I’ve been a nature photographer hobbyist for most of my life. Photographing wildlife in the Okavango Delta had always been a dream of mine. When I finally got my chance to go, I was extremely nervous. Would I even see the animals? And what about the lighting for the perfect picture? Lucas made my dreams come true! Lucas knows the animals! He is there with them so often, he knows where to find them. He was so aware of the lighting on the animals for photography I never had to mention it. He would position the vehicle perfectly to get the shots. He was extremely careful and patient with the animals. And above all, he was patient with me. He always checked with me to make sure I got my shot before leaving a site. I love Lucas!

My Family and I were so impressed by the diplomacy and the timely manner they handled our tour visit from Nairobi to Mombasa and all the way to Masai Mara.
They booked the air tickets for us at a better rate than what we found online.
Also guided and found good hotels for us and even negotiated for better rates.

Professional and Expert Guides!
Lion King was absolutely fantastic! From day 1 they were extremely communicative and flexible when developing our itinerary. Our guide was Shafino, who was an absolute professional and expert guide. He took us to 3 different national parks over 6 days and was great company the entire time. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all the animals, birds, and plants. He knew exactly where animals would be and could predict how they would act, which always put us in the best position for photos. On several occasions Shafino moved ahead of other guides because he knew what the animal was likely to do, demonstrating his knowledge. If you are into birding, Shafino is your guide! He has experience working with birders and could spot even the smallest bird while driving down a dusty road, amazing!
If you are looking for a safari company, Lion King Adventures is it! They prioritize quality professional and expert guides over quantity. Shafino was our guide, but throughout the trip we talked with other Lion King clients and employees and found that everyone had enjoyed their experience and all the guides were professionals.

Amazing experience!
We had a wonderful time in South Africa with Khalanga Safaris! We did a 6 days tour with Panorama route. Sadly, the weather wasn't on our side for the Panorama route but the safari was AMAZING! Our guide Donald was amazing at finding all the good spots for animal sighting, cooking us great meals, and answering all our questions. We did see all the Big Five and a lot more. Also, December is a good time of the year to see babies and we saw a lot!! Elephants, lions, hyenas, impalas, rhinos, etc.! We really enjoyed our trip, would 100% recommend!!

Enjoyable, educational and totally worth it!
Communication with Shoes Mathebula who runs Khalanga Safari was rapid and simple. Transportation was reliable and the tour gave us a good overview of the beauty and variety of activities at the Kruger National Park and surrounds in 5 short days. Wildlife galore , delicious home cooked local food and great company provided by Shoes made the trip one of our best experiences ever . Also appreciated that there was flexibility in the daily arrangements according to our preferences. Highly recommend this safari.

Best Safari Experience we could have imagined
"We lacked for nothing-comfortable bed in a large stand-up tent, hot water whenever we wanted . . . the cook was a magician who never duplicated a meal. One distinct advantage to a tent safari is that there is no fixed schedule. If we saw something interesting (like witnessing a buffalo kill in progress) we could take our time . . . The entire trip was perfect in that each camp was like a stepping stone to the next. Add in the Lucas, a wildlife photographer himself, always put us into the best position for open shots with the best light."
