Jimmy is the best!
Everything went very smoothly. The communication with Lennox was super clear and fast so we knew exactly which time a driver would be picking us up from the hotel. Jimmy was our tour guide and he’s the best! Super friendly and accommodating, and he knows a lot about the park and the wildlife. He made sure we saw every animal there is to see: even a rhino! This was an unforgettable experience and we have Jimmy to thank.

Emma is an amazing, bubbly and knowledgeable person. Book her!
Emma took us on two day trips in August of 2022 in the greater Johannesburg area. She showed us around at the Maropeng, Cradle of humankind site and Soweto. She knows her stuff, is very entertaining and seemingly knows everybody wherever we went. I would recommend Emmah time and again.

Be aware of last minute surprises and disappointment, as a disappointing start and a sad end.
The company maybe good, so long as they give you their dedicated tour guides.
We felt we were duped, in that the dedicated driver was changed the morning of the start of the tour, resulting in a late start. The replacement guide (who later confirmed he was freelance and not with the company) seemed like he was dragged out of bed and tired throughout the day. He was a nice guide, but we felt like things were rushed. There was no debrief at the star and or cautions during the drive. This was particularly important when a deep ravine was attempted to cross requiring a sharp decline. No warning was given, which sadly resulted in the wife falling from the roof vantage point and damaging her ribs and arm. The Serengeti was an awesome place, but sadly the promise of seeing the migration by the tour company was just a hype to get us to sign up with them as no attempt was made to try and view the migration, which sadly was told by a guide from a different company that the package/days would not allow for such a drive. The camps were ok but in need of maintenance, especially one where the hot water was not functioning, resulting in a bucket and electric kettle being provided. The last day was the biggest disappointment as it was Ngorongoro crater and home to the Rhino, which sadly, after repeated requests to try and find the Rhino, was never attempted and the day was wasted by killing time driving, stopping for 5 minutes, driving stopping etc. Then to our shock and horror, the trip was cut short by 40 minutes and we were rushed off to the airport without any further game drive.

Perfect experience!
Everything went perfect with Savannah Woods Safaris. The communication upfront with Lucy gave you a good and safe feeling about traveling to Africa for the first time. Going on safari with the best guide and National park expert Patrick was simply stunning. We saw every animal we wanted to see and upclose enough to get a glimpse of these amazing creatures. Patrick was very knowledgeable, he shared with us useful information in regards to the animals and the parkin general. The safari was satisfying as we couldn't ask for more. Thank you Savannah Woods Safaris for a perfectly executed trip.

Move over Nicholas Cage! The real National Treasure is here.
Jon M. is an absolute gem and is in the running for National Treasure of Uganda. He made us feel at home, because as he explained, we were. Jon shared his culture and experience with us, was knowledgeable about all of the many animals we saw in addition to the big 5, and knows Uganda like the back of his hand. 10/10, would Safari with Jon again and will be recommending him to both my family and friends.

Bucket List Annihilator
Our group of 4 spent a week in Uganda with Jon. I cannot write enough good things about our experience! When you begin researching to plan a safari, Uganda is not one of the countries that is promoted by search engines or blogs. But I’m here to tell you that not considering Uganda for safari would be a mistake. It FAR exceeded any expectations; and we even had a prior personal recommendation! The parks, wildlife, food, and people were an absolute must for anyone who wants to experience the richness of East African safari! The gorilla trekking is an adventure of a lifetime, but Uganda has so much more to offer. From Murchison Fall’s and Queen Elizabeth National Park to the Chimpanzee trekking and amazing cultural/community experience near Kibale, you can’t help but fall in love with all Uganda has to offer!
All of these things factor into an unforgettable experience. However, Jon M. was the key that absolutely made the trip extra special. He made us feel welcome and at home. Jon is knowledgeable about Uganda, the wildlife, and all aspects of the safari. He was dedicated to making our trip the best it could possibly be, and took into consideration our preferences and goals for the trip. Safari By Jon provided a 10/10 experience that I will be strongly recommending to friends, family, and anyone else who want to go on safari. Jon became the 5th member of our group!
Thank you Jon!

Amazing experience - very well organised
My partner and I have recently returned from a fantastic 12 day safari across the Serengeti, Masai Mara, Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater.
The whole experience was organised by Nico at The Destination Consultants and we could truly not be happier with the service and organistaion we received.
Nico met us at the airport in Nairobi after an 8 hour flight from the UK, he quickly transported us to the hotel we stayed in Nairobi whilst explaining how the safari experience would proceed which was a really great start and put our mind at ease.
We then flew to the Masai Mara where our tour guide (Isaac) met us, he was brilliant and really listened to our needs and adapted the tours to meet them, we were lucky enough to witness a cheetah hunting and this was largely down to Isaac's commitment and tenacity once receiving some information. We were lucky enough to be able to spend an evening watching the sunset sharing a beer with Isaac and it was a real pleasure!
We then travelled to the Kenya/Tanzania border and met our Tanzania guide (Jackson) and again it was a real pleasure. We had a small delay with paperwork upon entrance to the Serengeti and although frustrating Jackson did all he could to speed up the process. Jackson was extremely knowledgeable and tried his absolute most to find the animals we wanted to see. He was extremely careful with the animals and provided an all round great experience for us.
We finished our holiday with a week in Zanzibar at the Tulia hotel which was once again absolutely amazing and all organised by The Destination Consultants. Both the hotel and organisation were 5/5 and we would also recommend booking everything through the agency.
We would highly recommend Nico and the team, it was a fantastic experience, we felt informed and involved throughout and overall really well organised.

Beyond expectations for a budget priced tour!
Chose an 8 day (Maasai Mara, Naivasha, Nakuru, Amboselli) budget tour in a 4x4 jeep. First time on safari so wasn't sure what to expect.
Jocky, specifically our guides, Moses and Francis, exceeded all my expectations. Pre-tour communications were informative and responsive. The deposit was easy to do. Pick up from our hotel was on time, and they had us on our way after a quick stop at their office for balance of payment.
The first lodging, a tented camp, was basic but clean and comfortable. The following accommodations got better with each stop and ended in a very nice resort that was well above what I expected. No shortage of food at any time; sufficient variety and all tasty (except the boxed lunches which could use some variety). The itinerary provided enough variety (i.e. different ecosystems) to avoid being repetitive or boring, as well as providing sufficient rest time (i.e. not all 6:30 am starts). It was also completed smoothly, on time, and to plan aside from incidents outside of their control (i.e. traffic congestion, power outages, flooding in park, etc).
The best thing was our guides who were professional but fun and friendly. They clearly communicated each day's plan, knowledgeably and happily answered questions about animals, cultures, history, etc., got us into prime viewing/picture taking positions, smoothly managed transfers of persons joining or leaving the tour, worked hard to overcome unexpected issues (i.e. traffic), and accommodated additional requests where possible (i.e. purchasing SIM card, ATM stops, arranging for PCR test, etc).
In general, a very positive experience, money well spent, and zero hesitation on recommending Jocky Tours!
