So different but so amazing
Overall rating
4/5

We loved our safari. With only 6 days we got the big 5 ! Our guide was really helpfull and always here to tell us the reality of this nature and secrets about it. With only a Half day of rain, the weather was great ! If you love birds you will be served with the quantity of them, they are always here even when you don’t expect them and they are so beautifull with their flamboyant colours like Rollers or Flycatchers which there are many of them. Lodgments are good and fit with your activities you could do all day. We were super lucky since we got a great guide, Shoes who is the Khalanga Safaris boss. He got a lot of experience and tell you everything about animals and he is always here to answer your questions…

About: Tanzania
Most amazing time in Tanzania
Overall rating
5/5

Me and my sister had the most amazing time in Tanzania. Starting off with some volunteering in Arusha, we went on our first adventure: 6 days on Kilimanjaro via the Machame route. Safaribookings.com made an excellent job in finding providers that fully match our expectations - we ended up with Leken Adventure and can clearly say that our expectations have been more than exceeded. Our guides Aggrey and Leonard and their whole team made our hike unforgettable.
After a few days in Sansibar, we then went on an Overland tour from Dar es Salaam to the Victoria Falls with Nomad Adventure. As a returning customer, I have already experienced the Nomad vibe and wasn‘t disappointed during my second trip with them. Gift and Casper were an excellent time and provided outstanding guiding and customer care.
We spent 2 months in Tanzania and had the most amazing! As our Kilimanjaro guide said „be a good ambassador for Tanzania“ - we loved it and we cannot stop talking about this amazing country! Asante sana!

I and five other friends spent two and a half days with Mr.Silas Anemba in Kenya. He guided us in the Amboseli National Park.He is very knowledgeable about animals, the landscape, and Eastern Africa. He also has excellent driving skills, as my group was taken to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. If you plan to come to Eastern Africa,I would strongly recommend Silas.

Reliable, really understood our trip goals, put together the best itinerary, friendly, available
5/5

My husband and I used Dancing Zebra Safari to plan an 8 day itinerary in Tanzania. They were INCREDIBLE! The Safari itself was a dream come true - when the wildlife, people, and accommodations. More over, Jessica really understood what we wanted from our trip and planned an incredible itinerary. Through back and forth I felt she really created the perfect trip for us! She was also very accessible leading up to the trip with any questions we had and dealt with a flight delay so smoothly! Also the guide, Thomson was a HUGE highlight - he was so knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to spend so much time with him! We will be recommending Dancing Zebra to lots of friends and family :)

Super Africa Wildlife Tours is reliable, kind, and very experienced.
5/5

My trip to Kenya was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will cherish for years. I was able to witness the Great Migration with my own eyes, which has been on my bucket list. From landing at Nairobi to departing 11 days later, Super Africa Wildlife Tours led the entire excursion for our tour group of 43 eager individuals. A majority of our trip was at Maasai Mara National Reserve, but we also visited Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria, and Hell’s Gate National Park. We spent 2 days in Nairobi where we ate wonderful food and experienced the kind Kenyan culture. Everyday, our wonderful driver and tour guide Benson brought us into the park and radioed other guides for intel on animal sightings. It is because of this that we were able to spot and learn about the Big 5 and so many other animals. Furthermore, Super Africa Wildlife was very accommodating with the itinerary, and allowed us to visit alternate sights. I highly recommend Martin’s team at Super Africa Wildlife, everything from the accommodations, transportation, and food was exceptional.

The best guides and porters on Kilimanjaro
5/5

We had an amazing time climbing with Almighty Kilimanjaro. Our guides, Obenny, John, Kenny, and porters, especially Bruno and our singing leader Mandela - but everyone else as well, couldn't do enough for us, and made what was a very hard climb a little bit easier.

One team, one dream,
non stop, to the top,
Pole pole, to the top,
Drink water, to the top.

Food was good, hard to know how they cooked what they did at 4600m. The knowledge of the guides is excellent and we always felt safe.

Loved it.

Going over and beyond awesome!
5/5

What an awesome experience we had with Cultural Vibes before and during our tour. We went with high expectations and our tour guide Garry ensured that they were met. He is a remarkable guide and person, who really cares about delivering a unique service that requires being timely and communicating well, yet at the same time he also accommodated our additional requests into the schedule seamlessly. We learnt so much during the couple of days we had on tour, as Garry has a wealth of knowledge and shares it willingly with a smile! Every single day was great and the tour was excellent. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

It felt like an ad hoc freelance organization, thrown together from far away, without care.
2/5

The up front communication was relatively professional, but as soon as the trip started so did the problems. We sat in our hotel lobby in Moshi at 7am waiting for the pick up. We were the only guests in the lobby, but the driver was sitting in his van outside, instead of looking for us. The van had no markings to indicate it was from Soul of Tanzania. After about a half hour, he finally came inside and found us, and we were transferred to a safari truck in Arusha, again with no company markings. It seemed to be freelance, arranged ad hoc, and the results felt the same. Our contact at SoT, Jose, when he finally replied later that morning about our pickup issues, wasn't even apologetic. "I was informed by my operations team about the misunderstanding and I am glad that everything was sorted out."

In the truck, when we started seeing animals and asked for the binoculars that were included in our tour, we were told they were broken. Luckily we had brought one not very good pair from home, and had those to share between us. The driver found a pair at the camp that night.

Our driver drove slow on the public roads, when other trucks were all passing us (not a great feeling after a late start thanks to the pickup "misunderstanding"). On the other hand, he flew on the park roads, shaking the truck apart, with thick layers of dust coming in his open windows. We had to ask him to stop when we saw animals. On the first day we noticed that each time we asked him to stop, he would take out his phone and be playing on it until we said "ok, we can go". After asking him to be more involved, thankfully he stopped doing that and told us a bit about the animals.

At the end of a particularly long day, with a morning game drive in Manyare and then drive to the Serengeti, he couldn't find our camp. The sun set, we were exhausted, and we were still in the truck. I was trying to use google maps to help find a tented camp. Eventually we found a park staff camp, and got directions from them to find our camp. We checked in after dark, ate, and slept asap, to get up at 4am for the hot air balloon. Imagine our dismay when, the next night going to a different camp, we were lost again. We stopped at 2 very nice camps, and the 2nd camp let us use their toilet and sent one of their staff with us to show him the way. It seemed like a tiny amount of preparation could have avoided both issues, and especially after it happened the 1st time.

We saw the big 5, and a lot of of animals and beautiful sights, but we couldn't help but feel that we were an afterthought, just thrown into any car with any driver, and when the inevitable issues arose, we didn't find they had any interest in admitting mistakes or making them right. I thoroughly recommend doing a safari in Tanzania, just not with Soul of Tanzania.
