Outstanding safari experience
5/5

We have recently returned from a 3 day safari to Mikumi national park with going green safaris. The trip was excellent value for money considering it was a private tour taking in two nights lodge accommodations with all food included.

The safari itself was excellent. The savannah was simply beautiful and we saw many animals including Lions, Giraffe, Elephants, Hippos, Crocodiles, Zebras plus many more…

We would recommend booking with Going green. Their communication and flexibility is second to none.

Thankyou.

Shafino is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about all things Tanzania and Africa.
5/5

Lion King Adventures made what is an amazing experience of going on a safari all the more incredible, going above and beyond in every facet.

They have prepared everything you need as you progress through your safari adventure, making everything seem less and stress free. They handle all the park permits, packing of lunches, obviously the driving to and from all location, and so much more. Their recommendations for lodges during our visit couldn’t have been better as each night was spent at amazing locations with the best and friend listed staff.

We couldn’t have been paired with a more incredible guide in Shafino, who shared great knowledge of all things Tanzania and Africa. His passion and pride in what he does and knows, we appreciated the wealth of knowledge he passed along to us during our journey over 4 days, whether it be the animals, plants, the land, people, and culture. There wasn’t a question we asked that wasn’t able to be answered and will go home with more knowledge than we could’ve imagined. His keen eye on the landscape and masterful driving helped set up amazing photos and memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.

Lion King adventures lives up to their name, in that they are the king and top of the line in your safari expedition needs.

Professional
5/5

We were a group of four who immensely enjoyed our 3-day safari - at all levels, really.
Communication with Viva Safaris via email, pick-up and transport from airport hotel to Tremisana Lodge + the Kruger Park.
The absolute highlights: the evening drive, the full day in the Kruger and the Blyde River Canyon stop.

Amazing Program, extremely reliable, top Luxury Camps at a very faire price!
5/5

Dancing Simba was the first one who responded to our quote. We were convinced from the very beginning as we felt very well understood and the offere was extremely good at a very faire price. All the questions we had and additional information needed were answered instantly by David personally. Our driver and guide, Ombeni (Praise) is very knowledgeable, friendly and caring. As we both are very passionate fotographers he always found the right spot to take picutes in the perfect light. We were always served a really nice lunch, delivered in pans and served on plates. It was not just an out of the box pic-nic.

We can 200% recommend Dancing Simba.

African safari
5/5

I recently embarked on a remarkable 5-day safari adventure with Serengeti Wakanda, taking me from Ngorongoro to the awe-inspiring Serengeti in Tanzania, Africa, accompanied by my knowledgeable guide Andrew. I must say, it was an experience that surpassed all expectations and left me with lifelong memories.

From the moment I arrived, the Serengeti Wakanda team’s professionalism and attention to detail were evident. They ensured that every aspect of the safari was well-planned and executed flawlessly. Andrew, my guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and truly dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience.

As we ventured into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, I was spellbound by the breathtaking landscapes and the abundance of wildlife. The vast plains, dotted with acacia trees and teeming with diverse species, provided a truly authentic African safari experience. Andrew’s expertise in tracking animals and sharing fascinating insights about the ecosystem made the journey all the more enriching.

The transition from Ngorongoro to the Serengeti was seamless, with the journey itself offering its own set of captivating sights. The open savannahs, with their golden hues, stretched as far as the eye could see, creating a sense of limitless wonder. Witnessing the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras embarked on their annual journey, was a truly awe-inspiring spectacle.

The accommodations provided by Serengeti Wakanda were nothing short of exceptional. The campsites were thoughtfully chosen, offering comfort amidst the wilderness without compromising on the authentic safari experience. The staff’s warm hospitality, delicious meals, and attention to every detail made each evening a delightful retreat after a day filled with adventure.

One aspect that stood out during my safari was the commitment of Serengeti Wakanda to conservation and responsible tourism. They emphasized the importance of preserving the fragile ecosystem and ensuring minimal impact on wildlife. This ethos, shared by Andrew, resonated with me and made the experience even more meaningful.

In summary, my 5-day safari with Serengeti Wakanda, guided by Andrew, was a truly extraordinary journey. It provided an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the natural wonders of Tanzania’s Ngorongoro and Serengeti. The company’s exceptional service, Andrew’s expertise and enthusiasm, breathtaking landscapes, and commitment to conservation made it an adventure of a lifetime. I wholeheartedly recommend Serengeti Wakanda to anyone seeking an unforgettable African safari experience.

Professional, reliable, flexible and fun
5/5

He was a good ambassador to his country. Our driver Johnny was reliable always on time or early. He delivered above and beyond our expectations.

He had a good sense of humor. He expressed patience with our three children on the long safari drives. His knowledge of the animals was on point. He spotted everything we needed to see. We saw the big five and more …

Highly recommend him as a safari driver with a young family. We always felt safe while having fun at the same time.

Axis helped us with our visa processing in a very professional manner. Overall, they were professional and easy to communicate with.

We were looking for an activity with our young family where we would be together, and the children wouldn’t be on their phones all the time. This was perfect. Lots of happy family memories were made this week.

Absolutely Perfect
5/5

My mother and I took this trip together in June 2023, and it could not have been any more perfect. Lauren was our travel consultant and she understood exactly what we wanted and also made some suggestions as to options we hadn't considered based on our personal interests. Communication was excellent throughout, and she responded quickly to ALL of our questions, both leading up to and during our trip. I am still in awe of how seamlessly all aspects of our trip worked out, despite our complicated itinerary, and this absolutely due to Lauren’s expertise and hard work. This made our trip truly relaxing and stress-free.

We flew into Joburg and spent the first day recovering from the 20+ hour flying time and 7-hour time difference at the Peech Hotel, which was quiet and relaxing and the food was excellent.

The following morning, we flew by charter flight 90 minutes to the Thornybush Game Lodge airstrip, which, in itself, was a really fun experience. We were picked up at the airstrip by our assigned guide and tracker in our game drive Land Cruiser and driven through the entrance to Thornybush Game Lodge whose gate was literally at the end of the airstrip. The lodge was beautifully appointed and every detail was attended to, everyone was extremely attentive, the food was exquisite, the accommodations were extremely clean and comfortable, and the wandering nyala, vervet monkeys, warthogs, and even the baboons (!) added to the experience. The main lodge area overlooks a (currently, in the dry winter season) dry river bed with a watering hole, which was visited by elephants, water buffalo, and a hippo. The game drives were truly top-notch, and now I hesitate to go on another safari, as I’m afraid no other safari will ever measure up. We saw the Big Five, nursing lion cubs, African dogs, a mother leopard and her cub (which we observed eating game in a tree on two separate occasions), warthogs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, many antelope and bird species. Our twice daily game drives were extraordinary, thanks in no small part to our guide Kaden and tracker John the Best. Their knowledge of the animals’ natural behavior patterns and skill at utilizing this to optimize our experience was just incredible. Because the animals are so habituated to having the Land Cruisers around, we were able to be within feet of leopards, lions, elephants, and rhinos without disturbing them in the slightest, and they continued their normal behaviors unfazed by our presence.

We were truly sad to leave Thornybush after three nights, but our next stop was Cape Town. We were met at the airport by Wayne, who was to be our private guide in and around Cape Town. During our three days in Cape Town, Wayne was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and attentive to all our needs as he guided us to sites like Table Mountain, Bo-Kaap, Kirstenbosch Gardens, vineyards, and the Cape Peninsula including visits to the Boulders Beach penguins and the Cape Point lighthouse. Lauren had also suggested and arranged a guided tour of the Christiaan Barnard museum at Groote Schuur, which I definitely recommend for anyone with an interest in cardiology, transplantation, or medical history. Wayne knows all the best coffee stops and restaurants, and each of his recommendations was delightful. Throughout it all, Wayne supplied historic background and personal anecdotes from growing up in the area.

Following our time in Cape Town, Wayne drove us to the whale watching village of Hermanus where we stayed for two days, exploring the gorgeous cliff pathways with huge breaking surf along the rocky beach and sighting seals and as many adorable dassies as possible. We had planned a shark cage diving excursion, but unfortunately this was cancelled due to ongoing storms and precariously rough seas.

We were happy to see Wayne again as he picked us up to transfer us to the Cape Town airport for our last leg of the journey, a visit to Victoria Falls. With guidance from Lauren regarding the visa process, this trip went smoothly and we were picked up from the airport and transported seamlessly to The Wallow Lodge, an eco-friendly lodge on a wildlife sanctuary which utilizes solar electricity and no single-use plastic products. Our private suite overlooked the river which was visited by many of the sanctuary animals. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed a variety of gourmet offerings including warthog, Kudu, and Mopane worms (!). On our second day in Zimbabwe, we had breakfast at a restaurant overlooking the Zambezi River followed by a tour of the breathtaking Victoria Falls. In the afternoon, we were transported to Zambia (and assisted through customs/immigration at the border crossing) for a phenomenal microlight flight over Victoria Falls. As majestic as the falls are from the ground, the view from the air allows a better appreciation of just how vast they truly are! The following day, we began our flights toward home, again assisted by a representative (pre-arranged by Lauren) at the Johannesburg airport, who greatly decreased the time required to transit security and customs and navigate to the international departures terminal.

If you're planning a trip to Africa, you can't go wrong with Ker-Downey, and make sure you request Lauren as your consultant and Wayne as your Cape Town guide!
