he realized that my 13 year old would not be able to trek Chimps in a certain area he had planned, he quickly found another location which would allow my 13 year old to go. He was very accommodating and very pleasant and patient to work with.

Kevin's place, Karibu, is very welcoming and clean and well run with a great staff. His wife Leslie is very charming and I loved speaking a bit of French with her and experiencing a bit of French influence in the very delicious and well-prepared meals. They were very attentive to our needs. Kevin arranged an amazing driver and guide for our family who was with us the whole time in a very comfortable Land Cruiser. Patrick, our driver, understood Uganda well - history, animal behavior, geography, all the bird species, politics, and seemed to be well connected with people everywhere we went. It was clear as we would see other guides and drivers that we had someone above and beyond the ordinary! It was a great learning experience for the entire family. Patrick took the time to connect with our family including the children and when he found out that one son really wanted to see a Leopard, Patrick went the extra mile and with some patience found us a leopard in the evening and watched him for about 90 minutes as he scoped out his prey.

I can't imagine this trip working out any better and I have no regrets about my decision to work with Kevin and Experience Uganda and would do it again in a heartbeat! It was a trip of a lifetime and met all of the expectations we had for it.
