Paid for the budget safari and I got it
THe difference between a budget safari and a costlier one is in the accommodations, food offered. and transportation method. Low budget offers tents, same meals every day, and hard road time. On the highest end, you fly into the parks and avoid the "african massage" from the potholes in the road. HOwever where you end up going, is exactly the same spot.
I too my 73 year old mother on the budget safari. Joe was our driver and guide. He found all the beautiful creatures that made our safari amazing. My mom took to the African massage allot like everyone else in the tour van, what choice do you have? Our Route to masai mara was okay, not too long, but the second leg to Lake Nakuru was a long drive day. Flamingoes are no longer at Nakuru and migrate someplace else now. Lake Nakuru to Amboseli was a very long day. In retrospect I'd add an extrs day and spend it near Nairobi, then finish the drive to amboseli the next day.
I'm vegan and found enough to be filled. The point of a budget safari is to see the animals, we achieved that, the simple food, tents, colder showers, and bumpy roads are all part of the low cost. I can endure all that, but make sure the drive time each day is acceptable when planning. I blew it in that department.
BTW: everyone says I brought back the most amazing pictures. Over time , you forget the bumpy road time and remember the highlights.

Good value for money
This trip was just great! The communication prior the safari was effortless and easy. The transport was on time, comfortable and very convenient. The accommodation and food were simple, but very nice. I will say that for this cost, we were impressed. I recommend!

Short 3 day Safari to Selous
The Kanuth team were really good in arranging our trip. We gave them our dates and they created a list of activities for us which included pick up/drop off from and to the airport, a boat safari, walking safari and a traditional driving safari which lasted most of the day . We paid a deposit and then paid the rest of the fee on arrival. We went with a cheaper option for accommodation and stayed at HippoCamp just outside of the Game Reserve which was adequate enough and clean... It is very basic but we had a toilet and shower which we didn't expect.
Our chef was great, friendly and cooked some great food! even including great bottle of white wine on our last night. All the staff at HippoCamp were great and very friendly. We managed to see Hippos, Lions, Giraffes, Zebras, Buffalo, Crocs and lots of birds. We sadly missed out on seeing any Elephants Our driver on safari was great and knowledgable in regards to the animals. The boat and walking safari were also very fun and interesting. We would return. Although be aware the drive from Dar Es Saalem takes around 6 hours... It was nice to see the country on the drive but there is also a possibility to fly to Selous which is a 20minute trip but it costs around $150 Per Person.

Tremendous experience in Uganda.
we spent really good time with Karumuna Safari. The staff is very professionnal.
We felt secured everywhere we went to and the service was really good while discovering fantastic areas of Uganda.
For my first safari, I had the chance to see 4 of the big 5 animals.
Well done for the whole staff!

Review about Lake Manyara National Park by vicente
Lake Manyara provided many scenic opportunities. We saw many wildlife around and in the lake. We did not, however, see any (tree climbing) lions . We were there for an afternoon and we understand that they could have been hiding.

An unforgettable journey of a lifetime, a "must do" for everybody
It was so easy to book our trip (for my daughter and myself) with Wild Planet Safari. Everything was done online with Thale whose service and communications were excellent. Our guides Chris and Lungisani were friendly and courteous and great "spotters" of the wildlife which we saw in abundance. We were so lucky to see a pack of 12 wild dogs together, in addition to a group of six cheetahs in one sighting. We saw the big five plus more and were rewarded during our bush walk with a sighting of a pride of lions with cubs. It's difficult to mention a highlight of the tour, there were so many! I'll be back!

Brief safari in Kenya
We visited Kenya for a few days before going to Tanzania. We spent some time in Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara Park. All safaris were excellent and although I had heard a lot about Tanzania surpassing Kenya in wildlife, we had similar experiences. Fantastic landscape, lots of wild animals and birds, and excellent service from Serene East Africa Safaris. I recommend a 4x4 Jeep and not a van, because the roads are not in good condition. Finally, we visited Mombasa, which really did not meet our expectations, we found Zanzibar much better.
