Zohar African Safaris was very dependable, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with.
We were extremely happy with our 8-day Zohar safari, which combined wildlife thrills in several parks with valuable cultural interactions with local tribes. The company’s owner, Lilian, was very accommodating of our needs throughout the entire process, before, during, and after the trip. She even used her contact (Said) in Zanzibar to ensure that our visit to the island following the safari was filled with various activities. We couldn’t have been happier with how the entire experience was handled.
Our guide was Tom (Tumsifu) who went out of his way to make sure that we saw all the animals that we possibly could, including a leopard feasting on a gazelle, cheetahs stalking their prey, herds of migrating wildebeest, and playful lion families.
Tom was always punctual and in a good mood, which helped the driving time pass very quickly. We had countless conversations with him on a variety of topics pertaining to life in Tanzania, and he illuminated greatly our understanding of this country. We also cherished our hot lunches in the wilderness of the savanna, which Tom would set up with expert grace. And, of course, he knew by heart every inch of the area we were traveling in, and had detailed knowledge of the local fauna and flora.
We absolutely recommend to everyone booking Zohar Safaris to experience the trip of a lifetime!
Tanzania is a beautiful, colorful country, and its people are very friendly, hospitable, energetic and ambitious. In addition to the safari itself, we visited and interacted with the Maasai, Hadzabe and Datoga tribes — and it was an enjoyable, authentic cultural experience.
We would like to thank the entire Zohar team for their professionalism, expertise, kindness and hospitality!

They delivered more than expected !
We are a couple traveling to Tanzania to make a safari dream come true. We talked to Issa by email and WhatsApp. Issa helped us create the itinerary exactly as we wanted. He was attentive and always quick to answer any questions. About Serengeti and Ngonogoro Crater our expectations were high from what we had read. We chose July because we wanted to see the great migration. And it was just amazing! we were very lucky to have Lameck as our guide. Lameck has a lot of knowledge about animals, their behaviors, habits, characteristics. Besides that, Lameck loves those animals. We can see how much he really loves and admires them, in small details. Lameck tried to give us everything he considered relevant and, above all, he apply all effort to take us everywhere, different landscapes, animals, different animal events he was making sure we didn't miss anything. Lameck is very polite and an excellent company to spend seven days with! Our chef Rama also enchanted us with his joy and culinary talent as everything he prepared was delicious. There was plenty of food and it was prepared with care by dear chef Rama. We had a lot of laughs with him and we miss these wonderful people. We went to the northern Serengeti to try to see the wildebeest crossing the river. No one could guarantee that we would make it as it is an event of nature. But we were very lucky and thanks to the knowledge and logistics that Lameck applied we were able to watch 4 river crossings. We were thrilled and grateful because we were able to fulfill our dream and purpose of the trip. our safari was simply beautiful and unforgettable. We saw all the expected animals: thousands and thousands of wildebeest, leopards in the trees, families of elephants, crocodiles, hippos, hyenas, zebras and giraffes, birds (Lameck knows birds very well), cheetahs, different types of antelopes, pumbas, lions … we just have to thank Issa, Rama and Lameck with all their dedication and great eyes to see animals!

The best safari trip ever!!
We chose a 3 day safari trip, Day 1: Tarangire National Park, Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater, Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park. Simon was assigned our guide for all 3 days and we stayed overnight at Twiga lodge. We were greeted warmly by Godlisten at Arusha airport and met at the end of our trip (and dropped off at the airport). All parks were very different and each well worth a trip to, however it was the people that made the trip so amazing!
SIMON is an amazing 5* guide, not only is his subject knowledge excellent and totally up to date, but his knowledge and his interest extends beyond the safari animals to all of the surrounding nature. Theres rarely a question he cannot answer - and believe me we asked loads. When uncertain, he has the humility to admit that he doesn’t know and will research into it, returning quickly with an answer.
His genuine total respect for the animals and indeed the whole environment is impressive! What stands out most is his enthusiasm, sense of humour, love of the animals (they come first) and genuine love of his own profession.
We were treated like royalty by all staff, at Twiga Lodge, and they were so genuinely nice people. Rooms are clean - nice shower, clean sheets and towels - just what you want. We had been on safari all day. It was lovely to be greeted by the receptionist JACQUELINE, who showed us around. It was lovely to see the welcoming swimming pool and even nicer to be assigned our very own chef for the evening - FAUSTINE SONGA . The food was perfect, he cooked us the best soup we have both ever tasted / pumpkin soup, WOW! It is impossible (and we tired) to find a better Hotel to stay. Great hotel, excellent staff who are genuine and down to earth providing the best service, making you feel special! Give me Twiga (giraffe) lodge any day - just like the giraffe, they reach the highest standards.
Godlisten/ Colours Africa provide an exceptional service for a very reasonable price! We would unreservedly recommend them! 5*

perfect experience
After excellent experiences in Namibia and Ethiopia, we decided to visit one of the most famous African countries, Kenya. The tour program was tailored by the travel agency Best Memory Safaris, chosen by us, exactly according to our specified requirements, and the complete services of this travel agency are at a very high level (the dealings are very professional and everything went exactly according to the planned itinerary to our complete satisfaction. Given that Kenya is a vast country and our time to visit it was limited so we only visited some places, we started with a tour around Nairobi (Giraffe center and Museum Karen Blixen) both are definitely worth a visit. The giraffes are great and the chance to see these elegant creatures up close and at the same time, feeding them is an unforgettable experience. We continued to Lake Nukuru (flamingos), after Nukuru, the Masay Mara National Park awaited us, from our point of view, the most beautiful of the parks, due to the number of game, especially at the border river Mary. The great migration of game began from Tanzania to Kenya and the amount of wildebeest and zebra was really breathtaking, as well as the number of beasts (lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals and). Masay Mara really charmed us. The next park visited was Lake Naiwasha with a boat ride (highly recommended) the amount of waterfowl was unexpected and the experience of hunting fish eagles and the presence of hippos was amazing.
Another NP was Amboseli, whose main asset is the proximity of the highest mountain of Africa (Kilimanjara), which rises above the park and thus makes it very photogenic. From Amboseli, I continued to NP Tsavo east where there are i.e. red elephants. That was the end of our visit to the National Park and I left for a few more days to relax at the sea, specifically at Diani Beach. The beach at the resort we washed was absolutely great, just like in the advertising photos (palm trees, white sand and azure warm sea (ocean). I also took a day trip to Mombasa. Mombasa struck us as a very friendly city and an old city with a fort for sure worth a visit.
All the accommodation we visited met our expectations, and sometimes even exceeded our expectations.
We managed to see the complete big five during the safari, which I consider a small miracle (we didn't expect to see a leopard).
We went back to Nairobi by train (Mombasa – Nairobi) a completely relaxing trip.
If I have to sum up the visit to Kenya, then it is clearly perfect and certainly not the last, as we have far from seen everything from this beautiful country.

A great way to get in touch with Africa for first time
I booked a 2 night/3day safari in Nyerere National Park, starting the trip from Zanzibar and finishing back there (flights included).
I choose Shammah Wonder Safari as I took 3 quotes, and from there, Justin, the owner of the company, got in touch with me and started asking me my needs and preferences, making sure everything was okay and perfect.
He helped me with all the details, even booking some accommodation in Zanzibar and finding me a driver, Makame.
I had the chance to know him and he was a very charming man who wanted to help in everything he could, so I highly recommend you to book your safari and activities through him.
About the safari, It was a really nice experience, so I could see lions, elephants, giraphs, impalas, zebras, hipos...It is not always easy to find them, but the guides where making an effort trying to find them and explaining you everything they knew about them and the land. Particularly I was very happy with my guides Jackson and Eli, who where very charming and welcoming, with a great level of english.
The accommodation was at Africa Safari Camp, and in my opinion was great, with a nice place to sleep and great food. Masai where guarding the place and they where really nice with guests. At night I had the chance to dance with them and it was an amazing moment I will never forget.
The one thing you should ask, is if you are going to a village or a school, as I did and didn't know. Then, you will have the chance to bring some materials and stuff to children and people over there that could use it and take profit.
In conclusion, this is one of the best experience I ever had and you will not regret if your attitude is positive, curious and grateful.
