Truly Remarkable Safari Experience -- Worth Every Shilling
5/5

My fiancé and I booked a six-day safari with Godson Adventures. We were extremely excited as this was our first trip to Tanzania and my first time on a safari. Godson Adventures did not disappoint. We had an absolutely incredible experience that I am confident we will remember for many, many years to come. The safari had stops in Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. Our lodging at every stop had beautiful views and spacious and comfortable accommodations.

Our guide, Edrick, picked us up from a hotel we had been staying at in Moshi after we had completed a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro. The truck was spacious and comfortable and had power outlets, WiFi, and a fridge for food and drinks. After a brief stop in Arusha to meet with Godson and pick up supplies, we began our drive to Tarangire National Park – the first stop on our trip. Within just a few hours of arriving at Tarangire, we saw three of the “Big Five”: elephants, buffalo, and, much to our delight, lions. Our early success in seeing these animals is a testament to the knowledge and expertise of Edrick, who has many years of experience and used to work as a ranger at Ngorongoro Crater (the third stop on our safari). Edrick is a highly-skilled operator who has an extensive network of relationships with other tour guides and park officials and was able to use those relationships to help us locate many animals – not only at Tarangire but also on the other stops on our journey.

After a day or so in Tarangire, we drove to Serengeti. There are no words to capture the beauty and vastness of the Serengeti. While there was something special about each stop on our trip, the Serengeti is a place like no other. The sheer amount of wildlife that you will see warrants spending at least a couple of days here. During our stay, we saw all of the Big Five and many other animals. We were spoiled in that we saw no less than 25 lions, two rhino, two cheetah, two leopard, and too many elephants and buffalo to count. Our highlights in Serengeti included observing (1) a cheetah attempting to hunt a gazelle, (2) two lions stalking a dazzle of zebras, and (3) a group of lions guarding a zebra carcass that they had killed earlier that day from hyenas, vultures, etc. Edrick had an incredible ability to find many of these animals, and often well before the other safari trucks arrived, which made the experience all the more special.

Our third stop was in Ngorongoro Crater. The views from the lodge we stayed in at the top of the crater were truly remarkable and, as with the prior two stops on our trip, we again were treated to an array of wildlife during our drive through the crater. The crater is considerably smaller that Tarangire and Serengeti, but there’s still plenty of animals to see. Our highlight here was watching a pride of lions feasting on a wildebeest, with the hyenas in the distance, waiting for the leftovers.

We concluded our trip with a brief stay in Lake Manyara. Unlike the prior stops, the park here was a bit quieter and far less populated. Even so, we still were able to see many animals – including well over a hundred baboons. This was a nice and peaceful way to end what had been an eventful safari.

Overall, we cannot say enough good things about Godson and Edrick. They were incredibly gracious, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our only regret is that we did not book a longer safari because we were very sad to have to leave Tanzania and come back home. We have recommended Godson Adventures to our family and friends and would recommend them to anyone who is considering a safari in Tanzania. This is a small but growing company and we are confident that under Godson and Edrick’s leadership they will thrive and be successful. We very much look forward to the day that we return to Tanzania for another safari with Godson Adventures.

Fantastic experience from start to end!
5/5

Our experience with Zohar was everything, and more!
After a lot of research, we decided to do a 5 day safari with Zohar (Tarangire - Serengeti - Ngorongoro) and got to see so much wildlife (which was the most important thing for us). Our guide, Ahmed, expertly navigated the parks. He was also so patient with us while we took photos and wanted to stay in certain areas a bit longer. I'll never forget how we stumbled upon a lioness less than 3m away from the car - and we were the only ones there!

Even before arriving to Tanzania, Lillian was always kind, professional, and so quick to answer our questions. During the trip, Lillian went above and beyond. She checked in on us to make sure we were having a good time (which we always were!) and even helped us on the way home by driving us to the airport.

Lastly, all of the accommodations were fantastic. Everything was comfortable, staff were super friendly, and the food was great. Our favourite and most unforgettable nights were spent in the Serengeti.

I would recommend Zohar 100%. We can't thank Lillian & Ahmed enough for an unforgettable trip and we can't wait to be back soon (and for longer this time!)

The best tour operator
5/5

Jackson and his staff are amazing. Very professional in organizing everything from the begin. They really knows how to take care of the customers which, in my opinion, is a primary target for the tour operators that works in East Africa. We had the chance to go up in the Kilimanjaro for our first five days and then we continued for a 5 nights Safari all over the parks in nothern circuit.
I would 100% recommend Hekima Safaris East Africa for your amazing experience #GoHekima

Super organized for our first safari
5/5

E Trip did a great job organizing our first African safari! I traveled with my older father, and it was both of our first times on safari so we really had no idea what to expect or what we wanted. E Trip was extremely responsive, answered all our questions, and put together an extensive tour for us in Tanzania. Our accommodations were beyond what we expected and the wildlife density we saw was amazing. E Trip had answers to all our questions about visas, Covid testing, and other entry requirements.

Our guide, Alladin, was also great. He had a ton of knowledge about all the animals we saw and was extremely respectful of the wildlife, which I really appreciated. Even when we were running late to get to our camp for the night he was always willing to stop and let us observe when we found something interesting. He was friendly, professional, and clearly enjoys his job.

Overall we had a great experience and I definitely recommend E Trip and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Amazingly responsive, flexible, and attentive to our requests and interests!
5/5

For over 2 years my wife and I worked with Megan at Discover Africa to assemble our dream safari itinerary. After some back and forth in 2019 we quickly realized that our dream trip was out of our budget so we held off for a year to make sure we could afford to take the exact trip we wanted. Megan was patient, checking in periodically, and was immediately responsive when we reinitiated the discussion in 2020. She provided recommendations to us from her personal experience and answered any and all questions we had. Once booked, payment was simple with an initial deposit and scheduled date for when payment would be due.

Then COVID hit. Throughout 2020 Megan continually checked in and provided the most updated information she could for the various countries we'd be visiting. Eventually we found out that due to COVID restrictions our October 2020 trip would have to be rescheduled. Within what felt like an instant, Megan already had the trip we originally designed rebooked and confirmed for 2021. Throughout 2021 we kept in touch and as the trip drew near Megan took charge on identify testing requirements and coordinating arrangement of tests for us.

During the actual trip, everything was seamless as Megan had arranged. The places she found for us were absolutely perfect for what we wanted. We felt completely prepared for what to expect, what to bring with us, local customs, etc. She provided her personal contact information in the event that we encountered an issue, which we did not. We've never been so sad for a trip to end! My wife and I both agreed that this trip felt more like a vacation than any other trip we've taken, and we owe it all to Megan and the Discover Africa team for their arrangements and assistance in booking and coordinating our dream safari.

5/5

We had an amazing 5 days of family safari (4 adults and 3 children aged 7, 9 and 111)!
The organization was great! The accommodations were fantastic: beautiful and super comfortable! And delicious meals!
A huge THANK YOU to our guide Ombeni who made this experience unforgettable! A warm, caring, attentive guide, perfect with children. He gave us lots of explanations about Masai animals, vegetation, culture and history… and some basic knowledge of Swahili! We had the chance to meet leopards and cheetahs up close ... all the big 5 !!! What wonderful memories!
We loved our safari made it an unforgettable experience for the 7 of us!
A big thank you to Pendo for the organization and again a huge thank you to Ombeni, the best guide of the world according to our children!

Outstanding Safari
5/5

Our family experience with Gosheni was simply fantastic. Having experienced several safaris over the last years with different compagnies, we can definitely say that Gosheni are outstanding and deserve their top ranking on tripadvisor. Everything was perfect. The organisational part handled by Pendo was very clear and professional. She provided us with very flexible cancellation conditions which gave us the confidence for going ahead with the reservation, which was crucial for us seen the pandemic situation. Now comes our driver, Ombeni, who simply made our family experience the best it could have been. He was fantastic with the kids aged 6, 8 and 11 and played around with them, but also talked about the wildlife with passion which witnesses his true loving of his job and the nature of his country. We miss him already.
Thanks to him we saw the big 5 with the unexpected moment of seeing two leopards struggling to get out of a heard of elephants, and 2 cheetahs climbing onto a car right in front of us !!
We wish Gosheni a long prosperous future and hope to come back soon.

Friendly, experienced, knowledgeable
5/5

Even though I am not in the habit of writing reviews, we had such an amazing experience with BigCats - and it was such a hassle finding a tour operator online - that I am happy to help future safari goers!
We went on a 5 day safari, visiting Lake Manyara, Tarangine, Serengeti and Ngoro ngoro. We opted for the private safari.
I would strongly recommend people to book a private safari since you will have the option to choose when to linger and when to go, have lunch and so on.
All was very well organized, we were picked up from the airport and driven around over the next 6 days. Our guide was very friendly and really knowledgeable when it came to the animals and information about them. He explained all the habitat and behavioral things to us.
During the entire trip everything was very well organized, food, drinks and hotels.
We would definitely book a safari through Big Cats again!

Fantastic lemosho route with Great Lake expedition
5/5

We are a large group of 10 friends from Paris and United sates who just completed the amazing Mount Kilimanjaro Trek with Great Lake Expedition a really perfect Kilimanjaro Trekking Tour Operator. They were more than quick in answering our countless emails with lot of helpful advice in planning our trip. They advised to take 8 days Lemosho trek because of higher success rate and we were all successful in reaching the summit.
Our guides, cooks and porters were kind, caring and interesting people to do the mountain together with. The climb was challenging but, with the support of expert crew, great equipment (tents, sleeping bags, chemical toilet…), delicious hot meals and constant care and motivation we did it. There were many remarkable individual moments on the climb however nothing beats sunrise at the summit.
Great Lake Expedition is just an absolutely fantastic Kilimanjaro trekking company! If you want to get the full Tanzanian experience and enjoy a remarkable trip, this is the group to go with!
